  1. Vegan Tattoo Inks and Treatments List
  2. This is a list of all vegan tattoo ink and treatment brands I could find, I will add to this list if I find out about more companies that are or went vegan.
  3. The great thing about the tattoo inks list, is that these are prominent brands in the tattoo world, so they are widely used by tattoo artists. Some tattoo artists might not even know that the ink they use is vegan, because some just don’t care about that information. So always try to ask what brand of ink they use so you can determine if it’s vegan or not, although I’ve read about tattoo artists not wanting to give out that information… But I think most won’t make a big deal out of it though.
  4.
  5. These companies have confirmed that their inks are vegan and the glycerin used is plant based (colophony).

  23. I Max brands includes: Makkuro Sumi Blacks, Makkuro Sumi Colors, Azayaka Live Tattoo Colors, Universal Blacks, Cobra Inks, Flashing Colors, Glam Colors, Pure Colors.
  24.
  25. I’m not sure if MOMs Nuclear Colors is vegan, so I did not put them in this list. There is only one tattoo shop blog (Tattoo Lous) that says that it is proven vegan all the other sites say they are not sure MOMs is in fact vegan. Same goes for the Millennium tattoo ink (which I think is manufactured by MOMs). Some tattoo artists mix their own inks, always ask if the glycerin they use is plant based! And watch out for India Ink in black inks as it consists of burned animal bones.

  29. Tattoo Aftercare (Balms, ointments, lotions)
  30. Most tattoo shops will provide you with “Green Soap” (contains glycerin) or A&D ointment (contains lanolin) which are not vegan, so watch out for that. A good alternative to A&D ointment is Bacitracin Zinc ointment. And a good alternative for Green Soap seems to be Dr. Bronner’s Lavender Liquid Soap. When at home just use a vegan friendly anti-bacterial soap and you should be fine and when you’re done washing use a fragrance free lotion on it. Check tattoo balms for lanolin.
  31. EDIT: Just read that Green Soap is in fact vegan, the glycerin is plant based! One worry less ;) (http://vegantattooeducation.blogspot.com/p/vegan-tattoo-inks_17.html)
