The Fireworks Chapter 2 Clip, Unedited

About a year back things were not like this. It was a time when Serena was just a beginner trainer and five friends sat around one table. In the town of Vaniville, Serena was a new residence that moved in and the people of the town got to know her in due time.  The first person she met was Calem, a boy who live next-door. His trace pants and jacket were a darker shade of blue and his hat a dark shade of red. Under that hat was medium length brown hair. Calem was a calm yet cocky guy that would do anything to win.
The next two people she met were two boys from the next town over named Trevor and Tierno. Trevor was a shorter boy with grey eyes and a large orange afro that most likely made up at least an inch of his height. He’s a shy boy that didn’t speak much, but when he did you’d get an insight of his vast knowledge. The last of the three boys was Tireno, who was the complete opposite of Trevor. Tirenos has brown eyes and a stature that’s bigger than everyone weight wise; and he’s an energetic brake dancer. His hair was styled almost like a sumo wrestlers but styled upwards on the top of his head.
Of course that wasn’t the last person she met that day, because a smaller girl named Shauna was with them. She was a shy yet energetic girl when they first met and always called Serena Lady S, maybe out of formal habit or she just respected her so much. Either way after a few weeks of getting settled in to her new home, Serena received a letter from a lab a couple towns over.
“Lady Serena, you and two other selected youths have been pick to help me in my extensive pokemon research. I would ask my assistance to help me but they’re far too sheltered to be on their own in the outside world. I have selected you because of your mothers past history of Pokémon care and I’m sure you’ve taken some lessons from her. I want you to meet the other two individuals I’ve picked from your town, and don’t worry about getting to know someone new. You should know these two already.”
“From the desk of Professor Sycamore.” Serena read aloud to her mother sitting in the living room.
“Oh my Serena you’re already going to be heading off for a journey! Aren’t you excited?” Her mother asks as Serena was already packed to head out.
“Well I don’t know Mom, why don’t you tell me if I am?” Serena sarcastically responded back to her mother. “It’s not like you didn’t tell me to go start once we got the letter in the mail? Somehow I feel like you planned this out.” Her mother coughed slightly and laughed awkwardly in response and ran upstairs to avoid more of the conversation; yeah don’t worry this wasn’t suspicious. Serena shrugged it off and got dressed in her normal garments to head out. Down the road and into the forest path wasn’t too far to go to get into the next town over, a town called
Aquacorde. It was a small town with big two storied buildings with potion shops and little eateries. In the middle of the square was a smallish fountain that rounded out the town, the towns kids were running around it chasing a small Zigzagoon. Fletchling flew through the air and leaving small ember partials behind it, and the towns’ people gazed in amazement. The biggest feature of the town would have to be the large river and bridge separating the town and the Route 2 and Santalune Forest. It’s a beautiful view for all when walking on the river side and seeing the water sparkle in the sun or the moon.
Serena was called over from somebody to the left of her which was the four friends she’s gotten to know these past two weeks. Calem, Trevor, Tierno and Shauna were sitting around a small café table, all of them waved her over to sit; Serena walked over to them.
“I’m sorry everyone but I’m in a hurry to figure out who the two people I’m supposed to meet with, I have a letter from-“
“Professor Sycamore correct? We know already Serena you’re not the only important one that got called upon.” Calem rudely interrupted Serena. “We’ve been the ones waiting for you Serena; tardiness won’t get you to be the champion of the league.” Serena ignored him so he wouldn’t get the pleasure of a response, he wouldn’t care anyways if he didn’t.
“Anyways you guys are going to join me on an adventure?” Serena asked and both Calem and Shauna smiled at her.
“Of course we are Serena, why wouldn’t we be?” Calem blurted out again. “Also sorry about the cockiness, I was only joking earlier.”
“Don’t worry Calem its fine.” Serena replied to him and turned to Shauna. “Are you sure you’re ready to be on your own Shauna?” The question made Shauna jump, shaking her head out of a daydream.
“I’m sure I’ll be fine as long as everyone checks in with me every once in a while!” She said with a glowing smile; she’s such a darling soul.
“Alright guys if you’re ready we can do this already!” blurted out Tierno like he was in a hurry. “I was sent three pokeballs from the Professors lab and 5 pokedex’s, these are to be given to all five of use and the Pokémon are to be given to Calem, Shauna and Serena.” Tierno took out a capsule containing three balls, each with a small symbol on them, one with a water drop, one with a small fire and one with a leaf on it.
