Isle Del Sol Session I

[17:27] <%Somber> It was a perfectly normal day in the wasteland.  The wind was blowing.  The clouds were spitting.  The guns were shooting.  The slavers were slaving and life in general was hardly pleasant in the slightest.  Still, life goes on and everyone has to go through the daily morning rituals...
[17:29] * Lazer_Blazer talks to the bar owner for some work, heck may as well do some thing different
[17:30] * Naphthalena covered a yawn with a clawed hand as she climbed up out of a broken window onto a nearby fire escape. Sleeping in the upper floors of a blocked off building was, relatively, safe. But it made getting down a little bit of a pain.
[17:30] * Sedgewick Mmmm. Smells good. Smells like roasted rabbit. He gives it another turn as it cooks over the campfire. Dinner. Can't wait.
[17:31] * Calamine gets into her boat, ready to leave her home of the Summerset Islands for the first time and begin her shamanistic journey. With her packs on her back, her medicine stick slung over her shoulder, and a perserved orchid in her mane, the shaman-in-training sets off towards the mythical wasteland of Equestria, where once the spirits of Harmony dwelt.
[17:31] * Candlelight_Sonata silently lighted along the trail.  Looked like Radhog was going to be on the menu tonight!  Mom and the little ones would be happy for that.  Her duster flapped loosely around her as she searched for her quarry.
[17:32] * Lazer_Blazer get the feeling that he keeps looking at her white flank for to long or was he looking at her pastel rainbow colored lightning bolt of a cutie mark "Hay boob eyes up here." as she ponts to her pink eyes just befor running a hoof through her pastel green, pink,and yellow mane.
[17:33] * Strifer jumps out of an abandoned and completely trashed sky wagon, the sinewy large mare looks with a frown at the horizon, if this bad luck kept up she woulnt find anything valuable. She groans, tosses her saddlebags back up on her back and sets out again. Perhaps the next settlement would have better salvaging?
[17:36] <%Somber> A perfectly ordinary day.  Perfectly ordinary.  Except for the white stars slowly drifting through the clouds.  They gleamed brightly as they wandered back and forth over the landscape, twinkling brightly as they wandered over the seven individuals.  They glimmered and bobbed, sweeping down towards them and circling them like tiny humming satellites.  The
[17:36] <%Somber> light they emitted flashed more and more excitedly as the hoof sized motes whirled about each of them.
[17:36] * Lazer_Blazer glares at the bar keep "So do you need a musician or not?" she asked
[17:38] * Calamine stares at the motes of light with a sense of wonder. "What kind of spirits are you?" she asks politely.
[17:38] * Sedgewick straightens his neck and starts to preen his brown feathers, aligning them so the lustre of his brass highlights shimmers in the firelight. He could start eating, sure... but not yet. It's not perfectly cooked yet.
[17:38] * Sedgewick flicks his tail at the lights. "Fireflies. Go 'way."
[17:39] <%Somber> The whirling ball of light whiped through the edge of the boat, vaporizing a trench... and the rabbit... and chunks of the bar.
[17:39] * Lazer_Blazer moves back from the light mote, but it follows none the less "Oh buck me side ways. This is not good."
[17:39] * Strifer blink blinks, squinting her eyes. Flicking her purple, straggly tail she reaches out a hoof to bat at the mote. ".. The fuck? Am I still..?"
[17:40] * Candlelight_Sonata blinks as stars appear in her vision.  "I... oh that's not good..."
[17:40] * Naphthalena blinked in confusion at the weird glowing light.
[17:40] * Calamine gasps, her eyes widening as she tried her best to stay afloat on her remaining half of a boat. "Please, there's no need to be angry. Can't we just stay calm. I need my boat."
[17:41] * Sedgewick narrows his eyes. "You ain't no fireflies. Why you eatin' my dinner?"
