  1. In an effort to improve the process, the Team Fortress 2 team has changed how we'll be handling future community-created updates. From now on, these updates will be open to the entire community for contributions via the Steam Workshop. Themes for updates can be suggested to the TF2 team and if selected will be announced via the TF2 Blog, including a timeline for submissions and how the revenue from the update will be shared. The entire TF2 community will be invited to contribute content, including maps, models, taunts, and Unusual effects for the update, via the Steam Workshop. The TF2 team will select from these Workshop contributions the content that will be included in the update.

  3. We will no longer be accepting community updates outside of the method described above. Some of you have already started working on content for proposed future updates. Your creations can still be submitted to the Steam Workshop just like any other content for consideration, either as standalone content or as part of a themed future update.

  6. The plan is for Valve to consider suggestions for themed-updates from the community. If there is a theme we think would be interesting to pursue, we'll create a blog post announcing the theme and inviting the entire community to participate. The blog post will outline the theme, timeline, and how the revenue will be shared. There won't be official community team leaders for the themed-updates like there have been in the past. Just like anything that ships from the Workshop, items will be selected based on the community's input.

  9. Regarding community members who create things we don't have Workshops for (web pages, movies, etc.), we'll need to handle those on a case-by-case basis.
