  1. [ 07:52:53 ] [ @couchman ] Alright
  2. [ 07:53:10 ] [ @couchman ] This occured about nine months prior to you guys meeting as a group IC.
  3. [ 07:53:30 ] [ Genevieve ] okay
  4. [ 07:54:02 ] [ @couchman ] It was late on a Thursday night and Genevieve was on her way back from a night on the town. Granted, you wouldn't really know it was that late from a glance at the streets.
  5. [ 07:55:03 ] [ @couchman ] Neon lights galore, restaurants and bars packed at the oddest of hours, the city below a black, triangular dome is truely always awake.
  6. [ 07:55:46 ] [ @couchman ] Granted, people do have their limits, and I imagine Genevive knows hers very well.
  7. [ 07:56:38 ] [ Genevieve ] Well it's only a Thursday, I can save some partying for the real weekend
  8. [ 07:58:13 ] [ Genevieve ] So head home then, right?
  9. [ 07:58:53 ] [ @couchman ] As you pass under an arched roadway, as you always do on your way home, and face about 500 feet from your apartment, you notice something a bit off from normal.
  10. [ 07:58:57 ] [ @couchman ] Roll Perception for me
  11. [ 08:00:50 ] [ Genevieve ] How do I dell dicebot what to do?
  12. [ 08:00:52 ] [ Genevieve ] 2d6+2
  13. [ 08:00:53 ] [ DiceMaid-9001 ] Genevieve, 2d6+2: 9 [2d6=6,1]
  14. [ 08:01:24 ] [ @couchman ] (oh, yeah that's it really - pretty simple syntax)
  15. [ 08:02:15 ] [ @couchman ] Normally there's a streetlight above the front entrance to the building that's on - it's shattered at the moment, and on closer inspection it looks like something...well, ran into it.
  16. [ 08:02:36 ] [ @couchman ] The metal beam is bent a bit.
  17. [ 08:03:13 ] [ Genevieve ] I'm gonna get a little closer, maybe whatever hit it is still around.
  18. [ 08:06:37 ] [ @couchman ] You get a bit closer, and get a better look around. Roll me Education: General
  19. [ 08:07:11 ] [ Genevieve ] 2d6+2
  20. [ 08:07:12 ] [ DiceMaid-9001 ] Genevieve, 2d6+2: 8 [2d6=2,4]
  21. [ 08:08:00 ] [ @couchman ] Couldn't of been a giant vehicle, woulda just plowed the whole thing down. Not a motorcycle either, too high up. A hoverboard couldn't make that big a dent. Not to mention there's no mechanical debris around.
  22. [ 08:09:16 ] [ @couchman ] What you do notice is there's a black liquid stained where the collision was, and a puddle of it from drippings. You doubt it was oil because of the above though.
  23. [ 08:09:47 ] [ @couchman ] seems there's a trail of it leading into an allyway beside your apartment.
  24. [ 08:10:39 ] [ Genevieve ] Looks like whatever hit it got hurt! Follow that trail to provide assistance
  25. [ 08:11:46 ] [ @couchman ] The trail leads right to a tin trashcan with the lid placed firmly on it. The trashcan seems to be jittering a bit. It's fairly obvious -something- is in there moving around.
  26. [ 08:12:13 ]  · · Nick : DiceMaid-9001 : [ RichterBelmont ]
  27. [ 08:12:53 ] [ Genevieve ] Can I use charm to try to calm whatever it is down?
  28. [ 08:13:10 ] [ @couchman ] Sure, go ahead and fluff and roll it!
  29. [ 08:14:00 ] [ Genevieve ] "Hey whatever, I know you're hurt and I want to help, so don't freak out or anything, okay?"
  30. [ 08:14:03 ] [ Genevieve ] 3d6+0
  31. [ 08:14:04 ] [ RichterBelmont ] Genevieve, 3d6+0: 12 [3d6=6,2,4]
  32. [ 08:14:44 ] [ @couchman ] The trashcan stops moving around. No sound out of it though.
