33. If you're wondering how to start your career with factions in NGRP, you have come to the correct guide. This guide will run you through each and every faction and the general basis of each faction. Using this guide, you can choose which career you prefer and which path of advancement you'd like to take in order to reach your primary goal.
 34.
 35. Disclaimer: This is only a way to guide players in their search for a preferred faction, I remain almost completely neutral on the matter myself regarding the factions and their perks. The guide is written in a style that explains and describes the perks and negatives of each faction. Again, this guide is written from my own opinion, I try to be as unbias as possible throughout.

 42.
43.
44. It is a very good idea to plan out your preferred career before you jump into a faction. This is to ensure that you are not dissatisfied with the choices you make and you have a clear mindset on what you want to do. You don't want to be joining the Los Santos Metropolitan Police Department if you'd prefer to have a career in the Fire Department of San Andreas, just because of something along the lines of 'FDSA recruitment was closed, but LSMPD was open'.
 45.
 46. So, ask yourself what you'd really like to do. Something you'd enjoy the most. Of course, sometimes it isn't an option - For example, you want to be an FBI Agent but you've never been in a faction before. But that's alright! The whole purpose of planning a faction career is to know where you need to go and what you need to do before reaching your goal.
 47.
 48. Another benefit of making a plan is that you know your limits and how to get over a barrier. I see the all too common mistake of players trying to join a faction at level one, and getting denied. You need to prevent these mistakes from happening to you, know the challenges that you'll face. It will require patience and dedication, but you can do it.
 49.
 50. As with any faction, you are going to be required to use Teamspeak 3 (LINK) and have a working microphone in order to communicate on the fly during your duties. As well as this, it is a generally accepted fact that you need to have a low crimes and arrests record in order to join the faction. Common sense is useful in this situation - Try to stay out of trouble if you're looking for a career in factions!
 51.
 52. Now, onto the actual planning stages.
 53.

54. -Entry Level Factions-
 55.
 56. Entry Level Factions are factions that require no previous experience within another faction in order to join. These are the factions that you should look at starting off your career with, in order to gain the 'LEO Experience' needed to progress to 'Experience Factions'.

 71.
 72. -Experience Level Factions-
 73.
 74. Experience Level Factions are factions that require experience from another faction in order to join. By default, they are more selective of their members as their department holds different kinds of responsibilities (it is harder to abuse a Police Cruiser than it is an Armoured Tank).

 105. The Judicial Branch contains many judges that deal with court cases on a daily basis.

 132. Internal Affairs [IA] - Internal Affairs is the division that deals with any corruption within the department. If an Officer is reported to have been behaving badly, or has been involved with any form of corrupt act, the Internal Affairs division is tasked with resolving the matter. 133. Detective's Bureau [DET] - The Detective's Bureau is similar to the SFPD's counterpart Detective's Bureau, where undercover police officers chosen from the most elite in the force investigate common street crimes and criminal activity within the city of Los Santos. 230. Anti-Trafficking Task Force [ATT] - The Anti-Trafficking Task Force division is known for stopping the trafficking of illegal substances into the cities within San Andreas. One such method of doing so is setting up station at the several tolls around the country, and making sure that any vehicle passing them is not carrying anything illegal. They may document the inflow from different areas of the country in order to target those areas and put an end to it.

231. Field Operations [FO] - Field Operations is the division that creates casefiles on dangerous suspects, documenting any form of crime that a suspect may commit, mainly focusing on the trafficking of illegal goods. They also assist Special Operations in capturing casefile suspects.

232. Office of Professional Responsibility [OPR] - The Office of Professional Responsibility is unique in the fact that it has two sub-tasks, Internal Affairs and Training and Recruitment. The OPR is the most elite division within SHAFT, dealing with both corruption and the introduction of new members. However, despite it being classified as the same division, Internal Affairs and the Training and Recruitment departments do not get involved with each other's work. The OPR takes authority over situations in front of any other division on the field. OPR have the authority to investigate any other government factions other than the Government itself, the FBI and NOOSE.

