Here's an idea:

We could have monthly competition similar to ones osu! has (see this - https://osu.ppy.sh/p/chart?ch=MONTH1612 )
and perhaps have some kind of server-wide reward? A role? Something to make the winner special?

So how would this work:

- At the start of each map there will be announced 5-10 beatmaps (not mapsets, but specific difficulty)
- And at the end of every month I would add up everyone's scores across all the maps
- One with the highest total score wins
Some side ideas to make it more fair between the various ranks + making it feel less dutiful:

- We could make them rank specific: One pool for aspirants, one for sensei
- Or I could just pick maps from a 3-4 star range so that everyone could compete on the same maps (while having seperate leaderboards at the end of the month based on your rank)
- These could be held every month. It wouldn't really matter when you choose play them, if at all. But competition is always fun :^)
- I would try to pick some interesting/fun songs/maps. Some more popular beatmaps as well as some underplayed gems

Some ending thoughts:

- A big pluss for this is that no one would need to post scores anywhere or do anything alike. Just play the maps
- This is just an idea and anything from possible rewards to format is all up for debate
- If anyone has any ideas, we could include an easter egg each week. For example - some extra prize for highest accuracy play on a certain map (these wouldn't be revealed to players until the month ends. Kinda like hidden achievements I would come up with)
- I would also require IGN of everyone on the server so I could add them as a friend in order to collect their scores off friends rankings