  33. [ 08:15:11 ] [ Genevieve ] "Alright, that's good, let me get a look."
  34. [ 08:15:20 ] [ Genevieve ] I go to take the lid off the trashcan
  35. [ 08:17:11 ] [ @couchman ] Inside you see a black, S letter shaped creature. It seems to have a few shards of glass in its singular, unblinking eye. It stares at you. Hard to say if it's petrified with fear, or just really hurt and doesn't want to move.
  36. [ 08:17:52 ] [ Genevieve ] Education to identify: 2d6+2
  37. [ 08:17:58 ] [ Genevieve ] 2d6+2
  38. [ 08:17:58 ] [ RichterBelmont ] Genevieve, 2d6+2: 11 [2d6=4,5]
  39. [ 08:18:57 ] [ @couchman ] You know it's an Unown, alright. Odd Telekinetic Pokemon that aren't very common at all, specially here in Thundercry. They prefer ruins to cities.
  40. [ 08:19:28 ] [ @couchman ] It seems very unlikely to you it could have simply rammed into the pole on accident and sustained such an injury. Something must have thrown or crushed it into it.
  41. [ 08:19:38 ] [ @couchman ] News to you that they -bleed- though
  42. [ 08:20:24 ] [ Genevieve ] "Poor baby! I can help, but I'm gonna have to pick you up, alright?"
  43. [ 08:21:04 ] [ @couchman ] It makes an odd low pitched chiming sound that almost sounds like a whimper, but it doesn't protest as you reach into pick it up.
  44. [ 08:21:40 ] [ Genevieve ] Is there a Pokecenter nearby that I can take it to?
  45. [ 08:22:05 ] [ @couchman ] There's one a few blocks from here, yes.
  46. [ 08:22:37 ] [ @couchman ] There's a lot of stray urban Pokemon in this city, as such it has quite a few throughout it's streets.
  47. [ 08:24:33 ] [ Genevieve ] Alright, I'm going to hurry that direction!
  48. [ 08:24:59 ] [ Genevieve ] "We're going to the Pokecenter. I don't want to take that glass out myself and make things worse."
  49. [ 08:25:57 ] [ @couchman ] You run through the streets, most people giving you an odd look but a quick glance to the injured creature in your arms makes it pretty clear, they get out of your way and let you pass through.
  50. [ 08:26:33 ] [ @couchman ] Though, as the little guy continues to make an almost crying sound, another oddity this night occurs, roll Insight for me.
  51. [ 08:27:20 ] [ Genevieve ] 2d6+0
  52. [ 08:27:20 ] [ RichterBelmont ] Genevieve, 2d6+0: 6 [2d6=5,1]
  53. [ 08:27:32 ] [ @couchman ] It...takes you a bit of time to realize it.
  54. [ 08:28:22 ] [ @couchman ] At first there's no other pedestrians upon your path. Then the lights on the buildings around you suddenly go dim. A blue glow fills the sky. Odd runes take the place of windows and doorways on the structures around you.
  55. [ 08:30:17 ] [ Genevieve ] I'm gonna slow down and try to get my bearings. Maybe I drank more than I thought.
  56. [ 08:31:11 ] [ Genevieve ] If there's still a city layout going on, I'll keep going forward towards where the Pokecenter should be
  57. [ 08:31:49 ] [ @couchman ] the little guy seems to start wimpering, though it is obviously still in pain. The street continues onto a bit, opening to a courtyard where you would have expected the Pokecenter.
  58. [ 08:33:31 ] [ Genevieve ] "It should be here..."
  59. [ 08:33:40 ] [ Genevieve ] Enter and investigate the courtyard
  60. [ 08:33:43 ] [ @couchman ] There are seven roads branching from this coutyard. Most of them are barred off by large iron gates. Two of them, however, are a bit different.
  61. [ 08:34:15 ] [ @couchman ] You hear music from the direction of one of them, and lights in the distance. But two Golurks in...what look like suits are standing before it, arms crossed in front of themselves.