 297. The Underground Racing League is a unique faction in that you need to roleplay with the Racing Crews in order to join them. You can win cash prizes or an opponent's car through racing, as well as increase the reputation of yourself and your crew.
 298.
 299. The Racing Crews are often involved with Police Chases, as most of the racetracks are illegal to race on and many crews use illegal modifications to their vehicles such as Nitrous Injection. It is not uncommon to see Detectives and FBI Agents documenting the races and arresting the people behind them, so you have to be careful.

 311. The Federal Bureau of Investigations is a Law Enforcement Agency based all over San Andreas, with their main headquarters based in Los Santos. It is considered one of the most diverse factions due to it's complexity and capacity, covering a variety of different divisions and specialities.
 312.
 313. It is considered an 'Experience Level' faction, and you need the following to apply: Level 8

314. There are currently six divisions in the FBI:
 315.
 316. Criminal Investigative Division [CID] | Field Operations [FO] | Organized Crime Unit [OCU] | National Security Branch [NSB] | Internal Affairs [IA] | Executive Protection [EP]
 317.
 318. In order to know whether or not this faction is the one you wish to join, you need to know in-depth information about the divisions that it holds.

319. Criminal Investigative Division [CID] - The Criminal Investigative Division need to be able to keep undercover in order to gain intelligence on certain specific criminal targets. Their casefiles usually end in an arrest, and they put their lives on the line by following the criminal's actions albeit it being dangerous. They work with Special Weapons and Tactics in order to bring criminals to justice.

320. Field Operations [FO] - This is the uniformed division of the Federal Bureau of Investigations that usually go and make the arrests on casefile targets. Formally known as 'Field Agents', they also carry out raids on specific locations, and are well fit and trained agents for the job. They are involved in helping other departments during backup calls as well and generally work out on the field.

321. Organized Crime Unit [OCU] - The Organised Crime Unit are agents that work undercover for very lengthy periods of time, usually becoming gang members to gather intelligence on the gang's activities and it's members. It requires the utmost patience, as even a slip could cause them to lose their chance at gaining intelligence or even their lives. In the end, a report is made about the gang, their activities and if they were arrested or not.

322. National Security Branch [NSB] - The National Security Branch deals with all subjects and casefiles related to matters of National Security. They perform Clandestine services in order to secure the country's assets and interests. This is considered an elite division, as only the most trustworthy and hardened agents could take on such tasks and live to tell the tale. Terrorism, Treason and Higher Corruption are all matters of National Security and thus are in the best interests of this division. They use any means necessary to achieve their goals, some more 'inhumane' than others.

323. Internal Affairs [IA] - The Internal Affairs division serves the FBI by weeding out agent corruption. It is considered by far the hardest Internal Affairs bureau, considering that agents sometimes require to appear as though they are committing criminal acts in order to keep their cover safe. As well as this, they are able to solve IA disputes with other Law Enforcement departments.

324. Executive Protection [EP] - Executive Protection agents are tasked with protecting figures of high authority, and senior civil servants, such as the President and his staff. They are tasked mainly with protection and are not authorized to be doing the work of normal FBI agents under usual circumstances.

This is the division that any private ends up in when they enlist and the main division of the SAAS.

345. Department of Administration [ADM] - The Department of Administration consists of high ranking commissioned officers, such as the General, as well as training and recruitment staff within the faction. The Department of Administration deals with applications to the faction, Internal Affairs issues and being the administrative force of the faction as a whole.

364. General Overview - Hitmen take pride in the fact that roleplaying to a high standard is absolutely necessary in order to secure their targets. You need to be mindful of the methods you can use, as Hitmen usually work alone while taking on contracts. For example, if you lack common sense and would be likely to run into a group of armed soldiers to assassinate one, you probably won't find a place in this faction. Tactics and strategy are required, and the use of your head.
 365.
 366. Players can place Hitman contracts on other players using the /contract command. Hitmen can then accept a contract which will pay them the contract fee upon completion of the hit. Good Hitmen are never discovered until you have a knife in your neck, but the faction allows you to customize your own experience and choose your own methods. It is considered an Elite faction.
