end of 1.0: louisoix thought of summoning the 12 but realized he probably shouldn't cos they'd absorb literally all of the aether in eorzea and destroy things anyway. so he only uses half of their power to attempt to re-seal bahamut when he breaks free. well that failed miserably cos bahamut is fucking pissed, so louisoix opts to use althyik's(sp?) (god of time) power to send the warriors of light 5 years into the future. hence why no one can really remember the faces of the warriors, cos time shenanigans. louisoix faces his end to bahamut. it's the future cos 1) minfilla has aged, and 2) everyone refers to the calamity (dalamud falling) as the past. it's literally everywhere - frontlines is taking place on the old carteneau battlefield in mor dho somewhere.

the binding coil of bahamut is the fancy name for the fragments of dalamud strewn about eorzea when it fell. hence they all start in different locations; they didn't fall evenly. we entered coil 1 underneath the garlean base by wineport and traveled through the outer fragment (bahamut's wing) deeper into the fragment (through allag defense systems, into part of dalamud which was actually a allag starship called the Ragnarok!!!) until finally we get to the severed right hand of bahamut. we pop back up in northern thanalan cos that's a safe exit through one of the shards.
coil 2 we enter in the next obvious shard in eorzea: the giant outer shell sitting in north shroud. we're climbing the outer shell to enter it in t6, then once inside we find science experiments in t7, then a superpowered defense system / possibly automated caretaker in t8. we finally reach the core of this particular fragment in t9, which turns out to be an internment hulk that bahamut shoved nael's essence in when nael turned out to be a failure of a follower. we kick nael's ass, release him of the tempering, and he says that bahamut tossed him by the wayside but his essence was still stuck within dalamud. he disappears and louisoix appears in a similar vein, leading us to believe louisoix's essence is trapped in dalamud just like nael's was. hence why I and many others believe we'll fight louisoix next to "release" him.

when we reach bahamut being restored on the absolute center of dalamud, we're shutting off the repairing lasers per coil fragment. (1 laser for coil 1, and 2 for coil 2, but there are like 3 lasers left so idk maybe we'll do 3 next) if you'll note next time we go there, look to your upper left. you'll see a different platform with no lasers coming from it - that's where we were at the end of t5.