  62. [ 08:34:28 ] [ @couchman ] The other seems to lead to a rundown, wooden library.
  63. [ 08:35:57 ] [ Genevieve ] I'm going to stay close to the middle of the courtyard for a moment, but...
  64. [ 08:36:18 ] [ Genevieve ] "Golurks! This guy needs help, which way should I go?"
  65. [ 08:38:26 ] [ @couchman ] They look over to you casually. The right one looks to the other for a second, like it's communicating. The left one unfolds its arms. <What is that creature you hold, human?> a gruff projection asks you.
  66. [ 08:39:29 ] [ Genevieve ] "An Unown. I think someone hurt him and I was looking for the Pokecenter but now I'm here. But he really needs help."
  67. [ 08:41:04 ] [ @couchman ] It pauses, looks to the right one. They both nod. <Then it must have brought you here.> It points to the path to the library. <Go. The Writer who resides there is who you seek.>
  68. [ 08:41:26 ] [ @couchman ] <Be wary, though. She grows untrusting of outsiders with time.> It's arms return to their folded status.
  69. [ 08:41:51 ] [ Genevieve ] "Thank you! Nice suits!"
  70. [ 08:42:01 ] [ Genevieve ] Run down the path to the library
  71. [ 08:42:23 ] [ @couchman ] This building...looks very out of place for a city as advanced as your hometown.
  72. [ 08:43:30 ] [ @couchman ] The grass around it seems unkempt, way too long. The windows shattered, the door ajar, almost off its hinge. There's a low blue glow from within. It looks like something out of a ghost town in a wild west flick.
  73. [ 08:44:41 ] [ Genevieve ] Knock on the door and "Hello, is the Writer here?"
  74. [ 08:47:09 ] [ @couchman ] The door opens slightly, and a Lucario opens it ever slightly. <Whose's askin'?>
  75. [ 08:48:11 ] [ Genevieve ] "Me, I'm Genevieve Webb, and this is an Unown. The Golurks pointed me this way, can you help him, please?"
  76. [ 08:49:49 ] [ @couchman ] <The One N' Only's bouncers? Hrm. Well, if they didn't pound you into jelly then guess you're okay.> He opens the door more, letting you in. <No garuntees with the missus though. She's sorta on edge of late.>
  77. [ 08:51:04 ] [ Genevieve ] "Really? What's wrong? Though, I kind of have my hands full with this guy right now."
  78. [ 08:51:11 ] [ @couchman ] Give me an Education: Pokemon roll by the way
  79. [ 08:51:24 ] [ Genevieve ] 2d6+2
  80. [ 08:51:25 ] [ RichterBelmont ] Genevieve, 2d6+2: 6 [2d6=1,3]
  81. [ 08:52:20 ] [ @couchman ] This Lucario seems sort of old, haggard almost. You know it's easily older than you are, and has seen way better days. Quite a few deep scars.
  82. [ 08:53:05 ] [ @couchman ] <She's....depressed, but not good at expressin' it. I wouldn't worry too much, just don't panic if she gets a bit confrontational.>
  83. [ 08:53:47 ] [ @couchman ] He leads you into the library, grabbing a small lantern by the door that emits a blue flame.
  84. [ 08:54:47 ] [ Genevieve ] "Ah, yeah, I heard something like that."
  85. [ 08:55:12 ] [ @couchman ] The inside to this place is quite surprising compared to the exterior.
  86. [ 08:56:05 ] [ @couchman ] Rows after rows of neatly organized mahogany shelves, packed to the rims with books of all sorts, languages, ages. You see several other Unown floating about, reorganizing, retrieving books, putting them back.
  87. [ 08:56:42 ] [ @couchman ] Seems there's a lower level over a railing he's leading you to. <I'm all she's got left in the world aside from these guys. Everything eles has withered away on her. She's lost her place.>
  88. [ 08:56:52 ] [ @couchman ] <Be paitent with her, alright? She'll fix that little guy up for sure though.>
  89. [ 08:57:34 ] [ Genevieve ] "I'll do what I can, I'm here for his sake anyway."
