So...here's the thing, Ms AsherahResearch:
You have spent an amazing amount of time trying to discredit the Jester. We get it. You think he's a fraud, a criminal who has no talent. You think you have proof of this that you've put together for anyone who is wise enough to agree with you. You think...no, you *know* he gets too much credit and too much acclaim for what has been nothing but smoke and mirrors.
It all leaves me with one question for you. Why do you think the majority of us care? (By us, I say his 30k+ followers.)
For the record, I do think the Jester has genuine talent. I think his skills are real.
But, to play devil's advocate for a moment, let's say they're not. Let's say he has no technical abilities whatsoever. Let's say everything he has done is the result of googling leads sent to him by others. I still say, BRAVO! What a fabulously entertaining performance! I, for one, think it's far more entertaining than anything on TV.
He's inspiring! In a world of corrupt politicians and endless partisan politics where problems are never solved - in a world of economic chaos and war despite our advancements and culture - in a world of natural disasters and poverty and fear and crime and terrorists who want to kill us because we're secular...or Christian...or Jew - in a world of haters on twitter - in our world today, we need heroes.
So many of us are too old or too fat, too lazy or too spoiled, too poor or too rich, too educated or not educated enough, work too hard, have too many bills or too many children to go to war. We can't sign up to fight; we wouldn't have what it would take to pull the trigger. We can't stomach the politics of the political system. Yet we long to do something. But what talents to do have? How can we make a difference?
The Jester has taken something he has and used it to fight. Maybe those are cyber skills or perhaps they are skills of information operations and social engineering. Whichever, whatever, it DOESN'T MATTER. He is what he is. And we, his supporters, love him for it and cheer him on. He's our own modern day hero, created not by stories of the past or authors of the present or by Hollywood producers or the news media. He created himself a hero, and I'm more than okay with that and I highly doubt I stand alone.
Does he have an actual effect on jihadists? Maybe, maybe not. (Devil's advocate again) Let's argue he's had no effect on them. So what? He's still inspired us. Has he had a negative effect on intel operations within the government? If so, quite frankly, that's their problem and they can deal with it. I can assure you that if the day comes when they care enough to throw the weight of the US law enforcement and intelligence community into figuring out who he is, they will - although I believe they already know and simply don't care. I bet many of them cheer him on too - because he inspires them.
And at the end of the day, don't ever think information operations can't have an effect. I'd recommend watching a video put out by Khamenei earlier today (http://t.co/YrGRSSLv - click at your own risk - it was put out on twitter by the Iranian regime). Gov't's, corporations, institutions and people have throughout history crafted their messages for all kinds of purposes. Just deal with it and move on - if he really irritates you that much - BLOCK HIM AND GO AWAY! You don't have to follow him - you don't have to keep track of what he does. You don't have to try and prove he has an ego by demonstrating the size of your own. So, please, for the good of the twitters...just. move. on.
And to the Jester - we love you (cue the screaming girls and wildly cheering fans). Keep fighting and so inspire us. Help us to believe we can make a difference just the way we are..humans shortcomings and all.
Just stayin' frosty, like he says.
