Today, I am excited to announce that Picturelife has been acquired by StreamNation, giving you and your photos a safe and secure future with a company we've come to know and love – one you're sure to love as well.
What does this mean for you and why did we sell Picturelife?
Late last year, we started thinking about ways to make certain that Picturelife and its customers were around for years to come. Over the course of our 3 years in business, we had built an amazingly passionate and committed community of customers. We knew there were many options for them in the market, but they chose Picturelife, and we did not take that lightly.
Meanwhile, as a small company, we were worried about the prospects of one day not being able to keep our customers happy, or making them leave our service because we could no longer support our business. Not yet profitable, and considering the importance of the data we were handling for you, these worries were unacceptable to have, and we wanted to find a way to alleviate them.
Then we met StreamNation: a company that shared our vision for storing a lifetime of photos and also shared our values in focusing on what's best for customers.
Not only did StreamNation share our vision and values, they also provided a beautiful, compelling platform itself – a platform with ambitious scope and an exciting future. Additionally, StreamNation had the means to ensure that our customers were well taken care of, now and in the future.
Soon after we met StreamNation, we knew: Picturelife and its customers had found a home.
And so, this announcement serves as an important milestone for Picturelife and our customers, but it is not goodbye. While I’ll be moving on to a new journey, some of our most dedicated team members will be joining the StreamNation family and will continue to serve you – working to combine our platforms to give you the best possible experience.
During these last few years, your belief in Picturelife, our team, and our product has been a profound blessing. I am excited for you and the team for what’s to come, and believe the best is yet to come.
