  1. The Visitor landed in the African plains.
  2.
  3. He didn't bring the others here. First of all, they were busy dealing with FADE, which is how he thought was the only reason he was able to hack into FADE's network undetected in the first place. They were busy dealing with his friends. Second of all, if the other members of his species were still here, he didn't want his friends near them unless they were Worker Caste. Who knew what another Science Caste would do to them? How would a Noble Caste's pheremones affect a human? And then there was the obvious reasons why...
  4.
  5. Anyway, he got to searching. Using a geigometer he altered with some old iPhone parts, he walked along the plains in his natural form, the nearest human settlement being hundreds of miles away. He knew what to look for, but the device would help point him in the right direction.
  6.
  7. He couldn't find the exact location in FADE's networks. All he could work out was that a member of his species (and of course they wouldn't describe what it looked like, because that would make things so simple) was found somewhere in this area. He'd worked it down to a hundred mile radius, but even then that was a lot of ground to scour by sheer bugpower.
  8.
  9. So he made this device to help locate the particles that his trans-dimensional teleportation device left behind. Finding them would be easy. Hopefully, finding out what Caste had landed in the plains would be just as easy. He got a weak reading and followed it. And followed it. And followed it. For hours he walked, not wanting to fly in case he went too fast and lost their trail.
  10.
  11. He had looked through FADE's files. They'd called the other one that came through the Invader. However none of the information he could find was accurate about any of the castes, leading him to believe that they had no idea what they were dealing with. That or the Assassin Caste was real, but the Queens had assured everyone that there was no such thing as a secret Caste of assassins to kill dissidents and rebels. Even if they did exist, which they didn't, then their anatomy couldn't be that radically different.
  12.
  13. He had let his mind wander. His guard was down. He was thinking too much about what he might find. That's why he didn't see it coming. A cheetah had pounced on him, and before he could even struggle against it, the beast had its teeth around his neck, trying to snap it. The only reason he lived was because his exoskeleton had recently hardened into something resembling flexible bulletproof kevlar. The Visitor thrust his head back, ramming his skull into the nose of the animal. It let out a strange sound of pain and lept back, and the Visitor scrambled to his feet.
  14.
  15. He turned around just in time to see the Cheetah sprinting back at him. This time the Visitor was ready. The Cheetah lept... and flew 30 feet into the air before dropping like a stone, the Visitor using his telekenesis to make the creature have a short flight. Before it could get back up, he flew over and tossed it another 20 feet. The cheetah got the point and ran off. The Visitor let it go on its way. He dusted himself off, picked his particle tracking device back up, and went back on the hunt.
  16.
  17. It turned out he didn't have far to go. He smelled it before he saw it. He flew towards the source of the stench and saw the carnage that lay before him: An entire herd of elephants, ripped open from various places, guts strewn about, the odd bite taken out of their hides, their ivory untouched. Noble Caste wouldn't have let the valuables go to waste. Science Caste would have made much cleaner cuts and only touched one or two of the animals. Worker Caste wouldn't have even fought, and instead would have burrowed. For the first time since he arrived, the Visitor felt a deep, dark, cold, almost forgotten fear.
  18.
  19. The Invader was a Warrior Caste.
