  1. "So, uh..." Sora scratched at the back of his head. "You're the Avatar, huh?"

  3. "I guess so," Dani shrugged. "It seems like way too big of a deal for me! But the monks said I was destined for it, so here I am!"

  5. "Good luck, girlfriend. The world's kinda screwed right about now." Sora sighed, slumping into a pile of furs. "The Fire Nation's on the war path. The only thing opposing them's the Earth Kingdom, since we here in the Southern Water Tribe don't have the manpower to fight. The Northern Water Tribe could, but..."

  7. "Gosh! That sure does sound like a mess!" Dani sat down next to Sora, crosslegged. "So what do you do up here?"

  9. "Man, up here we just survive. I'm one of the only men in the village, so it's up to me to ward off any Fire Nation attacks."

  11. "That sounds really tough!"

  13. "Yeah, but it's gotta be even worse being an Air Nomad in this day and age."

  15. "What do you mean?"

  17. "You don't know?"

  21. Sora turned his face away and shrugged. "Some stuff. It's not that important, actually."

  23. "You're hiiiidin' something, ain'tcha!" Dani pouted. "Tell me!"

  25. "I'll be honest, yeah? I never really paid much attention to Air Nomad stuff. Anyway, you've gotta get outta here soon. I can't risk another attack on the village, not like last time. Sorry, Dani."

  27. "I'm gonna head out soon, I promise. As soon as Krypto's feeling better!"

  29. "Yeah..." Sora trailed off, and looked at the far side of the tent.

  31. "What?"

  33. "... I was sorta thinking that you've been asleep or whatever for two hundred years. You're kinda... you sure you'll be okay alone?"

  35. "I'll be just fine! I have lots of friends all over the place!"

  37. Sora sighed quietly. He shouldn't even be thinking of asking to escort her to the Northern tribe. The way she waltzed into their lives and brought trouble... but he could see she was a good girl. He wanted to be her friend and help her. She just had that sort of /draw/.

  39. "Well, for now just rest up, okay? You've got a big journey ahead of you."

  41. He picked himself up, and stepped out of the tent.