[17:42] <%Somber> Suddenly the whirling stars glowed brighter and brighter, and then there was a blinding flash.  Across Equestria, and the oceans, seven individuals disappeared.  Stories would spread about space ponies, and zebras, wisking them away to their star ships... or just people thinking they disappeared.  But for the seven, the reality was quite different.  The seven
[17:43] <%Somber> of them appeared on a equal number of platforms in a strange, metal, bunker like room.  Smoke wafted through the air, and somewhere above were the chatter of rapid fire guns and screams, along with mad giggles.
[17:44] * Sedgewick "Which one of you fireflies stole my rabbit!?"
[17:44] * Calamine blinks before looking around the room. Seeing the others around her, she asks, "Is everyone alright? Does anyone know what happened?"
[17:45] <%Somber> The six of them could barely see each other in the dim emergency lighting.
[17:46] * Lazer_Blazer turns around with a start, looking over the chamber she was in. "Can some pony tell me what happened?"
[17:46] * Candlelight_Sonata immediately flips her rifle off her back, scanning the room, trying to figure out who was a threat and who wasn't.  Her tufted ears twitch at the sounds of gunfire and screams coming from all around them.
[17:47] * Sedgewick rumbles a warning growl. "Magic happened!"
[17:47] * Calamine recoils from the screams, crouching low and praying. Maybe a friendly spirit will hear her and help.
[17:47] * Strifer shakes herself vigirously, looking up she grins from ear to ear. "Okay, this is some crazy fucking high. Damn!." Looking up, ears perking up at the sounds above. "They usualy don't involve this much gunfire though, eh.. Most of the time. Huh." Jumping as she notices the others in the room. "Hey, what the fuck are you doing in my dreamstate?!"
[17:47] <%Somber> From the machine gun fire above, it didn't sound like there was a friendly spirit here....
[17:48] * Naphthalena blinked in confusion as she was somewhere... Well, somewhere else. The sudden gunfire wasn't a pretty sound either. The little dragon made a quick break for the nearest door. Out would be good. or bad.
[17:48] * Lazer_Blazer waves her forehooves at the pony? with a gun "A can you put that down. Somepony is going to get shot."
[17:48] <%Somber> There was a steep stair leading up... in the direction of the gunfire.
[17:49] * Calamine looks up at the Earth Pony. "I don't think this is a dream."
[17:49] * Candlelight_Sonata watches the dragon run toward the door, and makes a dive for the little one.  "Hold up sweetheart.  I don't think that's a good idea."
[17:49] * Naphthalena paused. Well, that wasn't good. "Um... Maybe... Maybe we should save arguing for when there's not a firefight going on somewhere in the same building..?" She fidgeted her claws as she spoke. Speaking up probably meant someone would notice her, and that usually didn't end well.
[17:50] * Lazer_Blazer sighs as the batpony was no longer pointing a gun at her
[17:50] * Sedgewick thinks he looks rather dreamy, but he's way to shy to say so. "Call me Sedgewick. Or anything you like, except 'late for dinner'. WHICH I AM BECAUSE SOME FIREFLY TOOK MY ROAST RABBIT!" He begins to seethe.
[17:51] * Sedgewick "Fire...fight? What? All I hear are guns going off."
[17:51] * Strifer is indeed an graycoated earthpony, her hide is scarred, her ears nicked. "Oh yeah, cause these fucking things, being teleported around happens all the time where you're from, eh, Zebra?" She raises an eyebrow at Calamine.
[17:51] * Lazer_Blazer trots over to the stairway "Well if this is the way out. And the way to all that shoting."
[17:52] * Calamine stand slowly. "I thought they were spirits at first, but I don't think they were. This is more than most spirits usually interfere with the physical world unless they're spirits of Chaos."
[17:53] * Candlelight_Sonata glances up the stairwell over Naphthalena's head.  "Whatever happened, it ain't good."  she says, looking back to the others.  She looks at Lazer_Blazer and Strifer.  "I'm gonna guess you two are the only others who know how to fight?  Cause if that's the case, let's think before jumping into a furball."
[17:53] * Sedgewick shakes his head. "I'd a known if they were spirits. I yelled at one, and it didn't respond. I don't think they're spirits."