  90. [ 08:58:12 ] [ @couchman ] As you approach the railing, he nods down below. It's much the same on the lower level, endless rows of books. Near the center though, a bit in the distance, you see her.
  91. [ 08:59:17 ] [ @couchman ] She's sitting on a platform overlooking a third, lower level. She's got a book in her lap she's absorbed in. White hair, dark skin, a darker dress. She's looks to be in her late fifties, but in good shape.
  92. [ 08:59:57 ] [ Genevieve ] "Excuse me, are you the Writer?"
  93. [ 09:00:07 ] [ @couchman ] There's a few odd looking unown near her. They seem to be chained together to form words. AEGIS. SABER. RIFLE. They orbit around her slowly.
  94. [ 09:00:55 ] [ @couchman ] There's no response at first. <She gets like this sometimes. Go on down and try again. She'll sense ya.>
  95. [ 09:01:24 ] [ @couchman ] He nods to a staircase, offers you the lantern, and returns to a stack of books on a nearby table.
  96. [ 09:01:56 ] [ Genevieve ] I give the Lucario and thank you nod and take the lantern while holding the Unown with the other.
  97. [ 09:02:22 ] [ Genevieve ] Then I head down the stairs carefully so as not to jostle the Unown too much.
  98. [ 09:03:52 ] [ @couchman ] As you approach her she slowly looks up from her book, and turns toward you. Her eyes are a piercing, unatural blue. Her gaze turns to the unown, and then back to you. "Speak your intentions."
  99. [ 09:04:04 ] [ @couchman ] Give me a Education: General. Something about her voice...
  100. [ 09:04:13 ] [ Genevieve ] 2d6+2
  101. [ 09:04:13 ] [ RichterBelmont ] Genevieve, 2d6+2: 11 [2d6=4,5]
  102. [ 09:04:26 ] [ @couchman ] Russian. She has a Russian accent.
  103. [ 09:05:47 ] [ Genevieve ] "I'm here looking for someone who can help this Unown. I was told you might be able to, please."
  104. [ 09:09:28 ] [ @couchman ] She hesitates a second, looks to AEGIS. It forms into a black, stainless buckler, turns on its side and hovers toward you. "Place him there. You wear the gown of the Scholar, but it seems you know not what this place is. Who are you?" There's a slight distrust in her tone. Also, perception.
  105. [ 09:10:08 ] [ Genevieve ] 2d6+2
  106. [ 09:10:09 ] [ RichterBelmont ] Genevieve, 2d6+2: 10 [2d6=4,4]
  107. [ 09:10:38 ] [ Genevieve ] I place the injured Unown on AEGIS and look back to the Writer.
  108. [ 09:10:40 ] [ @couchman ] Maybe it was the oddity of all this...maybe the light, but it's only now you notice the tassel hanging in front of you. Inspecting yourself, what you were wearing previously is gone, replaced by http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Scholar's_Attire_Set?file=SCHAF.png
  109. [ 09:11:59 ] [ Genevieve ] "The Scholar? I'm really more of a stu- oh! This is cute, but I don't remember putting it on."
  110. [ 09:12:07 ] [ @couchman ] AEGIS slowly moves back to the woman, and she inspects the S Unown's wounds.
  111. [ 09:12:19 ] [ Genevieve ] "I'm Genevieve Webb, nice to meet you."
  112. [ 09:13:28 ] [ @couchman ] "Those who enter this realm take on a form that defines their character, their purpose. Student or not, it shows your thirst for knowledge."
  113. [ 09:14:00 ] [ @couchman ] "You call me The Writer, but this is a title, not my name. I am Tentra O'Doyle. Who told you of such a title?"
  114. [ 09:14:43 ] [ Genevieve ] "The Golurks. The Lucario said they're the bouncers for The One N' Only, I guess."
  115. [ 09:15:08 ] [ Genevieve ] "And, uh, what IS this realm exactly?"
