Dark Souls 2 NG+ Checklist, Merchant and Farming Info

NG+ Checklist

- Kill all NPCs and purchase their armor from the Merchant Hag Melentia at Majula
- Kill Licia of Lindelt using the Crushed Eye Orb from the Undead Crypt
- Buy all items that are obtainable only in limited quantity:
  - Human Effigies
  - Bonfire Ascetics
  - Elemental & Twinkling Titanite
  - Petrified Dragon Bones
- Buy all upgrade materials that you think you'll need in NG+
- Buy all Boss Weapons, Armor, and Spells while you still can
- Farm all the enemies that drop items that you want until they despawn
- Learn all gestures from NPCs
- Kill the Ancient Dragon, Darklurker, and any other optional bosses you may have missed
- Collect all Giant Souls and kill Vendrick:
  -  Memory of Giant Orro
  - Memory of Giant
  - Memory of Giant
  - The two giants located under Black Gulch
  - The Ancient Dragon
- Obtain Vendrick's soul and armor in Shrine of Mana (hug the left ledge after the second bonfire, must be human)
- Farm the Giant Memories for souls, Twinkling Titanite, and Bonfire Ascetics

    Maughlin The Armorer:
    Located in: Majula
    Spend 1000 souls: Royal Solider Armor and Elite Armor Spend 16000 souls: Alva's Armor
    After spending 16000 souls if you talk to him with zero souls in your inventory and you are undead he will give you Armor of Aurous
    Boss armor: Defeat these bosses and he will have them in the inventory:
    Smelter Demon Armor
    Looking Glass Knight Armor
    Lost Sinner Armor
    Throne Defender Armor
    Throne Watcher Armor
    Lastly he sells the Moon Butterfly armor set if you defeat all the bosses in New game +1 and New game +2

    Sweet Shalquoir:
    Located in: Majula
    Flying Feline Boots: clear Brighstone Cove Tseldora
    Unlimited: Prism Stones, Alluring Skulls, Llyod's Talisman's, and Homeward Bones after opening The Shrine of Winter

    Blacksmith Lenigrast:
    Located in: Majula
    Sells basic weapons and limited titanite shards.
    Doesn't update like most of the others but will give you a hammer if you spend 8000 souls on him.

    Merchant Hag Melentia:
    Located in: The Forest of Fallen Giants, exhaust all conversation options and she will move to Majula.
    Agdayne's Armor: Kill Warden Agdayne
    Creighton's Armor: Kill Creighton
    Benhart's Armor: Kill Benhart
    Pate's Armor and Weapons: Kill Pate
    Cales Armor: Kill Cale
    Lucatiel's Armor and Weapons: Kill Lucatiel
    Black Armor Set: Kill Straid of Olaphis

    Stone Trader Chloanne:
    Located in: Harvest Valley, exhaust all conversation options and she will move to Majula.
    Unlimited Titanite Shard: Clear Iron Keep
    Unlimited Large Titanite Shard: Clear Drangleic Castle
    Unlimited Titanite Chunks: Added to inventory after clearing The Undead Crypt, infinite after defeating the final boss.

    Steady Hand McDuff:
    Located in: The Lost Bastille, this is a permanent location. You have to blow up the wall near him (Near where the guy rolls the barrel down. Use Firebombs
    All weapons and shields he sells become unlimited in New Game +

    Lonesome Gavlan:
    Located in: Talk to him in no-mans wharf, harvest valley and he will permanently move to The Doors Of Pharros he then sells unlimited Poison Moss, Rotten Pine resin, poison throwing knives, and poison arrows.

    Cromwell The Pardoner:
    Located in: Located in Brightstone Cove Tseldora in the Chapel. Their is a ladder to the right of the exit of the building it's well hidden.
    Sells everything right off the bat and does not expand.
    Gives: Ring of Resistance if your Faith is 35 or Higher.

    Carhillion Of The Fold:
    Located in: No Man's Wharf, after talking to him and killing the Flexile Sentry he will move to Majula.
    Spells: Sells unlimited spells after passing through the Shrine of Winter
    Gives: Northern Ritual Band +1 if your intelligence is 30 or more.

    Laddersmith Gilligan:
    Located in: Earthen Peak, buy his ladder or defeat the Boss and he will move to Majula.
    Sells unlimited Stock by default

    Straid of Olaphis:
    Located in: The Lost Bastille near the belfry bonfire (servants one) you need a Fragrant Branch of Yore to un-petrify him.
    Great Lightning spear and Sunlight blade are sold after clearing the Undead Crypt
    Trade Boss souls to him to unlock unique weapons, the boss souls he takes are:

    The Pursuer

    Flexile Sentry
    Executioner Chariot
    Skeleton Lord

    Located in: Heide's Tower of Flame, then after exhausting all her dialogue moves in the area connecting Majula and Heide's Tower.
    Unlimited Spells after passing through The Shrine of Winter (So pass through it lol)

    Felkin The Outcast:
    Located in: Huntsman's Copse sitting in a chair near the very beginning.
    Requires a certain level (apparently 10 each) of int and faith to access his wares.
    Gives: His Hex Set when your Intelligence and Faith is 20 or higher

    Vengarl of Forossa:
    Shaded Woods, very easy to miss his as he only has his head. In the woods if you hang to left in the big fogged area you'll enter an area with a stack of stones. In the rubble his head is there.
    Expands his ware to include his Red Rust Items after you defeat his body.
    Gives: His helmet after exhausting all conversation with him.