[17:54] * Naphthalena fidgets nervously. "Um. W-well I just don't think it'd be a good idea to be trapped down here when whomever's shooting up the place gets to us..."
[17:54] * Calamine takes a step back. "Fighting? Do we really have to fight? Maybe we can just show they creatures fighting upstairs that we aren't their enemy and they'll let us leave?"
[17:54] * Sedgewick scowls. "Excuse me? Big tough griffin? Sharp talons?" He extends them and leaves fine scratches on the metal.
[17:55] * Lazer_Blazer unholsters her recharger rifle "Look like this is the only way.'' then looks over at Sedgewick "Thats a Griffion, if her don't know how to fight, I'll be a mules aunt."
[17:55] * Candlelight_Sonata points to Strifer's hoofclaws.  "Meant no offense, love.  Just saw those first."
[17:55] * Sedgewick twitches his tail animatedly in a show of irritation. Only fighters indeed!
[17:55] * Strifer snorts. "Suuure, spirits. Ohhhoohh, scary." Glancing over at Candlelight_Sonata, walking over towards teh stairway. "Fighting, of course. And unlike the griff over there Im acctually capable." She says, giving a cocky grin at Sedgewick.
[17:55] <%Somber> The top of the stairs opened up in a large room lined with a dozen terminals, most of them shot up and smoking.  In the corner there was a large heap of arcane equipment with two large lizard like creatures yanking and pulling at it.  They were larger than the dragoness, about the size of a teenage dragon, and armed with bizarre weapons that looked like a
[17:56] <%Somber> half dozen firearms welded together.
[17:56] * Calamine whimpers slightly as her ears fold back. "I am only a shaman-in-training and a healer. I'm not of the warrior caste."
[17:56] * Sedgewick growls. It is as thunder, only longer.
[17:56] * Candlelight_Sonata looks over to Calamine with concern.  "What's your name, Sweetheart?"
[17:58] * Lazer_Blazer takes aim at one of the lizard things and wispers to the rest "I don't think their friendly."
[17:58] * Sedgewick pounces up the steps and sticks his head through the doorway. "Which one of you stole my roast rabbit!?"
[17:58] * Lazer_Blazer and at that facehoofs
[17:58] <Calamine> "Calamine," she says weakly before noticing Candlelight_Sonata's wings. "Oh! Are you a pegasus?" She then notices the rest of the group, but also the lizard like creatures. "Oh my!"
[17:59] <%Somber> One of the lizard like creatures turns towards the top of the stairs, swinging his gun over and unloading a wild barrage of fire from four or five of the barrels at once.  "GLEE HE HE HE HEEE!!!!  GONNAKILL ALLAZUZE!"
[17:59] * Candlelight_Sonata squeaks out a series of unintelligible sounds.  "Consarnit, Griff, they ain't the one that stole your rabbit.  Calamine, stay behind me, honey."
[18:00] * Sedgewick throws himself back out of the doorway, out of the line of fire.
[18:00] * Calamine nods, staying behind the bat pony.
[18:01] <%Somber> BADADADADADADADADADADADA!!! goes the gun, sparking and ricocheting around the top of the stairs
[18:01] * Strifer spits on the ground as she watches Sedgewick. "Fucking well done there, featherbrain. Smooth mooves!" Cracking her neck, "Time for some headbashin', come and get us!"
[18:02] * Candlelight_Sonata looks at Sedgewick.  "I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that you weren't unduly burdened by an overabundance of schooling."  She quips, quietly.  Whenever she talks, it sounds like she's trying to make her voice deeper.
[18:03] * Sedgewick "Hey! I read plenty of books when I was young! My ma just had to help me with some of the words!"
[18:03] * Naphthalena yelps in surprise at the sudden much closer gunfire, taking cover at the bottom of the stairs. She could fight if she had to, but that didn't make it preferable!
[18:09] * Candlelight_Sonata braces against the corner at the bottom of the stairs, rifle pointed upward.  "Callie, little one,"  she says to Naphthalena, "Stay back a pace.  Don't want nopony getting hurt don't have to."
