  1. We were walking on the path leading away from the movie theater. Moments after crossing out of the parking lot, the silence was broken.
  2.
  3. "Minnie is a real baby, isn't she?" To my left, a young girl spoke in a teasing voice. "She can't even pee without somebody holding her hand."
  4.
  5. To my right, another young girl gave out a startled squeak. "I, um..." Minnie stopped, which forced me to stop too. The girl to my left continued walking several steps ahead before finally ceasing.
  6.
  7. Kira, the girl in front of us, spun around in an exaggerated motion. The soaked diaper underneath her miniskirt was sagging enough to be briefly visible. She put on a smile and struck a cutesy pose, trying to pave over the malice of her words.
  8.
  9. Minnie, still shaken, pretended to fall for Kira's act and began walking again. Seeing this, Kira immediately turned around and began walking as well. I could tell that Kira intended on holding a lead on us.
  10.
  11. I could not see Minnie's diaper beneath her sundress, but I knew that it had to be very wet as well. At two points during the movie, she started squirming, obviously needing to use the restroom. Both times ended with her grabbing my hand and letting herself go all at once. I didn't think much of it the first time, but during the second time, I caught Kira looking at us with a mischievous grin.
  12.
  13. Minnie wouldn't want to move quickly while being so wet, so I reached for her hand to help her. She withdrew when she realized what I was doing.
  14.
  15. "It's okay." I whispered to her. I brushed my arm against hers, trying to coax her to cooperate. She eventually gave in and I started gently pulling her along to catch up with Kira.
  16.
  17. "Did the baby have to pee again already?" I felt Minnie jump in response to this second attack. I adjusted my fingers around her hand, trying to reassure her.
  18.
  19. "You know Kira..." I hesitated just enough to make sure I had her attention. "...babies don't have to walk."
  20.
  21. In a swift motion, I lifted Minnie off her feet. She was alarmed for a moment, but settled into my arms when she recognized the look of envy on Kira's face. This further exacerbated Kira's emotional state, causing her to pout and look away.
  22.
  23. Kira was silent and her eyes never raise back up to level as we walked home. It wasn't until we arrived and she discovered that Minnie had fallen asleep in my arms that she briefly became riled up.
