>You are part of an elite group of a secretive society somewhere in outer space
>Since you have become a ring-bearer, you have found yourself on fantastical adventures throughout the galaxy and have met so many different sentient life forms that it boggles your mind sometimes
>In general, it's a pretty cool job and you are happy that you get to help aliens find harmony in their life

>Apparently, she dated somep0ny eons ago who was also part of the Green Lanterns and Equestria has been part of the program ever since!
>You stare into your cafe as you sit on a bench in a place known as Earth
>It is inhabited by strange beings called, "Humans" and they have tons of problems for you to use your powers on
>Honestly, they are far from the weirdest aliens you have seen, but they make a good cup of coffee all the same!
>The barista smiles with you as he hands you a small pastry
>"Wow, a Green Lantern eating at my restaurant. How's everything?"
"So good that I flew halfway across the galaxy this morning!"
>He sort of bows and looks a bit curious
>"Oh, that's great news! I hope the last time you were here, the people were just as friendly?"
"Oh yes, everyp0ny here is so nice."
>He salutes you oddly and speaks smartly
>"Thank you for all your service, missus..."
"Nightlight."
>"Nightlight? Green Lantern Nightlight?"
>The human smirks and his cheeks puff a little as he tries to contain his giggling
>Quite a few aliens laugh at your name, but you've never gotten the joke
"Thank you, sir, you are extremely kind. How much do I owe you?"
>"Oh, no, it's complimentary today."
>You smile at the kindness of humans
"Well, I'll just finish this sentence uninterrupted and..."
>Suddenly, you hear the sound of an explosion ring out not too far away
"Gasp! Human vehicles exploding! That could only mean one thing!"
>You just know some human left their vehicle on while pumping gasoline
>The signs specifically says not to do that!
>Racing around the corner, you fly quickly to see if any human was hurt
>What you see, instead, is a strange sort of human wearing a yellow suit and some kind of mask covering his face
>He has a ring, like your own, but it glows with a wavy, yellow light
>Blasting another human vehicle, he turns to you and raises his arms
>"Nightlamp of the Green Lanterns Corps! I am Anonymous the Dreaded and I am here to end you!"
"My name's, 'Nightlight'! And what's wrong with your ring?"
>"Nothing, my dear! I am the creeping dread and the vicious fear! I am a Yellow Lantern!"
"Ouah! I cannot believe the things which I am hearing from you!"
>You are uncertain, but every time you find yourself in a super powered face off, your dialogue sounds odd
>No matter, talking is still a free action!
"Whatever you are, I will stop your wicked ways! Property damage is not nice!"
>You imagine a big set of hoof cuffs and let the will of your mind flow through your ring
>A large, green pair of cuffs appear and you cast them at this villain
>"Ha ha! Two can play at that game!"
>Anonymous conjures up a giant pair of hands and your attack binds up his defense
"Impossible! That always works on humans!"
>"I am no ordinary man! I am the blackest fears you know!"
>He recoils his energy and produces a large, spider with only six legs
>"Haha! Cower before my mighty spider! Can you fill the chills running up your spine yet?"
"As if!"
>You are not sure if that counts as a sentence, but it is a good statement!
>With a twist of your imagination, you conjure a huge, working boot and the yellow spider skitters away
"You're gimp spider is no match for my mighty fashion!"
>Anonymous seems to be displeased with your resilience thus far and you smirk
>"Well, if spiders won't give you the jitters, lets go with another awful critter!"
"Oh, Celestia, are you rhyming now?"
>"What? Oh, I suppose I did. No matter!"
>With a flick of his hand, a large, golden rat with slavering jaws appears before you
>It charges you, but you dodge expertly to one side
>A crash sounds out as the conjured beast breaks itself on your favorite coffee shop
"You dirty rat, you killed my brewer!"
>The wall crumbles onto the beast as a bunch of humans run out in mild panic
>With how often this place is attacked by giant monsters or super villains, they are all rather used to this sort of thing
"You'll pay for that!"
>"I don't even pay my student loans; what makes you think I'd even attempt to fix that?"
"Because I will bring you to justice!"
>"Pffft, as if! Justice is just a myth! Fear is real and everyone has something they're afraid of! I will find you out, Darklight!"
"My name is, 'Nightlight'! You'll have plenty of time to practice saying it in jail!"
>Anon and you battle it out, causing a bit more damage to the surrounding area in the process
>After about an hour of constantly discharging your powers, you both end up tired and nearly drained
>"Damn you and your strong willed nature! Um, hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia!"
"I don't get it..."
>"It's a thing, like, some people are afraid of big words and it means to be afraid of big words because some psychologists are pretty horrible people."
"Just... Just give up... I can see you're too weak..."
>You heave a bit as sweat gathers at your brow
"... Too weak to go on."
>"Yeah, right! Anyone could see... That you're getting tired! I bet... I bet... wooh, boy... Ahem. I bet you're ready to give in to the terror!"
"I'm not afraid of anything! I know how to giggle at the ghostly!"
>Anonymous dashes to you with his own human legs as his power ring is notably weakened
>You think you have the energy for one final attack and charge in
>Without watching the cracked street, you trip over a raised edge and stumble at high speeds
>You bowl Anon over as you both tumble to the ground with you ending up on top
>"Head-butting? What a cheap shot..."
>He tries to lift his head only to touch his nose to your own and you blush
>This is a little too close, you think, and you step on him to pin him back down
>Anon lets out a pained groan as you hop from him and try to cover your blush
"Um, sorry, I didn't mean to do that..."
>You twirl your mane once in your hoof and giggle nervously
>The Yellow Lantern looks to you quickly with some renewed vigor and laughs
>"I have discovered it! I know what you are scared of!"
"What are you on about now?"
>He quickly sits up and smirks to you before pointing his power ring at you
>With your guard down, you cringe as you expect to get hit with a big, silly-looking fist shaped ball of energy
>He cackles once, but you don't feel like you are being pounded into the ground
>As you open your eyes, you see a yellow bundle of pretty looking roses and your face twists in fright
>"For you, my dear Nightlight."
"My name's...!"
>You shut your mouth quickly as you realize he was correct
>Anonymous rolls over from his resting place and closes in on you
"S-stay back! I got a power ring and I'm not afraid to use it!"
>His hands take your hooves and he presses his nose against your own again
>"You don't want to use that on me though. Wouldn't you rather come out to dinner with me tonight?"
>His mask sinks away with his power fading and you see a pretty human face beneath
>You stammer and blush quickly as your tongue ties into knots that would make a sailor proud
"I-I-I..."
>"And when we finish that, we can go see a movie. I'll even buy your popcorn."
>By the light of the moon, you love popcorn!
>This fiend holds you in his hands and pulls you into his strong chest
>With a devastating hug, your mind goes blank and your limbs go limp
"Wbaabadab..."
>"Yes, give into your fear. Now, all I need to do to keep your subdued is date you for the rest of my life. This is foolproof in its simplicity!"
>Your face feels so hot right now and you cannot escape in your frail state
>He lifts you up in his arms and begins to carry you away
>You attempt to struggle one last time only to fall victim to Anonymous' cruel powers once more
>"Hey, Nightlight... You're pretty cute."
>Anon continues his verbal barrage of compliments as you turn three shades of red
>You quiver in your embarrassment as he holds you tightly
>Truly, he is a terrible, horrible, dreadful master of fear
>It was an uphill kind of day