  116. [ 09:16:43 ] [ @couchman ] She scoffs. "That old braggert and lush with his accursed Aspects. The worst of neighbors. The drolling of his never ending festivities are sure to one day attract trouble upon us."
  117. [ 09:18:13 ] [ @couchman ] She puts the book aside, and places both hands over the S Unown. "It is from my memories you were woven, S, my eyes beyond this realm. It is from them you shall be rewritten as you were." Her hands move in intricate patterns as the glass seems to entirely fade away into sand. "Dust to dust, glass to sand. It is no difference. Let it be written, S, you are rewoven."
  118. [ 09:18:45 ] [ @couchman ] A small flash from the Unown's eye, and it slowly picks itself up, bobbing around slowly at first. It picks up pace, flies over to you and dances around you happily. It seems to be thanking you!
  119. [ 09:19:22 ] [ Genevieve ] "You're welcome! I'm sorry it took me so long to get here for you."
  120. [ 09:20:50 ] [ Genevieve ] "You said the Unown are your eyes? Did you create them, then?"
  121. [ 09:20:57 ] [ @couchman ] Tentra slowly stands as AEGIS returns to its normal state. "My answer to that depends on mine for yourself, Genevieve. It is clear you brought S to me, but also clear something put him in such a state. And those who would do so intend nothing but the worst for me and my home."
  122. [ 09:22:13 ] [ @couchman ] "How did you come across him, and where?"
  123. [ 09:24:09 ] [ Genevieve ] "Hmm, let's see, I was walking home and noticed this lamp was busted outside my place. There was some black stuff on it, which I guess now must have been Unown blood. I found him a trashcan, he seemed pretty scared. I only got there after the fact, I wish I knew what horrible person hurt him like that, though."
  124. [ 09:24:32 ] [ @couchman ] "Where, for you, is home, however?"
  125. [ 09:25:09 ] [ Genevieve ] "Thundercry. In Visiwa."
  126. [ 09:26:56 ] [ @couchman ] She stands stoically for a bit. "Visiwa. I see," she nods, trembling a bit. "This is troublesome."
  127. [ 09:27:26 ] [ Genevieve ] "Why's that?"
  128. [ 09:28:17 ] [ @couchman ] "I see you speak the truth and I thank you. I will answer what I can. Isaac?" She calls out, and the Lucario looks over the railing. "Fetch some tea for our guest." He nods and wanders off as she gestures toward a table.
  129. [ 09:29:43 ] [ @couchman ] Tentra takes a seat and folds her arms. "Organize your thoughts, Genevieve. As an outsider I am sure there is much of this you have questions for."
  130. [ 09:30:36 ] [ Genevieve ] I follow after Tentra and take a seat at the table, then think for a moment.
  131. [ 09:31:09 ] [ Genevieve ] "Well, yeah. Where am I, exactly? And how did I get hear, cause like five minutes ago I was still in Thundercry."
  132. [ 09:32:33 ] [ @couchman ] "This is a realm where Gods forgotten slumber. Their home, their shrines. The One And Only alone is awake among those here. But he is wary of his vurnability as his breathren slumber, and stays his place."
  133. [ 09:33:01 ] [ @couchman ] The Lucario stops by, puts two teacups, a bowl of sugar cubes, and a cast iron kettle before you before bowing and wandering back to his duty.
  134. [ 09:33:40 ] [ @couchman ] "Where you sit, was once the House of The Broken God. His time in this world has passed, and he is no more, but his shrine remains."
  135. [ 09:34:32 ] [ @couchman ] "The Unown were his creation and servants, he taught mankind to weave them in his stead, and they serve as the gateway to this realm."
  136. [ 09:34:57 ] [ @couchman ] "S brought you here as an act of good will. You should be honored. This is a rare priveledge."
  137. [ 09:36:43 ] [ Genevieve ] "I am. If this is the realm of sleeping gods, though, how is one of them awake? And is it good or bad that he's not sleeping?"
  138. [ 09:38:34 ] [ @couchman ] "I suppose it is incorrect to say all of them but him slumber," she pours you a cup of tea, and then herself, plucking two cubes into it. "The Flayed One also is awake, but wanders the world alone seeking new challenges and marks."
