  1. I am proud to be Canadian
  2. Introduction
  3. “Our hopes are high. Our faith in the people is great. Our courage is strong. And our dreams for this beautiful country will never die.” This quote by Pierre Trudeau lives in the hearts of many Canadian citizens. This quote is an inspiration spoken by the former prime minister of Canada. There are several reasons why I love Canada and why I couldn’t be more proud to live here. However, the atmosphere of accepting anyone, free health care, and the ancestry to why I live here today, is what makes me most proud to live in Canada.

  6. One big reason I’m proud to be Canadian is the fact that we accept anyone here. Regardless of your gender, culture, traditions, or heritage, We will gladly accept anyone, free of judgment, into our country. We see the potential in anyone. Canada itself won’t only accept you, but the citizens will respect you for being whoever you are. Countless immigrants come to Canada because of this reason. Being a Canadian shouldn’t be taken for granted. Just being able to say “I'm a Canadian citizen” truthfully, should be a gratification.

  9. Not only am I proud of Canada, but my grandparents for moving here. They came here in 1967 because my grandpa was told it was a great, clean place with lots of job opportunities. They were convinced and decided to move here. They ended up loving Canada and my grandma still lives here today. After living there for many years, in 1980, they invited my great grandpa, who’s 95 today, to come live here. He lived here for a while but had to move away since he was too old to live here alone. Yet, he still visits here for a few months every year. My family has had amazing lives here in Canada thanks to them moving here. I’m so happy they moved here and that decision has changed my life completely. While my grandpa is dead now, his legacy of moving here will never be forgotten.

  12. Another huge benefit that Canada has, is free health care. This is something that’s saved many citizens lives by giving priority to those in need. Two examples of this are my great grandma and aunt. My great grandma died at the age of 86, but it most likely would’ve been much younger if it weren’t for free health care. She had been sick for around 5 years before that but thanks to our healthcare system, she was able to live much longer than she would’ve. She died 7 years ago, but I’m glad I was able to meet her and that’s because of free healthcare. This has also severely helped my aunt. In 2011, my family had gotten horrible news that my aunt had cancer. They had given her everything they could’ve to help. This includes surgery, radiation, chemo therapy, and medication. She had been doing everything she can to fight the cancer. And because of this, we heard the news a few months later that she was cured. Thanks to Canada's amazing healthcare, my aunt now lives a peaceful and cancer-free life.

  14. Millions of people come to Canada every year, and this is because of all the incredible features it has to offer.