[18:12] <%Somber> As Lazer moves up to the doorway, she's spattered with bullets from the wildly firing lizard.
[18:14] <Strifer> "Get the fuck down here hornhead!"
[18:17] <%Somber> The beam bites into the lizard, who screams in agony.  The other laughs outrageously.
[18:18] * Lazer_Blazer stand as she is hit with a few rounds and put two bolt of energy in to one, then moves down the stairway as fast as she can
[18:19] * Sedgewick leaps up the stairs again and through the doorway at the wounded.... thing.
[18:20] * Strifer ([email protected]) Quit ( Ping timeout: 121 seconds )

[18:20] <%Somber> He flies up and get nicked by the wild fire, and charges is.  One yanks a piece of equipment off the computer as Sedgewick charges the injured lizard man.

[19:05] * Calamine swallows hard. "What about you? Or the others? I don't want anyone to get hurt... Maybe..." she says before seeing Lazer_Blazer run in. "Oh no! You're hurt. Let me help you." She then looks through the packs on her back for medical supplies.

[19:45] * Lazer_Blazer looks to the zebra "It's not that bad." she tells Calamine
[19:47] <%Somber> The lizard creature was torn into, it's hide quite tough, but tearing under Sedge's claws.  The second lizard clutches a device to its chest as it races out a door.  The apparatus left behind smoked and crackled from the piece torn away.  It swung its gun at sedgewick, trying to shove the many sharp and pointy bits into the griffon as its companion fled.
[19:48] <%Somber> The huge, ungangly weapon wooshed over the griffon, and it smashed into the wall, letting out a dozen more shots.
[19:49] * Calamine winces at the sound of more gunfire.
[19:49] <Calamine> "Are you sure?" she asks Lazer_Blazer
[19:51] * Lazer_Blazer looks over the hits from what was mostly fragments and nods "Not as bad as it looks, and I've had some bad hits in my time."
[19:52] * Sedgewick continues to swipe and claw at the lizard thing
[19:54] * Lazer_Blazer sighs "Is that thing still alive. Wait here." she tells no one in particular as she trots back up the stairway
[19:58] <%Somber> The second lizard creature lets out a hiss and turns and hurries out the door as well.  It paused in the doorway, pulling out two pins on its amalgam weapon and dropping it, then falls to all fours and runs down the hall cackling, its wounds dripping a bilous redish orange blood... but not as much as most greviously wounded creatures would.
[20:01] * Sedgewick breaks into a sprint after the lizard creature
[20:03] * Calamine stares up at the creature, realizes what it is, and gasps. "It's a gecko! I didn't know they could talk," she says excitement at seeing a new creature overwhelming her sense of terror for a moment.
[20:04] * Candlelight_Sonata squints and looks at the creature.  "Huh.  Guess you're right, Callie.  These ones do seem a might smarter and a bit meaner than normal though."
[20:08] <%Somber> From the floor above comes a loud explosion as the gun suddenly detonates, and a second later crackles and pops wildly as a storm of bullets fly off the burning weapon.  The gecko takes the hit but doesn't fall, it's tough hide resistant to the blast as it rolls down the bunker's hall.
[20:09] * Candlelight_Sonata lays her ears back as she hears the sound of the explosion upstairs.  "That idiot...  What in the sorrell hells was he thinking?"
[20:09] * Sedgewick is thinking of the roast rabbit he'll never get to eat and the rumbly in his tumbly.
[20:09] <%Somber> As the smoke clears, Sedge sees he's caught up with the injured gecko, and his uninjured friend.
[20:10] <%Somber> Perhaps its the smoke.  Perhaps its just dumb luck, but the two lizards fail to rip his wings on and make a wish.
[20:11] * Candlelight_Sonata sighs.  "Ya'll wait here.  You with the laser.  Keep the young ones safe."  She says, spreading her leathery wings and flying up the stairs.