  139. [ 09:39:44 ] [ @couchman ] "It is neither good nor bad that they slumber. It is a natural order of their existance. Somewhat like hibernation. The two who are awake are so because they are the youngest of their pantheon, coming to power as the other five turned to slumber."
  140. [ 09:41:00 ] [ @couchman ] "It is, however, a moment of vurnability. Their absense gives rise to many problems. Team Rocket's, Astra's, Galactic's atrocities, the endless conflict in my homeland...and the growing conflcit in your own."
  141. [ 09:42:33 ] [ Genevieve ] "But the One and Only, the Flayed One, the Broken God...they don't sound like any part of the Visiwa local pantheon. Shouldn't the Keepers be in charge of protecting Visiwa?"
  142. [ 09:45:39 ] ! @couchman shakes her head. "Ah, as I said. These Gods are forgotten by most. Their shrines in the material world left to wither...yes, it is true, that is the duty of the ones you call The Keepers. And countless tales in this grand library sing their tales. I myself once served my own home's Darkrai before coming under The Broken God's wing."
  143. [ 09:45:57 ] [ @couchman ] Tentra does that, rather.
  144. [ 09:47:47 ] [ Genevieve ] "Is there a way to bring them back, then?"
  145. [ 09:48:08 ] [ @couchman ] "It's less what these deities do for us as mortals as much as what they represent. They embody raw power and concepts in our reality, and if they are to fall...stability does with it."
  146. [ 09:48:15 ] [ @couchman ] (I'm hunting around for a note I had for something just a sec.)
  147. [ 09:49:59 ] [ @couchman ] Tentra flicks her finger and a pen of shadowy energies forms. She reaches for a nearby notebook, and begins to write something.
  148. [ 09:53:02 ] [ @couchman ] "I'll start with the example of The One And Only. He embodies the very concepts of Truth and Bliss. If he were to vanish from this world, these concepts would fall into chaos."
  149. [ 09:53:52 ] [ @couchman ] "Matters percieved as facts unquestioned would warp. Depression in our world would skyrocket, for example."
  150. [ 09:54:45 ] [ @couchman ] She writes down the Types of Pokemon from Bug to Water, Normal excluded. Next to them sixteen concepts.
  151. [ 09:54:59 ] [ @couchman ] (I'll pastebin this real quick for you.)
  152. [ 10:00:49 ] [ @couchman ] She slides the following over to you after some time. http://pastebin.com/X0TAUiN9
  153. [ 10:01:26 ] [ @couchman ] "Sixteen concepts, sixteen elemental alignments. The guardian is immune from such an order."
  154. [ 10:01:57 ] [ @couchman ] "If one of them falls and a new one comes to be, it could potentially cause another to fall. Now, knowing The Broken God is no more..."
  155. [ 10:02:07 ] [ @couchman ] "I believe you're intelligent enough to see the problem."
  156. [ 10:03:14 ] [ Genevieve ] "There's room for something else to come in and mess up the balance. Whatever balance is left."
  157. [ 10:04:49 ] [ @couchman ] She nods. "There is a conflict at hand among those who once followed The Broken God. They slaughtered what once was my order in search of such a being to do as such."
  158. [ 10:05:10 ] [ @couchman ] "I had the forsight to see such a conflict could occur, and here it resides. Hopefully never to be awoken."
  159. [ 10:05:55 ] [ @couchman ] "As such, I am the singular Writer, safeguarding that vessel." she sips her tea solemnly
  160. [ 10:07:27 ] [ Genevieve ] "So, theoretically, if the Unown serve as your eyes between here and the world, whoever attacked S might have been trying to cut back your influence?"
  161. [ 10:08:36 ] [ @couchman ] "Possibly. Though I have another theory. Look over that list carefully. Something fits here. Something that could bring this conflict to a stalemate."