“Oh I see, I’ve done some research on the three starters of Kalos.” Calem started to explain, “The water Pokémon is named Froakie, and it’s a frog Pokémon that has small white bubble scarf around its neck. The fire Pokémon is named Fennekin, it’s a fox Pokémon that has a luscious coat of yellow fur with red tuffs in its ears that generate heat. And the last Pokémon, the grass type, is called Chespin, it has sharp quills on its head to protect itself from other foes.”
Shauna quickly looked at the capsule and jumped for joy. “Ahhh!~ The fire type sounds cute! I want the fire type guys!” Serena and Calem looked at each other and shrugged they shoulders, they couldn’t deny her eager childish side. Shauna opened up the capsule and with a puff of steam; the balls were exposed to the world. Shauna quickly picked up the ball with the fire symbol on it and threw it into the air. I bright red beam of light it the ground to release a small fox Pokémon, the Pokémon shacked its head and yawned from its sleep and looked up at Shauna.
“From now on I’m your trainer little Fuuko.” Fuuko yipped in response to say it liked the idea.
“Calem I feel you should go next.” Serena told Calem who looked at her strangely.
“You sure about that Serena? I would most likely get an upper hand in this situation if I did.”
“I’m sure Calem, I won’t have a problem with whatever I get. I’ll still treat it with kindness and love no matter what.” Serena responded. With that, Calem was next to get his first Pokémon, which he went straight to the ball with a water droplet on it. He threw up the ball and a flash of red light hit the ground to reveal the small blue frog Pokémon. Calem smiled and nodded to the frog in confidence and Froakie did the same with a bubble croak noise; it’s like they’re best friends already. Serena took a deep breath and took the last ball and of course she threw the ball up and the flash of red light revealed a small green hedgehog sort of creature with spikes on its head. It jumped for joy and hopped into Serenas arms, snuggling into her chest cutely.
“Hey Shauna!” Called Calem which got her attention quickly.
“Y-yes Calem?” she replied timidly with her face getting flushed.
“How about we have a battle to test out our new Pokémon?” Calem suggested and Shauna quickly nodded and ran over there with Fuuko running behind her. Serena shook her head and wondered what she sees in Calem, she practically does anything he says just so she can have his attention. As Serena expected the match didn’t last long, Calem clearly has more experience than Shauna which would be her downfall. Not to mention the type difference played a big role in the battle since Froakies water attacks are super effective to Fuuko a fire type.
“Aww you beat me Calem!” Shauna sighed in disappointment.
“Don’t worry Shauna you’ll be at my level soon enough with practice.” He slightly snickered to himself which got Serena slightly angry. She walked over there with Chespin in her arms. She placed the Pokémon on the ground and whispered in its ear which got it pumped. “Calem! Instead of picking on Shauna, how about you take on me instead.” She requested, resting her arm around Shaunas shoulders to comfort her disappointed soul.
“Are you sure you want to lose your first match Serena? I won my first battle without a scratch on Froakie.” Calem bragged aloud which got Serena more steamed.
“That’s because you intentionally got Shauna in a challenge that was one sided with types!”
“Well wouldn’t that be the same for you and Chespin there?” Calem pointed out which put Serena in a tight spot. Shauna handed her pokeball with Fuuko in it and a potion.
“Here Serena, show Fuuko what it’s like to be in a real battle. If this is what Calem wants then give it to him.” Shauna said silently clearly trying to get on Calems good side but at the same time giving Serena the opportunity to show Calem who’s the boss. Serena threw out Fuuko and tended to its wounds with the potion which made it spark back up.
“Alright is this what you want Calem? Well you got it!” The two readied themselves for battle.
“START!” yelled Terino and the match began.
“Fuuko charge straight at Froakie!” Commanded Serena which made Calem laugh.
“Charging straight in will be your downfall! Froakie, use water gun!” The small frog spouted a large amount of water that the small fox, but Serena thought fast.
“Fuuko dodge and use ember!” The small fox avoided the water with a jump to the side, then got straight into the face of Froakies and unloaded a load of fire sparks directly at Froakie. The small frog went down! Calem was in both shock and upset anger, he didn’t know how to feel.
“Y-you just got lucky that the last match me and Shauna had tired out Froakie or else I would’ve won!” Serena giggled slightly and gave a sarcastic response.
“Oh yes Calem, Froakie was so tired after all the bragging you did.”
“Bah! Whatever Serena…. It was an okay match I guess.” Calem said showing a little shame in his actions. Serena returned Fuuko to its ball and handed it to Shauna who looked up at Serena with a gleam in her eyes.
“Don’t let this battle get you down. Fuuko has great power and will lead your team to greatness I just know it.” Serena wrapped her hands around Shaunas one hand, making her blush slightly and turn away.
“T-thank you Lady Serena…”
