Dear Dr. Holland
Today after class, my professor, Doctor Lee Emanuel, asked to speak with me in his office. As I walked into his office, he sat down, looked at me with a disgruntled look on his face, and asked me "Why did your mother call my boss?" After being asked this question, I was mostly confused, because I cannot recall my mother calling Mr. Tim Brotherton within the past few weeks. I know she called him when I first began the class because my professor wouldn't sign my accomadation forms. The next thing he began to say was that he thought he and I had come to an understanding about him not signing the accomadation papers. I told him that he had to sign the papers, and he kept saying "No, I don't". After which I then tried to make it clear that he had to sign them because it is the law; he still refused. His reasoning for not siging the papers was that he would then be obligated to carry out finding a note taker for me and extending the time while I took my exams.
Regarding the exams, he told me that he previously made it clear that I would have double time for my exams. At this point, I corrected him, and said that he merely said that he would give me the period to complete my exams. After this, he began to tell me that his exams are 55 minute exams, and that the class was 1 hour and 10 minutes long. I then told him that that may be true, but the class in question was the full hour and ten minutes long, and that this is not the double time that I am supposed to have.
Regarding the possibility of a note taker, he told me that he didn't have the right to perform background checks on everyone to see if they would be a trustworthy asset to my note taking. I kept telling him that I did not need a note taker, and he asked me "Then why is it on the accomadation paper?" I told him that I did not write it, and also that if I myself didn't request a note taker, then I wouldn't need a note taker. After that, he then said that if I didn't need a note taker, and that if I had failed the class, I would have tried to blame it all on him because I didn't have the "required" note taker.
At the beginning of the meeting, he sat down and attempted to call Tim Brotherton to join us. This entire ordeal has made me feel extremely harassed and upset to the point where I had to halt my daily routine, call the KAP staff, and have them pick me up.
Sincerely,
Dustin Bullins
