  1. Your name: My name in real life is Jon Sanchez.
  2.
  3. Your age: I was born on November 26, 1998 and am currently 15 years of age.
  4. Your Minecraft username:
  5. Main: Lqzer
  6. Original: CaptainJS
  7.
  8. Do you have any MCBans? (If so, explain):
  9. As far as I am aware, I have never received an MCBan.
  10.
  11. Do you have any bans on our servers? (If so, explain. If you have had a successful ban dispute, please provide a link):
  12. In the past, I have been banned twice on the MCSG servers. However, in both scenarios I disputed the bans and was unbanned. Here are the links to both successful ban disputes:
  13. http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/banned-question.19293/
  14. http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/captainjss-ban-dispute.82571/
  15.
  16. Do you have any alt. accounts [Optional]?: My main account used to be CaptainJS. However, now it is Lqzer. I would consider CaptainJS as more of my alt.
  17.
  18. Past administration or moderation experiences:
  19. I currently moderate at footballidiot.com. This is a forum for Madden 08/General NFL topics. My username is Captain and I have been in the community for quite a while, and have moderated for over a year now.
  20. Also, since October, I have been a moderator of TheSlideMC. The owner of TheSlide didn’t just accept anyone; he accepted only the few with very good applications and background history. In fact, he was very good at demoting mods that weren’t doing their job well or correctly. When I applied, even though we were good friends he told me that there was no guarantee that I would be accepted. I spent a long time on my application, and was eventually accepted for an interview. I passed my interview and was accepted as full moderator! After 2 weeks, it came time for Sr. Mods to be selected. Because of my activity and devotion to the servers, I was promoted to Trial Sr. Mod, which I eventually passed. Moderating the SlideMC was no easy task. Back in October/November, it was very, very populated. There were more than 10 people on the server at all times, sometimes even 40! Unfortunately it shut down in December after our forums broke, which was an essential part of our community. We lost about 75% of our members. However, TheSlideMC was back up once more back in mid February.
  21. With the restarted SlideMC, I was a crucial part of the staff team. Very active, I would often spend hours moderating the KitPvP, coming up with new ideas, and managing the staff. Because of my hard work and dedication, I was promoted to Admin shortly after. As Admin, I was an even more important part of the server. I had access to the forums control panel and the server control panel: therefore, I could make fixes and changes as needed. For about a month, we thrived as a server and community, having well over 20 people on at a time for most of each day.
  22. At the beginning of April, I was promoted to Owner because of my extreme hard work and dedication to the server. As Owner, I had the same responsibilities as Admin plus more! I worked long hours improving the servers for everyone in the community. We went down for maintenance in early April.
  23. Unfortunately, the other owner and I did not agree with how the founder was running the server. We did not feel that he cared about the people playing and the welfare of everyone involved, so we resigned and started our own network, taking along with us much of our previous staff who were dedicated to us. Our network will be back up in a few weeks.
  24. Finally, back in April 2013, I applied for moderator of MCSG. In late May, I was accepted after I passed my interview! However, the next day, I saw Blamph in a game and he was using all caps. After the game, I went in the skype moderator chat and messaged, “I could have kicked Blamph for using all caps!” Unfortunately, this was taken the wrong way. People at first thought I actually did kick him and yelled at me, saying I should have warned him (which I already knew). Then it was brought to attention that there was a spammy thread on the forums that I had posted when I had just joined MCSG. For those reasons of being unaware of the rules and unproper conduct, I was demoted. I was only given one day to prove myself. However, I felt that this was unfair because I was accepted months after I had posted that thread and didn’t really do anything wrong in the skype chat, so I talked to Col. Star after a long time of trying to contact him. He told me that he knew I was a good person and was willing to give me a second chance to reapply when I met the new age requirements.
  25. Have you posted any Abuse Reports before [Optional]?:
  26. I have posted 13 Abuse Reports in the past, and am getting back into the habit of reporting anyone who breaks the rules. Instead of making Abuse Reports, sometimes I just find a moderator and poke them the evidence or message them it.
  27.
  28. How would you punish players for breaking the rules?:
  29. I’ll start with some of the not so serious crimes.
  30.
  31. Chat Related:
  32. Clean Spam- clean spam is considered as any message that is posted more than 3 times in a short time period, and is also not vulgar.
  33.