  162. [ 10:09:46 ] [ @couchman ] (If you get stumped roll Pokemon Education <:3c)
  163. [ 10:09:58 ] [ Genevieve ] 2d6+2
  164. [ 10:09:58 ] [ RichterBelmont ] Genevieve, 2d6+2: 14 [2d6=6,6]
  165. [ 10:10:40 ] [ @couchman ] Thinking on her comment on sixteen types, and the Pokemon named here, you think of one species, and only one species, that fits this bill.
  166. [ 10:10:42 ] [ @couchman ] Joltik.
  167. [ 10:11:28 ] [ Genevieve ] "Joltik, or I guess Galvantula really. Bug and electric aren't accounted for."
  168. [ 10:12:10 ] [ @couchman ] She nods. "If one has been gifted with this spark, this blessing, their order will be complete again. And they will be able to resist this uprising."
  169. [ 10:12:49 ] [ @couchman ] "The fact S was attacked in your homeland makes me wonder - is someone else wise to this? Hiding something, perhaps?"
  170. [ 10:14:33 ] [ Genevieve ] "Hiding a bug with a godspark? Or even that it might be somewhere on the islands."
  171. [ 10:16:24 ] [ @couchman ] "It is something I can only speculate. I am but an observer as I stand guard in this bastion. I observe, I scribe, but I cannot abandon this duty."
  172. [ 10:17:06 ] [ @couchman ] "What you do with this knowledge is your own choice, young Scholar. I cannot aid you or ask of you. Only hope you found it enlightening."
  173. [ 10:19:33 ] [ Genevieve ] "Assuming I don't wake up in a gutter, then yes, it's definitely been enlightening."
  174. [ 10:20:48 ] [ @couchman ] She chuckles. "I do not imagine that will be the case. The route S chose was a gentle one."
  175. [ 10:21:57 ] [ Genevieve ] "And it's alright that you can't interfere, I guess. I'll figure out something on my own, I'm usually pretty good at that."
  176. [ 10:22:36 ] [ @couchman ] "Hmmm."
  177. [ 10:23:48 ] [ @couchman ] "You remind me somewhat of my self in my youth. My matriarch asked a task of me that I later found to be much more than I had hoped for. To travel my homeland, record life of the average person and the foundation of a league."
  178. [ 10:24:24 ] [ @couchman ] "We found much more than we asked for," she stares down at her drink. "If this is a conflict you wish to enter yourself, there is one bit of advice I can offer you."
  179. [ 10:24:40 ] [ Genevieve ] "What's that?"
  180. [ 10:25:06 ] [ @couchman ] "Beware the tattooed ones. You will know them on sight. They are not subtle, mad and drunk with a power they do not understand."
  181. [ 10:25:25 ] [ @couchman ] "They call themselves The Sons of Grant."
  182. [ 10:27:11 ] [ Genevieve ] "Sons of Grant, huh? Alright, but where do they fit into this god struggle?"
  183. [ 10:28:10 ] [ @couchman ] She says this with a layer of content, but it fades quickly. "If this is truely something you wish to embark on yourself, I shall not hide it. Come," She gets up, and heads to the balcony overlooking the lower level.
  184. [ 10:28:31 ]  · · Nick : RichterBelmont : [ DiceMaid-9001 ]
  185. [ 10:29:34 ] [ @couchman ] (contempt* rather)
  186. [ 10:29:58 ] [ Genevieve ] I get up and follow her over to the balcony
  187. [ 10:30:28 ] [ @couchman ] She looks down. "In the home of the broken lord, it sleeps."
  188. [ 10:31:01 ] [ @couchman ] There's...something down there. Roll Focus.
  189. [ 10:31:17 ] [ Genevieve ] 2d6
  190. [ 10:31:17 ] [ DiceMaid-9001 ] Genevieve, 2d6: 9 [2d6=6,3]
  191. [ 10:33:13 ] [ @couchman ] Looking at it fills you with a sense of easiness. It's a truely monstrious creature. An amalgamation of twisted darkness and hundreds of thousands of eyes, luckily all closed. It's dificult to tell what it's form is, as it's curled up in rest. Easily the size of an airship carrier, though.
