Rin Birthday 1

Anoncchi Sep 25th, 2015 (edited) 170 Never
  1. During Rin's last year at Hanzo Academy she decided to celebrate her birthday with Kiriya. She planned to do so by slipping a note onto his desk. On that note she would ask him to come out to the edge of the campus where there was plenty of secluded forested areas for them to be alone and have a picnic under the stars. Rin hoped that after years of doting upon Kiriya, that he would finally notice her as a woman.
  2.
  3. She had picked a clearing with a view of the nights sky where only the stars and a lantern to light them. A thick blanket was laid out and Rin had gotten her hands on a cheap boxed wine, which she was able to get due to the store clerk being too distracted by her looks to card her; and some classy plastic cups to serve it in. Rin had put on her best dress or at least the one that showed the most cleavage and caked on make-up.
  4.
  5. There was a shuffle of dirt and dust behind her and Rin hoped that Kiriya had found her. Instead she was confronted by her rival, Daidouji. 'Just what do you think you're doing?' Daidouji scoffed. She held her fist out, with Rin's note crumpled up inside it 'Inviting our teacher out here so you can get all lovey-dovey? What's the matter with you?'
  6.
  7. 'Dai!?' Rin squeaked. She sat up straight as if she was being lectured by her parents. Daidouji had always seemed so blunt and forceful that she could never pick up on schemes like this. Rin had underestimated her. 'What are you doing here?'
  8.
  9. 'Nothing gets by me!' Daidouji bellowed with a wild grin 'I am a shinobi of Hanzo academy!' Her mood suddenly changed when she spotted the wine. She bared her teeth and stomped her way over to snatch it. Rin beat her to the cask but Daidouji forced it from Rin's grip with her sheer strength. 'Are you crazy? Are you trying to get thrown out? Well I'm not letting you throw away your one shot at being a shinobi. Not yet.'
  10.
  11. Rin watched as Daidouji emptied wine onto the dirt. In her mind each trickle was a chance with Kiriya being taken away. 'Can't I just be a regular teenage girl sometimes?' Rin begged 'I just want to spend my birthday with the man I love and make a wonderful mistake. Even if it's just one night I want to make a memory I'd never forget.'
  12.
  13. Daidouji ticked and turned her back towards Rin 'You fool!' She ripped open the box and threw it into the trees sending a trail of booze along the ground. 'Have you just given up on your dream?' Daidouji's broad shoulders tensed 'You wanted to be a shinobi didn't you? You wanted to walk down this path and see yourself the best or face the bitter end didn't you? Are you just going to throw it all away?'
  14.
  15. 'Of course not!' Rin jumped to her feet. 'It's just like I told you; I'm going to walk the path of the shinobi and I'm going to go beyond what anyone ever thought was possible! I'm going to become a more than a shinobi! A Super Ninja!'
  16.
  17. 'Oh?' Daidouji smirked to herself 'What does a Super Ninja do?'
  18.
  19. 'They-' Rin stumbled 'I'll Spread love and peace! Love and peace all over the world!'
  20.
  21. 'Then don't tell me.' Daidouji turned and pointed towards the skyline where buildings towered above all else. 'Tell it to them. Tell it to the whole world. Make it a promise!'
  22.
  23. Rin anxiously pivoted and faced the skyline. She knew Daidouji wouldn't allow her to fail, she would have to make the promise. 'I'm going to be a super ninja!' Rin yelled, her voice echoed in the distance 'I'm going to bring love and peace!' Rin looked over to Daidouji for approval but only saw her fiery gaze. 'LOVE AND PEACE! LOVE AND PEACE TO THE WORLD!' Rin nervously chuckled at how ridiculous she must look and went once more 'LOVE AND PEACE TO THE WORLD!'
  24.
  25. A hefty palm smacked against Rin's back 'That's more like it.' Daidouji smiled at Rin 'You're not allowed to fail. You've got to be the strongest and I've got to be the one to beat you.'
  26.
  27. Even after all the arguments and fights during their time at Hanzo Academy, they were rivals and friends. Daidouji made it her mission to make sure Rin never wavered from her dreams. Rin would not be allowed to give up, Daidouji wanted to be there to push her forward and together they would grow strong. There was no better gift than their friendship and their journey together. To be friends and to be shinobi, there was nothing greater.