  34. For clean spamming, first I would take a screenshot of the player spamming. Next, I would tell them to stop. If they refused to stop, I would then either mute the player or if muting isn't an option, kick them from the server. If they rejoined and clean spammed again, I would 1-day ban them off the server and upload the evidence. I would also keep track of the player so if they clean spammed for a second offense, I would 3-day ban them. The third and fourth offenses would result in 7-day bans, and a fifth offense would be either a 7-day ban or a permaban, depending on the situation at hand.
  35.
  36. Dirty Spam- dirty spam is considered as any message that is posted more than 3 times in a short time period, and is also vulgar.
  37.
  38. For dirty spamming, first I would take a screenshot of the player spamming. Next, I would tell them to stop. If they refused to stop, I would then either mute the player or if muting isn't an option, kick them from the server. If they rejoined and dirty spammed again, I would 3-day ban them off the server because dirty spamming is a worse offense than clean spamming. I would also keep track of the player so if they dirty spammed for a second offense, I would 7-day ban them. The third offense would result in another 7-day ban, and a fourth offense would be either 7-day ban or a permaban, depending on the situation at hand.
  39.
  40. Inappropriate/Vulgar Language-inappropriate/vulgar language is considered any message that contains bad or sexual vocabulary.
  41.
  42. For inappropriate/vulgar language, first I would take a screenshot of the person committing the offense. Next, I would warn them and tell them to stop. If they refused, I would mute them or kick them, and take a screenshot as well. Refusal to stop upon rejoin would warrant a 1-day ban. The second offense would equal a 3-day ban, third offense a 7-day ban, fourth offense a 7-day ban, and fifth offense a 7-day or permaban depending on the situation.
  43.
  44. Excessive Caps- excessive caps is considered a message mostly made up of capital letters intended to take priority of the chat and priority over other player's messages.
  45.
  46. For excessive caps, first I would take a screenshot of the person committing the offense. Next, I would warn them and tell them to stop. If they refused, I would mute them or kick them, and take a screenshot as well. Refusal to stop upon rejoin would warrant a 1-day ban. The second offense would equal a 3-day ban, third offense a 7-day ban, fourth offense a 7-day ban, and fifth offense a 7-day or permaban depending on the situation.Racial/Group Slurs-racial/group slurs are any messages that consist of hate against a certain group or race. This is a major offense because it can be quite offensive and demoralizing to the victim.
  47.
  48. For racial/group slurs, first I would take a screenshot of the person committing the offense. Next, I would warn them and tell them to stop. If they refused, I would mute them or kick them, and take a screenshot as well. Refusal to stop upon rejoin would warrant a 7-day ban, as this is quite a serious offense. A second offense would result in another 7-day ban, and a third offense would end in a permaban.
  49.
  50. Disrespect- disrespect will not be tolerated on MCSwish. Some examples of disrespect are:
  51. eZZ
  52. Noob
  53. L2p
  54. rekt
  55. etc.
  56. In all cases of disrespect, I would immediately kick the player disrespecting. The initial kick would be considered the warning. Failure to stop the disrespect upon rejoin would lead directly to a 3-day ban. A second, third, and fourth offense would all result in 7-day bans, and a fifth offense would warrant a permanent ban.
  57.
  58. Advertising- advertising will also not be tolerated on MCGamer. Any message that consists of another server's name or ip without a request will be considered advertising.
  59.
  60. For excessive advertising, first I would take a screenshot of the person committing the offense.
  61.
  62. Server Hate- server hate is an attempt by a player or group to hurt the server in any way. This would consist of messages such as, "MCGamer sucks, don't play on it" or "MCGamer is horrible, leave for [server]". Server hate is a form of disrespect.
  63.
  64. In all cases of server hate, I would immediately kick the player disrespecting. The initial kick would be considered the warning. Failure to stop the server hate upon rejoin would lead directly to a 3-day ban. A second, third, and fourth offense would all result in 7-day bans, and a fifth offense would warrant a permanent ban.
  65.
  66. Asking to be Banned- simple as it sounds: a player asks to be banned.
  67.
  68. In this case, I would tell the player to stop asking to be banned or else I will have to ban them. IF they refuse to stop, I would immediately ban them for 1 day. A second offense equals a 3-day ban, a third offense equals a 7-day ban, and a fourth offense would result in either a permaban or another 7-day ban, depending on the situation.
  69.
  70. Misleading People- examples would be:
  71. I am a staff member! (Person saying this though they are NOT staff.)
  72. Do /leave to win 50 points.
  73. Do alt+f4 for free diamonds!!1!!!1!11!!!!
  74. If a player were to attempt to mislead other players in such fashion, I would first take a screenshot of the person committing the offense.
