  1. Dodge Offset Tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOVVmm4KOm4
  2. Probably the single most important technique in Bayonetta, and one many players never learn. Dodge offset allows players to continue a combo string while dodging, and even buffer their inputs to move through strings quicker and set up wicked waves or other attacks. You can even offset through Umbran Spear and Beast Within. You can even taunt offset!

  5. In a collaborative effort Saur (who wrote the outstanding Bayonetta 1 guide) and several other expert players are producing a series of videos to explain the combat mechanics of Bayonetta. It's currently a work in progress.

  8. These videos are a good place to start. n472a is an expert player of both DMC and Bayo, and has many, many videos on both of them.
  9.
  10. Here are some assorted techniques and oddities within the combat system of Bayonetta 1. Many of these may still apply to Bayo 2, but changes have been made to that system.
  11.
  12. Buffering another combo with PPPP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-74KmtpPO_4
  13. You can cancel PPPPK back into P. To get the timing down, put the Onyx Roses on your feet. Then listen to the shotgun blasts as you perform the rapid K, it goes BANG BANG BANG BANG (4 bangs). The 4th BANG happens at the exact moment the Wicked Weave activates, this cannot be canceled into anything except Jump or Evade. But if you time it right, hit P exactly before the 4th BANG and you still launch the Wicked Weave but have started a new combo before the Weave even finishes.

  15. Quick PKP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qRpYaVOnIY
  16. Jump cancelling as soon as the weave appears at the end of the combo will allow the weave to come out, and let you begin another combo instantly.
  17.
  18. Instant air 360+K: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8HoO9dJEIA
  19. You can either buffer the 360 before jumping or do it as soon as you leave the ground. The move is highly effective and does a great deal of damage.
  20.
  21. Firing both weapons at once with Kilgore with PK(hold): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfirVZpcIdY
  22. Normally when you hold down a button to make her fire, only one set of weapons will fire, however, with Kilgore equipped on your hands, and pistols on your feet, both rockets will fire.
  23.
  24. Twirl Canceling
  25. Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g26DKJzhp5E
  26. Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvV1qG_uOJ8
  27.
  28. Panther Jump Offset: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2deY8C4auE
  29. You can switch between air and ground combos using panther jump. Umbran Spear should work similarly.
  30.
  31. Techniques shown off in Bayonetta 2 videos. Some of these may apply to Bayonetta 1, but the mechanics are different between the games. Worth noting is that the score reduction for repeating moves is greatly reduced in Bayonetta 2, so you do not need to vary attacks as much in order to achieve a high combo score.
  32.
  33. Umbran Spear Tracking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAEKRlBN8CM
  34. The tracking for Umbran Spear is pretty poor in this game, but that means it can be used effectively as a quick dash. It can't be directed though. This only applies to Bayonetta 2.
