- Canterbury named “UK’s No.1 Gadget City”: study
- Canterbury beats Bath and Stoke-on-Trent to gadget city crown.
- Average spend on gadgets per year per person in UK is £994.
- Biggest spending region of the UK is the Midlands.
- The average annual amount a person spends on gadgets in the UK may seem high at £994 but this is less than half the amount spent by new technology fans in Canterbury reveals a study.
- Canterbury (average of £1,916) easily beat Bath (£1,586) into second place and Stoke-on-Trent (£1,480) into third to be named the “UK’s No.1 Gadget City” in a study of householders from UK cities.
- The UK ranking comes from a poll of 1,100 responses carried out by Explori.com on behalf of The Gadget Show Live which runs from the 11th-15th April at the NEC. www.gadgetshowlive.net
- The study also shows that, above all, the biggest spending region for gadgets in the UK is the Midlands with 5 cities in the top 20.
- According to Sally Bent, Marketing Manager for The Gadget Show Live our passion for gadgetry is, if anything, on the increase: “The figures don’t surprise me. The standard of must-have technology is increasing all the time as is amount of exciting products on offer.”