  75.
  76. Hacking:
  77.
  78. Forcefield- allows a player to be able to hit multiple players at once, dealing damage to all of them.
  79.
  80. Reach- extends the range of the sword, allowing players to hit other players from a greater distance away than the other player can hit them.
  81.
  82. Aimbot (Bow OR Sword)- aimbot is exactly what it sounds like: a hack that auto targets a player so that with every sword swing or bow shot, the attack is redirected towards the player and almost always hits them.
  83.
  84. Sprint- sprint hacks (aka speed hacks) enables faster speeds for players on the server; this allows them to run up to 10x faster than other players giving them a distinct advantage. However, NCP will often, for the most part, prevent this.
  85.
  86. Fly- another hack that is exactly how it sounds: enables flying for players. NCP will often, for the most part, also prevent this.
  87.
  88. Brightness- brightness hacks increases the brightness of a player's minecraft, allowing them to see clearly in dark areas of maps ingame. This gives them a distinct advantage PvPing in dark areas because they are able to see everything clearly.
  89.
  90. Regen- if a player's hunger bar is completely full, regen hacks will increase the rate of regen for the player. Signs of this are:
  91. -players getting lit on fire, but the fire is extinguished less than a second later
  92. -players not losing health as fast
  93. -players losing hunger faster as normal
  94.
  95. Jesus- Jesus hacks (aka waterwalk) allows players to walk on water as if it was solid ground: this is extremely obvious if you see a player walking over water.
  96.
  97. KillAura- KillAura is a hack that allows a player to hit another player whilst they are facing away from them; it auto-hits anyone in a certain area around the hacker without the hacker even having to swing their sword towards the other player.
  98.
  99. These are some examples of many different types of hacks easily accessible to the general public.
  100. If players would use Hacked or Modded clients this is how I would enforce the rules:
  101.
  102. For all of these, I would first record the hacker and get substantial evidence. Then, I would kick the hacker from the server before they could do any more harm.
  103.
  104. I would then ban the player for 7 days for hacking, first offense. A second offense would warrant either a permaban or another 7 day ban, depending in the circumstances.
  105.
  106. Then, I would upload the evidence to Youtube. If I was unsure if a player was hacking and/or I received notice from others that this player was hacking, I would record them and send it to Sr. Staff or a more experienced moderator. I do not want to ban someone unfairly. More experienced staff can decide whether or not a player is hacking.
  107.
  108. When the evidence was finished uploading, I would post in on the ban panel (if you have one).
  109. Of course, this is just what I would personally do for punishments. In reality, I would probably use the guide for punishment, if you have one.
  110.
  111. Abusing Glitches:
  112. Glitches pose a problem to the results of the games if they are abused. If a player was block glitching, I would kick them and notify them of the rules. If a player were to abuse the ‘diamond fist’ glitch, I would kick them from the game, notify them of the rules, and report them. If there are any other glitches that would be abused, I would notify Sr. Staff to deal with the problem if I didn’t know myself what to do.
  113.
  114. Forums:
  115. The forums are also an important part of MCSG. If a flame war started up, I would give a warning. If the user(s) continued to flame, I would lock the thread and notify higher staff of the problem. If they were to flame on another thread, I would report them to Sr. Staff and make sure they know this was a second offense. This also goes for spamming and swearing.
  116.
  117. Teamspeak:
  118. If a user were to break the rules on teamspeak and I received notice from another user, I would immediately join their Teamspeak channel and see for myself if the user was breaking the rules. I would then drag them up into a meeting room, warn them, and tell them to stop.
  119.
  120. If I received evidence of this user causing trouble once again, it would result in a mute. Further trouble would result in a ban.
  121.
  122. Why do you believe you are qualified to be a moderator?:
  123. In my opinion, many of the qualifications needed to be moderator also apply for qualifications to be successful in life. I believe that I possess many of these qualifications.
  124.
  125. To start off, I am a very mature person. I have received many compliments from others that I am mature, but I also have received complaints that I can perhaps be too mature. I follow a simple guideline in life that has helped me, and would make the world a better place if more people followed this as well: “Goof off in situations where you can, but be serious in situations that need to be serious.”
  126.
  127. Also, I am considered to have good leadership skills by many people. I have led two very successful clans in the past, and am an essential part in another clan. People respect me and will in most cases listen to me and follow me.
  128.