[20:11] * Lazer_Blazer gets almost to the top of the stairs as the bomb goes off "Oh shit." was all she could hear after the blast
[20:13] * Calamine swallows hard. "He's definitely hurt now. I... I need to go see if Mr. Griffin needs help," she says before rushing upstairs. Upon seeing the two geckos on top of him, Calamine screams. "Someone help him! He needs help!" before moving to the side to let the warriors through.
[20:15] * Sedgewick keeps charging and slams full tilt into the injured gecko
[20:16] <%Somber> Once again, the gecko is injured, but it seems to be healing almost as fast as it's hurt.
[20:22] <%Somber> Once again.  The Gecko is cut.  It appears to be healing almost as fast as its hurt.
[20:22] * Sedgewick nearly bounces off of the gecko, but he swipes and claws it some more anyways.
[20:23] * Calamine looks at the situation and knows its hopeless. "Mr. Griffin, I don't think we can beat them. We have to run!"
[20:24] <%Somber> The two set their claws in and tear him into a bloody mess.  One looks like it wants to eat him, but the other claws his face and they disappear around the corner, leaving sedgewick a bloody heap on the floor.
[20:24] * Sedgewick leaks
[20:25] * Candlelight_Sonata flies down the hallway and stands in front of Sedgewick, watching the geckos retreat.  "Calamine, now might be a good time to be helpful.  He's got a lot of red on him."
[20:26] * Sedgewick tries to protest. He's brown, not red! Can't the silly flying pony see that?
[20:26] * Lazer_Blazer yells out "Oh buck me this is not good." as she trots to the corner to see if ther still there
[20:26] * Naphthalena squeaks a little as she creeps up the stairs as the fighting seems to have died down a little. This is... Well, not good at all.
[20:26] <%Somber> Around the corner, Candle sees a stairway going up.  Two scaley tails disappear through a doorway at the top.
[20:27] * Sedgewick moans. "Back... pack... potion..."
[20:27] * Calamine nods, rushing over to him and pulls out the only healing potion she had left that the spirits didn't break and administers it to the injured griffin.
[20:30] <%Somber> The potion stablizes him, but he's still quite a bloody mess.
[20:31] * Candlelight_Sonata digs through Sedgewick's backpack for the potion, and hoofs it to Calamine
[20:31] * Sedgewick groans as he sits up. "Thanks... stupid lizards stole my rabbit, blew me up, and then clawed me!"
[20:31] * Naphthalena fidgets nervously. "Um. W-we'd better get out of here really fast. Before someone comes back and blames this on us!" She was a paranoid little dragon, it seemed.
[20:31] <Calamine> "Thank you," Calamine says as Sedgewick sits up. "Here. Take this. You're still hurt."
[20:32] * Candlelight_Sonata purses her lips together and exhasperatedly snorts at Sedgewick.  She motions to Naphthalena.  "Stay close, little one.  We'll be off as soon as featherbrain here can limp without bleeding to death."
[20:32] * Sedgewick recognizes it from his backpack. "Thank you."
[20:33] * Lazer_Blazer looks over her shoulder "They ran up this stairway. Should we chase after them?"
[20:34] * Candlelight_Sonata points a hoof at Sedgewick.  "That a good enough answer for you?"
[20:34] * Sedgewick shakes his head. "Unless you two have some seriously dangerous firepower, don't bother. I swear I saw their wounds closing even as I made them."
[20:34] * Calamine shakes her head. "They are intelligent and healing faster than Mr. Griffin could hurt them. We should find a safe place."
[20:34] <%Somber> The sound of gunfire and screams was slackening off.
[20:35] * Lazer_Blazer shrugs "Didn't say rush at them. More like follow'em and see whats up."
[20:36] * Candlelight_Sonata frowns.  "Sounds like a good way to get your hide peppered, but... if you think you can stay far enough away to not get shot..."  She looks conflictedly between the two adults and the younger members of the impromptu group.
[20:36] * Sedgewick "I also saw one of them take a chunk of out of..." He looks around, then points at the damaged equipment "-that thing, and make off with it. Didn't look shiny, so I'm guessing it knew what it took."
