  1. The psychic tribe of Sarushoni Lamia.
  2. The mystics live in the eastern mountains, well in the lush jungles of Phviteni. They reside on the border. Their family is governed in a sort of meritocracy. The proven intelligent lead, followed by the powerful psychics, and then by the punished worker class. They are not quite as meaty as the creatives or warriors, but are much faster. Their housing is generally vertical; the homes built around the trunks of trees. While the area is out of the way, there's no mistaking it when you do encounter the place. Their homes are enormous, encompassed in a large wall of logs, each and every trunk is painted in vibrant reds and blues. These paintings are meant to tell stories, and are frequently painted over as more impressive feats are performed daily. they live in a rockfall region.

  7. Casual dress in the psychic tribe is made up of simple smocks and ponchos. They are trimmed with gentle purples and greens. There are large sections of undyed cloth on these garments, which the wearer is culturally obligated to fill up with their own stories in time. Stories of their own achievement. A child here is expected to have at least one panel covered in stories of their own escapades by the age of twelve, four years out of maturity, or else they are forced into the working class. This practice forces the weak and unimpressive into the background, keeping only their best and brightest up front for the world to see.
  8.
  9. They stick to the usual Lamiian diet of primarily meat, with herbs. They prefer to cook them, unlike the rest, as they are one of the few tribes that actively accept guests. They are a culture of impressions, and will always put their best first towards a guest, no matter how minor. They are not as reverent of fire as many other tribes, and instead see it as a necessity rather than an all encompassing truth. Flame means heat, and heat means life.
  10.
  11. Despite overwhelming ability for hunting based on their mentality, they prefer to use traps to gather their food, as trap making is a decent mental trainer. The practice itself requires you to adapt the trap to your surroundings. An obvious trap gathers no food.
  12.
  13. Their preferred weapon is their own mind. A psychic could pick up dust and saw people to pieces with it. With the recent discovery of gunpowder, they've moved towards marksmanship due to the advent of shot and ball rifles. Knowing full well how inaccurate a rifle is, they use TK to move the bullet in air, to keep the round on target. They keep no fewer than forty shots with them, but only enough powder for ten shots. The remaining thirty are reserved for looted powder, as well as use in melee range as a distraction, or to be launched at the enemy with TK.
  14.
  15. They export manuscripts for trade. They grow paper inside their walls to write on, with the intention of the stories being sold to caravans, and then to publishers. They do not value punctuality in any way. If you are late for combat, that is a chance for someone else to shine. Being late for a meeting has few negative impacts as well.
  16.
  17. Working class individuals are limited to paper farming, logging, and timekeeping as professions. Construction is considered "Toru-Shu", or "smart work" in their culture, as is hunting. Loggers are expected some amount fairer treatment than the farmers, as they supply the basest good they could ever have. A timekeeper is one of, if not the most important job a laborer can be bestowed. They manage schedules for their upperclassmen, and help with their work. They are typically made up of workers who didn't quite make the cut upon their inspection. They are borderline servants who help around with general tasks including but not limited to cooking or fitting of clothing.
  18.
  19. The political climate in the region is somewhat turbulent. They are quick to make and break relationships with other peoples under the pretense that they wish not to make alliances. This is complete crap, as they openly support mixed race settlements, and have for several centuries as a unilateral agreement. There is only one of those settlements in their country, and it is often assumed that they are referring to that settlement. From the background, one may learn that they are actually in a poorly worded partnership, where neither side desires war, but the wording of their treaty states that the partnership cannot be broken off, no matter what actions are taken.
  20.
  21. an important line of this is that "An attack, any attack, against either group in this pact, is not a declaration of war". Either party could easily attack, and their alliances would not be able to help, as it is not war.
  22.
  23. Very few relationships in this tribe are built in trust, but are instead set in stone by emotion. Timekeepers are devoted, and while 'mingling' between classes is strictly prohibited, it is extremely common. The psychics value pedigree and breeding highly, and refuse to cross with other species. They desire to isolate traits for intelligence over the course of generations, and appear to have some idea of how genetics function at the practical level. Once these genes are isolated, they intend to mix them back down via careful breeding to produce the ultimate intelligence, a concept they are deeply devoted to. The belief in this being is so strong, in fact, that it will likely ascend to godhood upon its birth.
  24.
  25. Their souls were created by the Laia known as "The lightbringer", who signifies enlightenment, as well as the literal cycle of night and day. It is said that when the lightbringer wavers from its task, an extended night comes about; an event that has occurred several times in the past.
  26.
  27. If the leader dies of sickness, they generally appoint someone to their position, frequently an understudy of some sort. If killed in a duel, the winner is appointed the position. However, if in an accident, or "Accident", the tribe will frequently descend into chaos as they try to prove themselves. It is not uncommon for this chaos to turn into a bloodbath; Demons often emerge in this state of panic.