  129. If I make a mistake, I will admit to it and apologize as soon as I can. Everybody makes mistakes; it’s only human. However, I also stand up for things that I feel are right, which can be another valuable asset. I do recognize that there are situations where even if you think that something is right, it is wise not to speak out about it because it could potentially make things worse than they already are. Keeping my mouth shut when needed is also a quality I possess.
  130.
  131. As a moderator, listening skills and cooperation are also very much required. Although I am not currently part of any sports teams, I am part of 3 academic teams/clubs at my school that require great teamwork. I only wish to do the best I can while working with others, thus being cooperative and a good listener at all times.
  132.
  133. Finally, one of the most important skills needed in life is strong cooperation and devotion to whatever you are part of. If I am asked to do something, I won’t half complete it or completely ignore it. I will finish it to completion, and do my absolute best and work my absolute hardest, even if it is only a simple task.
  134.
  135. If I am accepted as a moderator, I will let these qualities shine from me and be my true self.
  136.
  137. In what ways would your presence benefit our staff team?:
  138. I believe I would be extremely beneficial to the staff team because I do many things that separate me from all of the others.
  139.
  140. First, I am extremely active in-game, and play on a variety of servers. Unlike the moderators that travel in packs and often play on only just the low servers, I play solo a lot and play on some of the higher servers. I also play on CA quite a bit.
  141. I am also very active on the forums. I have been on the forums since November 2012 and have 2,400 posts.I am also very active on the forums. I help out as much as I can and try not to post unnecessary comments. I have written many long, thoughtful, and detailed threads on important topics in the community I felt needed to be discussed. If someone asks a question, I am always there to help! On top of that, I feel as though the forums are a very important part of ANY online community. I will try my hardest to get more people to join the forums and participate in helpful discussions.
  142. I would be on the lookout for Reported Abuses, and get to them right away!
  143. Whenever I go on MCSG teamspeak, I don’t see very many moderators on at all. There are quite a few on (perhaps 15 at one time) but out of all the moderators of MCSG (more than 100), that isn’t very many. I also hear from many people that whenever they try to poke a moderator about a problem, they either don’t get a response or the moderator doesn’t help them right away causing a hacker to not be caught and banned. I already am on the MCSG teamspeak a lot, and if accepted, would help people with their problems immediately, even if it causes me to lose a game. I will sit on the Teamspeak all day. If my sound and mic are muted, I am probably in another Teamspeak, but I am still able to help. However, if I am set to away, I am not able to help. Of course, if I am actually talking I am always able to help.
  144.
  145. Speaking of helping, I have over 400 skype contacts. If anyone would ever need help, they could always talk to me! I give my skype to anyone who asks.
  146.
  147. Finally, I possess an extreme loyalty to the community and to pretty much any job I undertake. In the past few days, I have witnessed more than 15 moderators resign from their jobs. If I were to get accepted as moderator, I would only ever resign if it was absolutely necessary. I only desire to be moderator in order to help out and better the MCSG community. I do not care about any of the perks, even though they would be a bonus. If I ever resigned, I wouldn’t care wether or not I was given friend rank. Although it would be nice, I would still continue buying donor and supporting the community in that way.
  148.
  149. Do you have the ability to record video?:
  150. I have FRAPS, and I am able to record at rates up to a staggering 100+ FPS!
  151.
  152. Do you own a microphone?:
  153. Yes- I currently own a Turtle Beach x12 headset that works extremely well, and I am able to talk.
  154.
  155. How much time a week are you willing to donate to help moderate our forums and servers?:
  156. There is no set time a week I am willing to donate time: I will be there all the time and whenever I am needed. If an actual time is truly needed, I am normally on 2-4 hours straight, which is from 14-28 hours a week. Even if I am doing something else, I will respond if I am needed if it will be quick.
  157.
  158. What languages (other than English) do you know, and to what level [Optional]?:
  159. The only other languages that I know other than English are German and Spanish. I hardly understand any German, so that doesn’t really count. However, I have been taking Spanish for three or four years and can understand pretty much anything somebody would have to say, as well as give a response back in Spanish to any questions they might have for me.
  160.
  161. Where are you located? (Time zone):
  162. I am located in the EST (New York/Philadelphia) timezone.
  163.
  164. Even if I don’t get accepted, I won’t give up. I’ll just make my application better and reapply again! And even if I get denied and told I can’t reapply again due to various reasonings, I won’t cry about it. I’ll go back to serving the community and helping out as much as I can as I am now: As a regular member.
  165.
  166. Thank you for your time and consideration.
  167.
  168. -Captain
