What I love about Mount & Blade is that you are free to set your own goals, and you are empowered to acheive them.

One aspect that doesnt do this very well is improving reputation with other lords. If I decide that I want to become friends with a specific lord, sometimes I am "blocked" because they aren't offering any quests.  This is frustrating because there's absolutely nothing I can do about it, the only choice I have is to wait or choose a different goal to work towards, which doesn't feel good.

So I think there should always be SOMETHING you can do when it comes to improving relations with a lord. Maybe an option that's always available like "gift money" or "donate troops".
