It's about 10 AM when Mistral warps down from her high perch above the top of the ship (Aori admittedly has never decided whether it has something like a crow's nest or not, I actually usually think of her as sitting on top of the captain's quarters) with a "Land! I mean, not land! Uh, structures! Buildings! And...water. Yeah!"
  2. [18:51:08] <~Aori_Radidjiu> It's raining lightly, drizzling on the deck, making a few puddles that Lani's watching pile up with a scowl.
  3. [18:52:02] <~Aori_Radidjiu> From far away, Ark City looks like some kind of abstract shape, lines and squares and occasional buildings littered all over the place, over water. It's definitely...different.
  4. [18:53:48] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Any of you with any real nautical knowledge would estimate that the city's about half an hour away.

  6. [18:55:40] * Mako gets up on deck and holds onto the railing, watching Ark draw closer. He's got a little smile on and doesn't even seem to notice that he's getting soaked with rain.
  7. [18:57:06] <Melons> Mel skips on deck grinning at the rain and sporting a previously unseen scarf, though wearing it loosely enough to hopefully avoid heat stroke. "Suck it, sun!"
  8. [18:58:08] * Med is... wait, she's already dressed? What's she even doing then? Oh, right. In her room, texting up a storm with her best friend!

  14. [19:00:14] * Mackenzie is up on deck, and probably has been for a bit, doing exercises. Not sit-ups though, not with the rain coming down on his face. He's not wearing a shirt, and his hair is soaked and combed back out of his face.

  23. [19:10:25] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Anyway, after a bit of this idling about, the boat reaches the wharf at Ark! Lani sets up the little stair thing for getting on and off the boat and...actually the wharf is a bit empty, due to the weather. The wharf itself (and it seems most of the city) is a tangle of log or steel bridges, crisscrossing all over the place, with ramps and stairs and higher piers all over the place,

There's a few sailors loading in and out cargo, some children playing out int he rain because OOOOH OUR PARENTS TOLD US NOT TO WE TOTALLY SHOULD and some occasional people swimming in the water below the tangled web of paths through the town.

  30. [19:16:31] * Lysandr comes up to the deck with an umbrella and a bag, Stickers on his shoulder, hiding from the rain.

  32. [19:17:20] * Lysandr is talking to no one in particular BUT HOPEFULLY SOMEONE WILL HEAR?
  33. [19:17:30] <Melons> Mel stares at Lys. "Yeeeeaaaah, wha- OH, you have family here too, right?"
  34. [19:17:43] <Mackenzie> "I think I should go make sure Med is awake." He gets up, puts a towel over his shoulder (he left the towel outside, so it's completely soaked too. Not a good idea, in retrospect,) and heads down to Med's room. Knockity knock.

  36. [19:18:05] <Mako> "Is that where you're off to?"
  37. [19:19:31] <Lysandr> "I'll be at my sister's, the address is [BLUH!] if you need to find me for some reason and telecommunicatins are down," he says to Mel.

  39. [19:20:24] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Lysandr, by the by, your sister went and replied to your email, said that she'll be busy in the afternoon but she'd be around in the morning. Nothing too big.
  40. [19:20:25] <Med> "Yeah?!" Med calls out through the door. she's on her bed, and doesn't have telekinesis in this universe!
  41. [19:21:21] * Mako scowls a little, but turns back to look at the city.
  42. [19:22:41] * Melons stares between the two and shrugs it away. "Guess I chose right..."

[19:24:57] <~Aori_Radidjiu> As Lysandr leaves the ship, a woman in her mid-twenties, brown hair, brown eyes, light skin suggesting she's not native, in a t-shirt and jean shorts shows up, dragging a Pikachu on what appears to be a leash, but is actually upon closer inspection a rope of candy (kind of like a Nerds Rope) coming from its mouth.   61. [19:34:11] <~Aori_Radidjiu> She pulls some hair out of her face, looking around, and Mel's the nearest person besides Mako, so she ends up walking up to Mel, scanning her up and down, quirking an eyebrow. "Hmmmmm..." Squint. "Hmmmmm...."

  179. [20:59:25] <~Aori_Radidjiu> There's masks in shapes of various pokemon faces and animal faces, some charms for fertility, luck, wisdom, other superstitious things.

  188. [21:11:21] <Mackenzie> "It looks... great!" Mack starts sweating the fact that they haven't been paid for their last pirate raid yet. "I mean, of course it's a little odd, because people don't really wear those types of things any more. They're probably more souvenir or ornamental value nowadays..."
