MEDIA RESOURCES: #SnowdenTreaty may be the most significant post-Snowden development & it needs your help!

You can protect whistleblowers and stop mass surveillance. Here is how:

At 1pm EDT (approx 3 hours from the time this pastebin is posted), activist and community organiser David Miranda, his Pulitzer Prize-winner partner Glenn Greenwald and Oscar-winning Director Laura Poitras will host a press conference at Thoughtworks to announce the 'Snowden Treaty' - a new International Treaty on the Right to Privacy, Protection Against Improper Surveillance and Protection of Whistleblowers.

If enough of us support the adoption of this Treaty, it would create a bloc of eight (or more) countries that will provide joint asylum and protection for Edward Snowden and other past, present and future whistleblowers who could then travel freely between them. It also introduces a number of privacy protections, commitments and measures against the mass surveillance that Snowden and others have revealed has been imposed upon humanity without public consent.

TAKE ACTION: Use the below information to follow the social media accounts, amplify the photos, articles and hashtag content. Share the information across all your networks. Tweet your thoughts on the treaty, on mass surveillance, the need for and fundamental right to privacy and other messages of support to the hashtags.
