  1. Room description:
  2. %r%tThis room is distinct from the rest of the hotel in that its resident has clearly applied some old-fashioned elbow-grease and classic American hard work to the interior. All the same, the work clearly isn't professional: cracks in the walls have been patched with a visible layer of caulk, the floor has been meticulously cleaned but the most stubborn of stains remain, and one can discern that the small, half-oval light fixture that dims the bulb behind it into a pleasant yellow glow was likely once a single bulb dangling from the ceiling by a few wires. The scent of cigarettes, scotch, and cigars battle the natural grungy scent of the hotel itself, and they are almost successful.%r%r%tThere's a desk likely claimed from a dumpster facing toward the front door with a filing cabinet within reach, giving the room the feel of an office at first glance. The rest of the furniture is of equal quality: a small dresser rests off in a corner of the room, stained the same color as the desk, and a floor-level cot tucked away as though to distract from the notion that this is also a living area rests on the floor, neatly made with sheets and a thin blanket. There's a mini-fridge between the dresser and cot with a petite toaster oven on top of it, and a small end table cot with a lamp and a few books, with classic literature and investigation how-to manuals mixed in equal measure.%r%r%tOff to one side is a single door, no doubt leading into a tiny bathroom.%r

  7. Description for Desk-place:
  8. %r%tA desk, no doubt taken from some dumpster nearby, has been stained to look like mahogany and faced toward the front door. It's contents include a closed, password protected laptop with a few layers of encryption, and a typewriter that might be thought to be only decoration were it not for the collection of papers haphazardly stacked beside it. There's also a small notepad and a few pens and pencils as well as a glass ashtray and a nearly-empty pack of Lucky Strikes. Completing the surface is a nameplate that reads 'Machiavelli Leone III, P.I.'. Beside the desk is a metal filing cabinet painted gray, lending to the professional atmosphere of the otherwise beaten down room. Behind the desk is a brown pleather office chair, and before it are two slightly less comfortable seats, spread just far enough apart from one another to allow adequate personal space.%r
