  1. Steven strolled down the Beach City boardwalk. He smiled and breathed in the familiar, salty air that he’d been missing in space. Ronaldo was standing outside his family’s fry shop, ranting like a homeless man. Steven didn’t mind the strange fry man’s eccentricities, though. In fact, Steven stopped to make conversation with him.
  2.
  3. “Hey Ronaldo, what you up to?”
  4.
  5. “Oh, Steven! I know I can always count on you to indulge me! Here, have a pamphlet.”
  6.
  7. Steven took the pamphlet without even looking at it. When he sat down to read it, however, his blood boiled over in rage.
  8.
  9. “Rock people are invading our borders! They loathe the male sex and destroyed the Chrysler building! Our water supply has been compromised by their degenerate minerals!”
  10.
  11. Steven wadded the pamphlet up in his chubby fists. He shook, quite literally. He stormed over to the fat french fry person.
  12.
  13. “What is the meaning of this, you privileged scum!?”
  14.
  15. Ronaldo shook his head.
  16.
  17. “Steven, the rock people are a danger to mankind, and to the security of our great nation.”
  18.
  19. “You, you white male scum! You don’t know anything about rock people! And by the way, they prefer the term ‘Mineral Americans!’”
  20.
  21. “What do you care?”
  22.
  23. Steven’s blood pressure rose slightly, pushing into dangerous levels.
  24.
  25. “I’m half Mineral American!”
  26.
  27. Ronaldo gasped.
  28.
  29. “You’re a gemulatto?”
  30.
  31. Steven didn’t even dignify that racist with a response, instead stomping off back to the temple.
  32.
  33. ---
  34.
  35. It was later that evening. Steven stirred his bowl of hot pockets and cheese without eating it. Pearl looked over her shoulder, a growing look of concern in her eyes.
  36. “Steven, I’ve never seen you like this. Normally that food would’ve been gone ten minutes ago. Are you feeling well?”
  37.
  38. “Pearl, it was awful. Someone who I thought was my friend turned out to be a real shit lord.”
  39.
  40. “Oh, Steven, most men are shit lords.”
  41.
  42. Steven looked over at Pearl with tears budding in his eyes.
  43.
  44. “Am I a shit lord, Pearl?”
  45.
  46. “Well, you don’t act like a shit lord, but for most men a little sensitivity training never hurt.”
  47.
  48. Steven gave her a confused expression.
  49.
  50. “Sensitivity training? What’s that?”
  51.
  52. “Oh, just something we perform on human males to make them more in-tune with their emotions, and to give them a greater understanding of our struggles as a minority.”
  53.
  54. “Huh. Do you think I need sensitivity training?”
  55.
  56. Pearl didn’t even hesitate.
  57.
  58. “Yes.”
  59.
  60. “Wow! When can we start?”
  61.
  62. “Right now!”
  63.
  64. Before he could react, Steven was knocked out cold by the handle of a spear being rammed upside his head.
  65.
  66. ---
  67.
  68. Steven woke up inside of a dark, mildewy smelling basement. The stone that wasn’t overgrown with moss appeared damp and slick. Steven’s arms and legs were shackled to the wall at the elbows and knees with heavy iron bands. A door at the end of the hallway-like room creaked open, and Pearl stepped in. She was carrying a large, pale blue bowl with strange markings on it.
  69.
  70. “Pearl, what, what’s happening?”
  71.
  72. “Shut it, potential rapist.”
  73.
  74. “Pearl, why would you say something like that to me?”
  75.
  76. “Just like a straight white male to question the every action of a female minority. You make me sick, shit lord.”
  77.
  78. “Pearl, what did I do?”
  79.
  80. Pearl snarled.
  81.
  82. “You were born.”
  83.
  84. Pearl summoned a large, glowing spoon from her gemstone and gave the contents of the bowl she was carrying a quick stir.
  85.
  86. “Pearl, what is that?”
  87.
  88. “If you must know, cis scum, it’s my monthly gem runoff.”
  89.
  90. “What, what are yo-”
  91.
  92. Steven was interrupted by the spoon being shoved into his mouth. He gagged and choked as the bitter, salty syrup filled his mouth. The taste flooded his head, and his body told him to vomit, but the spoon made that impossible. Stomach acid and food contents rushed up from his esophagus and mixed with the gem’s secretions to create a hellish sludge. Pearl clasped her hands around Steven’s mouth and coaxed the mixture down his throat.
  93.
  94. Steven gagged and wheezed when Pearl finally took the spoon out.
  95.
  96. “Did you like that, cis scum? Know you know a fraction of the pain I deal with on a monthly basis.”
  97.
  98. Tears dribbled down Steven’s fat little cheeks. Pearl slapped him.
  99.
  100. “Crying isn’t go to help you now.”
  101.
  102. Pearl gave her special fluids a stir and fed Steven another dollop of the devil’s smegma. He managed to keep it down better this time, and Pearl seemed sadistically satisfied.
  103.
  104. “Alright, shit lord. Listen up, your sensitivity training is far from over. It’s difficult translating the emotional pain we gems feel everyday, but that doesn’t stop us from trying.”
  105.
  106. An orange glow appeared behind Pearl. The pale gem’s lips curved into a twisted Smirk as she strolled out of the room.
  107.
  108. “Why don’t I give you some alone time with Jasper? Remember Jasper? She hated you, and she stills hates you even though she’s corrupted. Oh, but I’m sure you can work out your differences.”
  109.
  110. Jasper’s gnarled form walked past Pearl, it’s attention focused on what it believed to be Rose Quartz.
  111.
  112. “Play nice you two.”
  113.
  114. Steven screamed.
  115.
  116. ---
  117.
  118. Hundreds of miles above the underground chamber that Steven had found himself in, Lapis and Peridot fucked each other raw.
