Geographers used climate graphs and population pyradmins to study things like climates and changes and climates over time or a population pyramid to understand demographics how the people in a society are going to change that society people who study that = demographers
Grid patterns help identify exact points on a map, they help to understand where citys are or help organize a city.
Lines of latitude and lines of longitude help us break up the world and identify spots correctly
*Lines of latitude run east-west around the globe they are measured in degrees north-south of the equator
*Lines of longitude run north-south around the globe, the most famous being the prim merdian

*The united states is north of the equator and west of the prime meridian In europe you would be east of the prime meridian and north of the equator, in australia you would be east of the prime merdian but south of the equator.
Where the prime meridian of greenwich and the equator meet, you are 0 degrees north south east and west, dead 0 on the map.
*Meridians help us measure the number of degrees east and west we are of the prime meridian they run north -south around the globe and are measured east-west around the meridian

No type of map is completely correct because maps are flat and two-dimentional while the world is three-deminsional; therefore, a map cannot accurately represent distance, shape, and location at the same time.
A legend on a map is essential because without the legend or key to a map, much of the information is missing. Legends identify the symbols that appear on the map as well as providing the distance scale. Legends decode the color elements of a map.

Geographers use imaginary lines in the pattern of a grid to divide the earth. Longitude lines run from the north pole to the south pole and are stated in terms of degrees east or west of the prime meridian, the 0 degree line of longitude that runs through Greenwich, England. The Equator is the 0 degree line of latitude that is halfway between the poles. The grid is formed by the intersecting latitude and longitude lines and can be used to name the exact location of any place on the earth.

Maps are useful tools because they allow geographers to explain a great deal of information in a simple form that is easy to understand. They also allow a visual comparison between different places or regions. Maps can show many thins for example, Elevation, population, political borders, natural resources, temperatures, precipitation, major cities, important waterways, seismic activity, economic activity, or agriculture
