Hello Steam sales, my old friend.
It’s that time of year again.
Because I saw my wallet creeping.
Towards the door while I was sleeping.
And the sales, prices that were planted in my brain.
They still remain.
Within the sales of summer.

Through the store page I scroll alone.
Sale cart nearly overflown.
Portal 2 for one third the price.
My wallets sobs could be heard through the night.
When my eyes were assailed by the flash of a terrible sight.
Like Kryptonite.
It was the sales of summer.

And in that moments flash I saw.
Ten thousand people maybe more.
People buying without thinking.
“It’s not Halo but it’s worth keeping”.
People buying, games they would never play.
And no one dared.
Disturb the sales of summer.

Fools, said I, you do not know.
These sales steal our hard earned dough.
Hear my words that I might teach you.
Take my arms that I might reach you.
But my words, like the dollars we spent fell.
To the sales of summer.

And the people bowed and payed.
To the god that Valve had made.
And the store sent out its warning.
The sales shall have disappeared by morning.
And the store then exploded and erupted into a gigantic buying spree
“It’s nearly free!”
And wallets screamed, In the sales of summer.
