- Basic Use
- 1. Loading MIDI files
- Press the 'Load MIDI' button
- Select a MIDI file (Must be a single-track file, some examples are included with the patch)
- Press the 'Process' button
- Wait until the 'Done Indicator' flashes red
- repeat process with other MIDI files if desired
- 2.Loading VST Instrument
- Press the 'Load VST' button
- Select your VST instrument (On a mac, they are found in "/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST")
- Press the 'Open VST' button
- Setup the instrument in your desired configuration
- 3. Loading samples
- Drag samples from your computer into the 'Drop Audio Sample Here' boxes
- Drag the waveform to your desired start-point (start point is defined at the left boundary of the viewer)
- 4. Recording Sample
- Make sure the correct input source is selected
- Enable DSP (click the ezdac button in the top right)
- Press the 'Start/Stop Record' to begin the recording
- Press it again to stop
- Drag the waveform to your desired start-point (start point is defined at the left boundary of the viewer)
- 5. Probability Grids
- Click within the yellow squares to change the probability of the rhythms of each instrument. (Lower is more probable)
- 6. Mixing interface
- Adjust the sliders to change the gain of each instrument
- the solo and mute toggles can be selected at any time
- The overall gain can be adjusted at the top right of the patch
- 7. Tempo
- the tempo can be changed by adjusting the number box manually
- you can tap tempo using the button provided
- you can use the Conductors Baton (The threshold of which can be changed using the labelled slider)
- You can elect to make the tap tempo and conductors baton audible with the 'Beat Sound' checkbox
- 8. Other settings
- Select 'Texture Randomisation' if you would like a varying texture in the music
- Select 'Pitch Track' if you would like the recorded/dragged sample at the bottom to follow the key of the music
- Adjust the playback speed dial at the bottom to manually change the pitch of the recorded/dragged sample (This will only work with the 'Pitch Track' toggle disabled).
- Clicking in the white square next to the Arpeggio grid will change the timbre of the arpeggio synth.
- The main output filtering can be edited using the filter graph and the menu above can be used to select the filtering type.
- 9. The spacebar is used to start or stop the patch (or you can click the large checkbox in the upper left)
- The 'M' key can be used at any time to un-mute all the tracks
