It broke national headlines within a matter of days. A new treatment known as "The Immortal Drug" had completely stopped the aging process, and everyone with money was driving themselves mad to have a taste. However, the medical label - V1N-01 - was closely related to H1N1, and it seemed to cause worry among some of the brightest minds across the world. They questioned the materials used for the drug, little did they know would become a virus.

A large group of terrorists dealing in Russia's black market had caught wind of the news, and using every output available they had managed to obtain one of the leading doctors, Henry Vans, of the project V1N-01. Working hours to reproduce an identical for the terrorists, they now had what the needed produce mass quantities. Though America saw through their efforts, and sent mass destruction over most of Russia's land. Major cities such as St. Petersburg crumbled, and smaller county-states followed suit.

Little did America know of the mass butterfly effect to follow, that their actions would cause immense havoc throughout every continent. This included nuclear warfare that would soon wipe out more than twenty-five percent of the United State's population. The people who had caused the fall were now trying to pick it up, trying to save lives through vaccinations of V1N-01. Entire city rebuilding had started, and in only a few days, hope was beginning to shine brighter through the dark overhang of war.

However these dark times weren't over. V1N-01 had a bacteria similar to the predatory instincts of animals, and would infect the brains of those who had come in contact with it. Cells from the virus would completely masticate brain cells in acidic fluid, later spreading to the farthest reaches of a human's body. "The Immortal Drug" had done what it was made to do, and more. Signs of evolution with the vaccines showed people producing animal-like tendencies and physical traits to insects or mammals of similar traits.

It wasn't long before humans showing symptoms could no longer tell loved one from enemy, constantly angry, blinded by rage, they would randomly attack those around them in psychotic fits. Days turned to months and months turned to years. Entire cities had been evacuated, or built up to avoid the rapid spread of V1N-01's infection rate. The body's deterioration ranged in many different ways, sometimes so violent it would make a person completely unrecognizable in features. Anything remotely similar to a healthy host, became a target outside of safe zones. Sometimes, even the largest of walls couldn't block the outside... Or contain the inside.

Twenty-four years had passed, the only survivable areas remain in the coastal regions of America and few county-states dotting Europe's inner land. Travel has been built around thousands of miles of underground railway, connecting every safe zone to the next. With the world having lost more than thirty-seven percent of its entire population as a whole, all hope for any future seemed to die with the rest of the Earth.

What could be none other than a miracle surviving doctors discovered a flaw in a new generation of humans. Babies being born with physical abnormalities similar to that of the same monsters. Their parents had the same genetic flaw, only the recessive trait allowed them to be nearly immune to infection. The same children grew to have identical traits such as abilities, and through regrettable efforts, could go undetected by most infected. Unsure of how to control themselves, the government quickly established a school - St. Margaret's Academy - to teach this gifted generation how to control themselves. Though more importantly they were taught how to eradicate the infected, and secure a steady future for the improvements and expansions of safe zones.

Secluded in the deepest parts of Georgia's northern mountains, the area is hidden well by the many rolling mountain chains, and only accessible by a secret underground railway that crosses a full-grid system beneath the entire state. Students are classified into ranks based on their abilities that are equal to that of the infected their DNA mimics. Every infected found follows the basic coding of the Animalia or Insecta families, and more often than not, completely changes the body of a human to match.

Here the gifted will learn how to handle their abilities and fight back against the menace that has destroyed our home. While they may be weaker in comparison, they will grow within the campus, they will become great and powerful to fully eradicate the threats which keep us in constant hiding. In this academy, we are securing a future where we may all live in complete freedom.
