  1.  --------------------------[ Rhythm Games ]--------------------------
  2.  >But Anon, why the fuck should I play rhythm games?
  3. Well.
  4. >Gorillions of hours of gametime
  5. >gitting gud is necessary
  6. >very high/very very high skill ceiling in most games
  7. >no bullshit (unless you're playing shit charts or shit games but you don’t do that)

  10. --------------------------[ K-Shoot Mania ]--------------------------
  11. Its fucking Sound Voltex but on PC, customizable-ish and user made tracks are available for dl along with SDVX converts if you know where to get them.
  12. The main community is on fucking facebook of all things, so that is a piece of shit but I usually just get someone to relay all the shit to me.
  13. Yes its more fun to play on a controller but its still very possible to play on a keyboard, you're not at an inane disadvantage by being on keyboard.
  14. Game can have performance issues and is generally not exactly the definition of "Quality" but its the best we got until Effect Drive 2 gets completed or a few other projects which have been more or less dead recently

  16. If you want to play actual SDVX then hit up your local Round 1 if youre in burgerland or any arcade if you’re in Nippon/Asia.
  17. There may or may not be a hefty chart pack floating around with SDVX rips.
  18. Ask in the skype group/discord group or through some sort of PM

  20. --------------------------[ osu! ]-----------------------------------
  21. --------------[ comes with 4 different gamemodes ]-------------------
  22.
  23. Generally seen as a joke in every other rhythm game community for reasons you either already know or will soon find out if you stick around.
  24. https://osu.ppy.sh/
  25. ==Standard==
  26. Its basically ouendan just on PC not DS. While fun and has its good sides, scoring is fundamentally flawed since it relies on combos. Ill let you figure out the rest.
  27. ==Taiko==
  28. Its, well Taiko
  29. As far as I know it’s a pretty solid version, lots of good maps too as far as I know.
  30. If you wanted to play Taiko but don’t have money to import Tatsujin or there are no arcades around you like for the most of us then go ahead and play this shit.
  31. ==Catch the Beat==
  32. You catch fruits…to the beat? I assume this is based off of EZ2catcher but fuck If I know. Shit looks pretty insane later on though and its pretty fun overall.
  33. ==osu!mania==
  34. Its Stepmania/o2jam and you could argue IIDX (You can also just play some of the actual games)
  35. All gamemodes are pretty skinnable, easy to customise by yourself and shit. You can always ask for help about this in the thread or look for a skinning guide on the forums, there’s quite a few.

  40.
  41. More or less same thing as osu!mania 4k just with some differences that probably wouldn’t make any difference for you if you’re reading this in the first place.
  42. This is essentially stepmania just on a keyboard.
  43. >but anon that kills the point of the game I cant even dance ;(((((((
  44. No disrespect to DDRfags or PIUfags, just not my thing tbh fam.
  45. Dancing is for casuals, you cant do 300bpm jumpstream with a dancepad Anon.

  48. --------------------------[ Lunatic Rave 2 ]--------------------------
  49. http://www.lr2.sakura.ne.jp/index2.html
  50. Lunatic Rave is the probably best beatmaniaIIDX simulator. It plays more than 7+1k as well so you always can play different keymodes if you wish. Also commonly used as a Pop,n Music simulator.
  51. http://bms.bemaniso.ws/files.php?group=iidx&style=21
  52. Here you can DL a lot of the tracks from the actual beatmaniaIIDX games
  53. They don’t count for the LR2 internet ranking but they’re great charts for the most part and good practice. Also you get all those IIDX classics such as RED ZONE, Mei, etc along with all the new shit. That page should be updated relatively soon with possibly Pendual tracks and such. I wouldn’t know though.
  54.
  55. Lunatic Rave 2 can be a bit of a bitch to set up sometimes so here’s a very comprehensive guide on how to get started.

  59. --------------------------[ DJMAX ]--------------------------
  60. I don’t know anything about it other than it’s a VSRG with an insane UI but heres a guide by an Anon who was willing to help out.
  61.
  62. 2b-8b, (4b-6b)+2, 3b-6b+analog stick track switch(what?), touch rhythm
  63. Great rhythm series for psp, but also has 1 game on pc which is a little harder, because reasons. Some parts of the series have auto-correct feature(which can be turned off in the options), but I personally don’t find any problem with it.
  64. 1-Hot tunes - no auto-correct, pretty solid overall, for the selection of songs I'd say that first is the best.
  65. Fever - westernized somewhat less stable game, introduces auto-correct.
  66. Clazziquai - wiiu wiiu wiiu CASUAL ALERT, 2 button mode, focused around easier charts and some korean group, has some decent exclusive somewhat challenging songs(note: every other game pretty much share the same songs that at least once are used twice in the series), requires some fiddling to boot on a cfw every time you launch it.
  67. Black square - solid entry that introduces fair amount of new good songs, finally has an introductory mode(like 5b and 7b in Trilogy) to a 8b i.e. 6b + 2 shoulder.
  68. 3 - Jesus Christ, nigger, what are you doing?!??1! At start has ridiculously small amount of tracks, because there is new remix mode which is shit, absolute garbage, who thought of it should die in a fire. As I understand requires much more grinding to unlock new songs, which is unfortunate because I'm not gonna bear that shitty remix mode.
  69. Trilogy - 1-BS minus 3/4 of the new songs minus clazziquai. Despite its name doesn't feature songs from 3. Overall a best option to experience the series on PC, but has different beatmaps for some songs and features whole new 7b mode, meaning that every part of the series is still worth experiencing regardless if you played some games or not.
  70. I dont have NoGamesPortable so cant say much about the game on it. What I saw though is that it abolished its older standard vertical scroll mechanic and relies on a gimmick touchscreen.
  71. ==O2Mania==
  72. 4b-7b
  73. Offline pc repack of O2Jam. Features songs from djmax as a separate entity from the main game, but O2Jam is based around odd number button gamemodes rather than even like in djmax(so gameplay is kinda off, which why it is separate from a main game). Feels more like an emulator or a simulator of a rhythm game(you'll see what I mean), because it doesn’t really store scores and you have some array of specific actions like reboot the song on the go, just stop it dead in its tracks or autoclick, but that doesn’t hinder the rhythm experience r-r-right?. Torrent releases have tons of tracks and probably features them all(???). And if you are still not satisfied there is some site which releases content for it.

  75.
  76. --------------------------[ O2JAM ]--------------------------
  77. o2jam is kinda weird, depends what server you're playing on, then you find out what to do, ive never actually played so I don’t fucking know, cant be too hard though. Any o2jam fags wanna improve the pasta? I never personally played it so I wouldn’t know Feel free to hit up VSRG.club as they would know, also im pretty sure they run a server.

  80. --------------------------[ MISC ]--------------------------
  81. IIDX/SDVX/Reflec/Pop’n/jubeat etc etc all the bemani shit is in arcades if in Nippon and some of Asia as well as now recently Round 1 arcades in burgerland. Otherwise its very much on the down low. Most simulators which do actually exist do a pretty good job though and you’re not really missing out on much except for the arcade atmosphere and nicer visuals.
  82.
  83. If you're desperate enough you'll find stuff out anyway.