  192. [ 10:33:33 ] [ @couchman ] uneasiness*
  193. [ 10:33:47 ] [ Genevieve ] "What...-is- it though?"
  194. [ 10:34:51 ] [ @couchman ] "It is a creature that should not have existed. Born in an effort to retain all the knowledge of the ages, it gained sentience. A creature who devours knowledge and life itself. The Devourer."
  195. [ 10:35:04 ] [ @couchman ] "The Sons of Grant seek to free it, and let it loose upon the world."
  196. [ 10:35:22 ] [ Genevieve ] "And that doesn't seem like an obviously bad idea to them?'
  197. [ 10:36:48 ] [ @couchman ] She looks to you quizzically. "They do. It's their intention."
  198. [ 10:36:57 ] [ @couchman ] "An end to all things."
  199. [ 10:37:36 ] [ Genevieve ] "I didn't think people that crazy were real, but alright. Sons of Grant, Devourer, both bad. I'll keep an eye out."
  200. [ 10:39:16 ] [ @couchman ] She nods. "It is a terrible thing to come to terms with. Such is the world we live in."
  201. [ 10:40:26 ] [ @couchman ] "I wish you luck, Genevieve. If you do find yourself here again one day, I would love to hear of your tales. Isaac will show you the way home when you are ready."
  202. [ 10:41:09 ] [ Genevieve ] "I think I've imposed on you enough for now. Before I go, where's S?"
  203. [ 10:42:16 ] [ @couchman ] She looks around a bit, focuses on a direction. A bit later S comes floating along.
  204. [ 10:43:20 ] [ Genevieve ] "S, come here, I have something for you!"
  205. [ 10:45:00 ] [ @couchman ] He floats over close to you, sort of nods.
  206. [ 10:46:39 ] [ Genevieve ] "I'm glad you're all better, just try to be a little more careful. Bye~" and then pull the Unown over to give him a kiss.
  207. [ 10:47:39 ] [ Genevieve ] "Thanks for the information, I'm going back home now. Isaac, where are you?"
  208. [ 10:47:45 ] [ @couchman ] SMOOCH. He seems confused a bit, then flutters off quickly. Tentra chuckles. "He's embarrased. Thank you for being kind to him. I will not let him go out again unprepared."
  209. [ 10:48:14 ] [ @couchman ] The Lucario shuffles over. <Right here, miss. Follow along, it's easier in than out to be honest.>
  210. [ 10:48:37 ] [ Genevieve ] "Lead the way."
  211. [ 10:50:00 ] [ @couchman ] He leads you to an empty doorframe near the end of the library, it seems to go nowhere. <Get over here ya goofs the lady's guest wishes to depart.> he barks at some Unowns nearby reading some comic books.
  212. [ 10:51:08 ] [ @couchman ] They flutter over, four of them, and each take a corner of the doorframe. A shimmering portal slowly forms between them. <Simply speak your destination, miss, and you'll be there. Thanks for entertainin' her. Been a while since she's had guests.>
  213. [ 10:52:36 ] [ Genevieve ] "No problem. It's been, uh, educational."
  214. [ 10:53:01 ] [ Genevieve ] I'll give the portal my home address, if that'll work.
  215. [ 10:53:19 ] [ @couchman ] The image focuses to the front door of your apartment.
  216. [ 10:54:14 ] [ Genevieve ] "Bye Isaac, bye Unown, see ya later~"
  217. [ 10:55:13 ] [ Genevieve ] I give the Lucario a wave and step through the portal
  218. [ 10:55:47 ] [ @couchman ] The door opens with a familiar creek, and you step back into your apartment's entryway. A click sounds behind you. Still got the outfit you had before, but...well, you're home.
  219. [ 10:56:41 ] [ @couchman ] As for how this fateful encounter developed, well, that's a tale for another day (or like 30 minutes if we can get the others to discuss things now :D)
  220. [ 10:56:43 ] [ @couchman ] </intro>
