  1. Firstly, a big shout out to Bosse for the tips he’s put forward.
  2.
  3. I realise their is quite a lot of text here and may seem overwhelming, particularly
  4. To those of you who're new. This isn't meant to all be read, the first line of
  5. Every bullet point is quite enough to get you the idea, if you are interested in all
  6. The details, then it's available to you. Feel free to Mail me on 'James092' or
  7. Any other ranked/respected member of the alliance and ask questions, that’s why
  8. We’re appointed, so we can help you.
  9. You can search each headline below to get to something you wanna know about quickly.

  11. -       Building Tips
  12. -       Troop Tips
  13. -       Hero Tips
  14. -       General Tips
  15. -       Things You MUST Do
  16. -       Fight Tips
  17.
  18.
  19. Firstly, building tips:
  20.
  21. - Don't go overboard on cottages, a city can be incredibly successful with few
  22. Cottages, believe it or not you WILL need the free space later on. Don't
  23. rush to finish it.
  24.
  25. - Barracks, use every spare slot you can for barracks. The reason
  26. for this is because you get the happiest thing in the game in a barracks
  27. while creating troops. "Split production to all barracks", when you do this your
  28. troops are split between each troop. So if you are building 1000 troops that take
  29. 1000 minuets and have 10 barracks. Each single barracks will produce 100 troops and take
  30. 100 minuets. So it takes a 1/10th of the time.
  31.
  32. - Get your productions up before getting more important buildings at least to a
  33. handy point, you don't wanna hit a full stop when you can't support your own
  34. buildings.
  35.
  36. - Get your embassy to a suitable level! This is a MUST, the higher the embassy
  37. the more sets of troops can reinforce you.
  38.
  39. - Get Workshop 5 and Academy 4 as quick as possible. You Really REALLY
  40. want to get Metal casting and Archery up for Ballistas, These are very helpful for
  41. farming.
  42.
  43. - When making production buildings, don't go straight for getting level 8s/9s. A
  44. little level 5 Sawmills is just as effective as a level nine, much cheaper and quicker
  45. although.
  46.
  47. - Get Archer Towers are soon as you can afford them, don't put all your
  48. resources into them, possibly make half of the maximum you can. You need to mix
  49. Archer Towers with troops otherwise they’re effectiveness is decreased significantly.
  50.
  51. - Later on, I believe it’s from Walls level 6 and up, Archer Towers most importantly
  52. gain a 5% increase in range per level, so Archer Towers on level 10 walls have 20% more range
  53. than archer towers on level 6 walls. If I've got the numbers wrong feel free to
  54. correct me.
  55.
  56. -       Get a relief station as soon as possible; we need to be able to reinforce you extremely quickly if you’re under attack.
  57.
  58.
  59.
  60. Troop Tips:
  61.
  62. - Please avoid building workers, they're only REAL usefulness is building cities.
  63.
  64. - Workers, these will be your cheap little saviours later of them, think of them as
  65. the French in WW2, a useful distraction, yet still incredibly weak.
  66. These work incredibly well for defence with Archers.
  67.
  68. - Scouts, The MAIN reason to have a lot of scouts, is so you can't be scouted.
  69. If you have your gates open and someone attempts to scout you, your scouts and
  70. your opponents scouts will fight it out, if he looses, he gets no intel. :)
  71. Scout bombs are also very useful, if you're interested skip to Fight Tips.
  72.
  73. - Pike men, Unfortunately, not particularly good at their job, although they're
  74. Anti-Calvary they're generally outdone by archers on defence later game.
  75.
  76. - Swordsman, same as above, on defence Archer Towers and Archers are much more important.
  77.
  78. - Archers, YOU NEED THEM. And you need to cover them in Warriors to protect them.
  79. Archers will be your main unit for defence, there's different strategies for
  80. attacking, but defending and Archers are NEEDED.
  81.
  82. - Calvary, Needed when you're taking out a city. They hit hard and fast for lowering
  83. loyalty, since Scouts can no longer do damage to the walls.
  84.
  85. - Cataphract, These are INCREDIBLY defensive, so defensive they hit the MAXIMUM
  86. possible defence stat before even getting to iron defence nine.
  87. Unfortunately they're very difficult to feed and not as useful as they should be.
  88.
  89. - Transports, Simply, they’re needed. No getting out of it, you need them for farming
  90. and taking out powerful targets.
  91.
  92. - Ballista, same as above, required for farming NPC cities to acquire a lot of food.
  93.
  94. - Battering Ram, very useful against Cataphracts if my knowledge is current,
  95. however not as good as they should be.
  96.
  97. - Catapults, they're more impressive to look at than they’re actual combat
  98. ability, at a certain point in the game they become useless.
  99.
  100.
  101.
  102. Hero Tips:
  103.
  104. - Tip number one, if you wanna look cool, Name your hero Queen.
  105. They're name is highlighted, cool, huh? :)
  106.
  107. - You'll need 2 mainly, 3 ideally. An Attack and a Politics hero.
  108. Politics improves how quick things build and how many resources come in from
  109. production buildings.
  110. Attack improves the overall stats of your troops in a battle, very handy.
  111. You have the option of an intelligence hero to decrease the time researches take.
  112.
  113. - Make your attack hero mayor while setting troops to build because it takes ALOT
  114. of time off the overall time before you split to all.
  115.
  116. - Make your politics hero mayor most of the time; it's your general mayor.
  117.
  118. - Make your intelligence hero mayor when you click Research on a Research. It reduces the time dramatically on upgrades you'll all find tedious.
  119.
  120.
  121.
  122. General Tips:
  123.
  124. -       ALWAYS keep the boxes in your rally spot and embassy TICKED. Otherwise we can’t reinforce you and even if we could they wouldn’t fight.
  125.
  126. -       Most importantly, DON’T BE AFRAID to ask questions.
  127.
  128.       -    Don’t cause issues, stay quite in your area instead of picking fights right from the get go. Use the time to build up.
  129.
  130.
  131.
  132. Fight Tips:
  133.
  134. -       Use LAYERS! This is often called a rainbow wave, you use layers of other troops to support your archers so you get way less losses, here is an example:
  135.
  136. battlewn4.evony.com/default.html?logfile/20100710/df/67/df679c1bec3b9e453f74ae75eecb96ac.xml
  137.
  138. -       Learn how to scout bomb, a scout bomb is where you send 100K or 125K scouts to attack a city, if the gates are open this is a devastating, fast, cheap attack to make.
  139.
  140.
  141. EVERYTHING in this guide is my personal opinion and is just a brief insight into
  142. the ever expanding world of evony. From playing in such a strong dedicated
  143. alliances you'll all learn things im sure even I don't know. You're all,
  144. including me, very lucky to be in such an alliance. Good luck.
  145.
  146. - Much respect, James.