    Weaponsmith Ornifex:
    Located in: Shaded Ruins, you have to un petrify the lion solider near the acid cave to get the Fang Key. Use it on the locked door AND DO NOT ATTACK HER SHE LOOKS LIKE THE CROW DEMON FROM THE LAST GAME. She then after talking to her moves to her permanent location inBrightstone Cove Tseldora.
    Sells unlimited Items except for amber Herbs and Green blossoms that become unlimited after defeating Nashandra
    Trading these boss souls will give you weapons:

    Chancellor Wellager:
    Located in: Drangleic Castle, this is a permanent location.
    Sells unlimited right off the bat, but expands upon beating the Looking Glass Knight. And expands again with new spells after you beat the Looking Glass Knight and the final boss in new Game +++
    Gives: Royal Dirk, Espada Ropera after defeating the Giant Lord. You have to talk to him.

    Royal Sorcerer Navlaan:
    Located in: Aldia's keep. Talk to him while hollowed and human for different responses. Only talking to him hallowed sets up the assassination quests though.
    Sells unlimited Greatarrows off the bat:
    Gives: dispelling ring, simpleton's Spice, Forbidden Sun, Unleash Magic and finally gives his armor set after completing all of his assassination requests.

    Grave Warden Agdayne:
    Located in: Undead Crypt, does not move.
    Sells everything off the bat, does not expand.
    Gives: his armor set after talking to him after obtaining the King's Ring.

Farming Guide

Item Discovery Gear:
Armor:
- Explorer's Hat, bought from Merchant Hag Melentia in Forest of Fallen Giants or Majula
- Jester's Hat, bought from the merchant at the entrance of Iron Keep
- Prisoner's Tatters, dropped by the hollows in The Gutter, Huntsman's Copse, and the Undead Crypt
Rings:
- Covetous Gold Serpent Ring +1/+2, +1 is acquired from the merchant at the entrance of the Iron Keep if you are wearing the Explorer's Hat while talking to him, +2 is acquired from killing NG+ Belfry Gargoyles in Belfry Luna
Misc.:
- Rusted Coin, bought from the merchant at the entrance of the Iron Keep, dropped by black phantoms in Bell Towers Luna & Sol
- Bonfire Ascetic, starting gift, pickup in various locations, bought from Grandahl, Navlaan, and Chloanne, dropped by black phantoms and spirits in The Dark Chasm of Old
- Homeward Bone, Aged Feather (optional)

Souls Acquired Gear:
Armor:
- Tseldora set, dropped by infected undead in Brightstone Cove
- Nahr Alma set, dropped by Titchy Gren and bought from Merchant Hag Melentia in Majula
Rings:
- Covetous Silver Serpent Ring +1/+2, +1 is acquired from Merchant Hag Melentia after spending 10,000 souls on her inventory, +2 is acquired from killing NG+ Mytha, the Baneful Queen in Earthen Peak

Step 1:
Find what you want to farm, and equip all of the above.
Step 2:
Start killing it in the most efficient way that works for you. Warp back to the nearest bonfire using a Homeward Bone or the Aged Feather after you've killed everything.
Step 3:
If enemies you are farming have stopped spawning, burn a bonfire ascetic at the bonfire that logically corresponds to their location; this will bring them all back, but at the cost of bumping up the area's difficulty by 1 NG+, permanently. Buffs carry over to NG+ and beyond.
Step 4:
If you're not getting what you want, suck it up, stop bitching, and keep farming.

Misc.:
- In certain areas, burning another bonfire ascetic will require you to beat the respawned area boss
- Red Phantoms and their rare drops can be farmed by repeatedly burning bonfire ascetics to respawn them, make sure your item discovery is as high as possible when you kill them because they only spawn once per bonfire ascetic burned

Small Titanite Shards:
- Dropped by Undead Blacksmiths in Harvest Valley, common
- Bought from Lenigrast, Chloanne (finite)
- Bought from Chloanne after beating the Old Iron King (infinite)
- Common pickup from corpses and chests
- Crystal Lizards

Large Titanite Shards:
- Dropped by Worms in Black Gulch, Peasants in Brightstone Cove, uncommon
- Bought from Steady Hand McDuff after bringing him the Dull Ember from Iron Keep (infinite)
- Bought from Chloanne after moving to Majula (finite)
- Bought from Chloanne after beating the Looking Glass Knight (infinite)
- Uncommon pickup from corpses and chests
- Crsytal Lizards

Titanite Chunks:
- Dropped by Worms in Black Gulch, Peasants in Brightstone Cove, Gyrm in Doors of Pharros, uncommon

Unique Farming Methods:
Burning a bonfire ascetic at A Place Unbeknownst bonfire in Forest of Fallen Giants will respawn 2x Twinkling Titanite on a ledge below the Memory of Giant Jeigh next to the bonfire. Within the Memories of Giants Jeigh, Orro, and Vammar, it will respawn the following in the Giant Memories:

Kill the Giant Lord and burn another Bonfire Ascetic to repeat the process

Burning a bonfire ascetic at Dragon Aerie's bonfire will respawn all the crystal lizards in the area, as well as the three wyverns guarding then. This will net you a ton of Titanite at the cost of one bonfire ascetic and having to fight or avoid the three progressively more difficult wyverns.
