  1. The eggplant is extremely fragile, and it can be destroyed by almost anything. Furthermore, you must carry it through each exit instead of a weapon, so if you anger the shopkeepers, it can be very difficult to proceed.
  2.
  3. The eggplant can be brought to Yama in one of two ways:
  4.
  5. 1) If you're extremely lucky and encounter a shop on temple level 2, and that shop contains a mystery box, AND there's an altar on the level, you can acquire the eggplant and bring it to Yama with no extraneous difficulties. However, shops on the temple are rare as it is, so encountering these exact circumstances is exceptionally rare.
  6.
  7. 2) The more common method is to acquire the eggplant early, typically in the mines, and deliberately destroy the altar that you used to get it. Next, you try to wait as late as possible, ideally late jungle/early ice caves, and then you destroy a second altar. This will give you the ball and chain, which means that carrying both the ball and chain and the eggplant becomes very challenging. When you encounter the Moai statue in the ice caves, you can use a glitch involving the ball and chain to destroy the edges, which are otherwise invulnerable. You place the ball and chain on top and hang off the side, and the weight forces the ball and chain through the blocks. This maneuver allows you to take an item with you through the Moai statue instead of losing it when you sacrifice yourself, which means that you can take the eggplant along. At this point, if you have climbing gloves, you can rid yourself of the ball and chain by dangling it into the bottom of the abyss. Of course, you can alternatively find an altar/mystery box shop combo after the moai but before the city of gold, but again, shops become rarer the deeper you go, so these are unlikely circumstances. After this, you must either acquire a hired helper (or at any point before now, but it can be difficult to keep them and the eggplant alive for very long), or you must be sure to use a save that does not have the robot unlocked, so you can acquire him on the mothership. This is the preferred way, but some might not consider it quite as "impressive", though that remains to be seen. It's just a way of giving you a chance to actually complete the run, rather than relying on incredible amounts of luck. The execution is still extremely difficult. Once the robot or helper is acquired, you must keep them alive long enough to take the scepter through the exit on 4-1, because you must still carry the eggplant and can only hold one item. Of course, you must still take care of the eggplant during this time, so it can be challenging to keep both out of harm's way. Once you're through, you should kill the helper as quickly as possible, as they are quite dangerous with the scepter, and are no longer needed. From here, you can carefully escort the extremely fragile eggplant to Yama as in method 1.
  8.
  9. Once at Yama, you must be extremely careful not to drop the eggplant. If you can get in position, you must carefully throw the eggplant at Yama's head. This turns his head into a large eggplant monster, which is completely immobile and has only 1hp. You can then kill him and complete the run. I am currently the only person known to have completed an eggplant run.
