  19. Filling the firmament is a lattice of heavy grey clouds. The turbulent sky dominates the world here,
  20. raging against the stone and steel of the tower and churning with endless, sullen fury. Lightning
  21. flickers and snaps from the depths of the storm, crashing against the five steely prongs that arc
  22. from the plateau's outer surface to cage the sky, and waves of rolling thunder buffet and storm
  23. across the towertop incessantly. From this lofty height, half the world seems visible, caged only by
  24. the jagged silhouettes of mountain ranges squatting on the horizon; to the north, a fractured plain
  25. of ice and stormy ocean stretches away until it is lost to the naked eye, while the white expanse of
  26. the Western and Southern Tundras occupy the south, the city of Spinesreach a black, spiked blur at
  27. their edge. Every side of the tower is bordered by a vertiginous drop down onto the harsh, frigid
  28. mountains that cradle Stormcaller Crag, and the air is simultaneously freezing cold and crawling
  29. with energy. An imposing throne of gleaming iridium dominates the towertop, its shining form
  30. wreathed in crackling lightning. A five-sided pillar of dark, smoky quartz clutches at the sky with
  31. lightning-wreathed claws of stone, surrounded by a veil of turbulent air.  A churning, roiling storm
  32. flickers and thunders endlessly overhead, and the air is alive with ozone and electricity.
  33. You see a single exit leading down.

  45. With nary a whisper nor a sigh, rosy-fingered dawn creeps into the land, stealing the soul of the

  56. p cigar
  57. Long and slender, this cigar has been rolled from some kind of pale, striated material, resembling
  58. silk or spun silver in colour and texture. It burns with a bright, white light, quite unlike any
  59. traditional leaf, and the smoke coils and shifts in strange and minute patterns as it drifts upwards
  60. from the lit end. A band of bright red material encircles the cigar's midsection, bearing a simple
  61. white thunderbolt symbol.
  62. It weighs 3 ounce(s).
  63. It bears the distinctive mark of Maghak, the Sovereign.
  64. ignite cigar
  65. Strangely, you do not seem to need to light a slender silver cigar.
  66. smoke cigar
  67. As admirable an intention as this smoking urge is, you cannot smoke that.
  68. inhale smoke
  69. You bring a slender silver cigar to your lips and take a long drag.
  70. The smoke flows and shifts in your lungs like a fluid, prickles of coiling, invigorating energy
  71. crackling through your chest.
  72. emote grimaces a little, eyeing the cigar.
  73. You have emoted: Eleanor grimaces a little, eyeing the cigar.

  79. The howling gale whips at your form with unexpected violence, threatening to bowl you over.
  80. exhale smoke
  81. You release the lungful of living smoke, and it roils and shifts as it escapes your lips, forming
  82. strange, organic patterns in the air. Flickers of lightning dart and tumble through the cloud as it
  83. disperses.
  84.
  85. You have emoted: Eleanor's dark eyes watch the smoke closely as it coils away to join the rest of
  86. the windy firmament.

  92. The smoke flows and shifts in your lungs like a fluid, prickles of coiling, invigorating energy
  93. crackling through your chest.
  94.
  95. You have emoted: "I could get used to this," Eleanor says smokily, returning her gaze to the view.

  102. You have emoted: Eleanor kneels down at the edge of the drop, setting a bottle down beside herself
  103. with a muted clink of glass on stone.
  104.
  105. You drop a heavy glass bottle.
  106.
  107. You take a small sip of hot rice wine, the drink prickling with warmth and alcohol on the way down.
  108.
  109. You have emoted: "Sure beats the top of the walls for a view," Eleanor mumbles to herself.
  110.
  111. You have emoted: Eleanor curls her hands around the cup, warming them from it, though the wind
  112. threatens to numb her fingertips even so.

  115. You have emoted: Eleanor takes a small, dog-eared notebook from one of her pockets, followed by a
  116. much-abused stick of charcoal. "Let me see," she mutters, sipping at her wine with the other hand.
  117. "Business with the orrery. Test subjects." She squints at the view for a few moments. "Where to get
  118. those."

  121. You have emoted: Eleanor narrows her eyes a little as a particularly fierce gust of wind blows by.
  122. "Vessel for the Orrery." Chicken-scratch markings go down on her page. "Ask Him of the Wind about
  123. that one."