[20:38] <Calamine> "They seem different from normal geckos and that seems a lot more dangerous than their more common cousins."
[20:38] * Lazer_Blazer moves over to look at the epuipment that Sedgewick pointed out
[20:39] * Naphthalena fidgets a little more, looking up the stairs. "I think we should get out of here and find out where 'here' is... We could be anywhere!"
[20:40] <Calamine> "I agree with the young dragon."
[20:40] * Lazer_Blazer gives it look over 'Hmmmssss' some
[20:43] * Sedgewick "HUMMMMMM"
[20:43] * Sedgewick snickers
[20:43] * Sedgewick "You sound like an owl."
[20:43] * Candlelight_Sonata sighs and swings her rifle off of her back.  She extends a hoof to Sedgewick.  "Can you stand until we get somewhere a little more secure?"
[20:44] * Sedgewick dusts hisself off. "I can get around fine. Healing potions do that."
[20:45] * Lazer_Blazer steps back "Ugh I think this is bad. Like balefire bombs. It looks like some kind of fire control computer for them. And they just ran off with some of it." as she points to the way the two ran off in
[20:45] <%Somber> It's been several minutes with no sounds of shots.
[20:45] * Candlelight_Sonata eyes get wide.  "What?"
[20:46] * Sedgewick "What's a 'fire control computer' do and what's it have to do with those awful bombs?"
[20:47] * Lazer_Blazer nods then "There what make them hit where ever you what them to hit like Canterlot."
[20:49] * Lazer_Blazer sighs "Now I know we shoud follow them or at lest get out of here. As it loks like there the same way."
[20:49] * Sedgewick "So you're saying we're inside a, a, bunker? A balefire bomb launching bunker?"
[20:50] * Candlelight_Sonata eyes Lazer_Blazer suspiciously.  "I agree.  We should leave.  Quickly."  She motions toward Calamine and Naphthalena.  "Come along, stick close."  She says as she trots down the hallway.
[20:51] * Calamine nods and follows Candlelight_Sonata.
[20:51] * Sedgewick ambles along behind. "Alright, fine. I still wanna kill that stupid lizard thing, but I'm not quite dumb enough to try it again. For now."
[20:51] * Naphthalena follows along, keeping her eyes open to the surroundings. "I've never seen a place quite like this before."
[20:53] <%Somber> This appeared to be some kind of bunker.  This level seemed to be fire control.  There was a small bathroom off to the side.  There were three bodies inside, and oddly enough, none of them appear eaten, just shot all to hell.  A pony and two zebra.  Most of the terminals seem to be thrashed but one is still working and flickering.
[20:53] * Lazer_Blazer shakes her head "I don't know what this place is. But that ballistic trajectory computer looks like the rest I've seen, just not in one peace."
[20:56] * Naphthalena looks into the room, heading towards the active terminal. She poked at it curiously, trying to figure out what was going on.
[20:57] <Sedgewick> yay!
[20:57] * Candlelight_Sonata checks over the bodies, pulling a small crescent moon pendant out of her duster.  She looks like she's about to speak, before giving Calamine a sidelong glance and deciding to put the pendant away.
[20:58] * Calamine goes over to investigate the bodies.
[21:01] * Candlelight_Sonata looks to Lazer_Blazer.  "How do you know what this stuff is, miss...?"
[21:03] * Calamine carefully looks over the bodies and realizes they're still warm. "They were killed recently. We should... Hold on," she says, stopping mid sentence and moving into the bathroom. "Hello? Are you okay? If you are hurt, know that I am of the shaman caste and am a healer."
[21:04] * Sedgewick stands over the dead bodies. "I'm sorry you're dead. I know it came as a shock."
[21:05] * Candlelight_Sonata blinks and smiles at Sedgewick.  "That was right poetical, Mr. Griffin."
[21:05] <%Somber> From the bathroom, a feminine voice says, "G...g...go away.  I... I'm armed... I'll... I kill you..."
[21:06] * Sedgewick looks up. "Hmm? Oh, I was just talking to these poor dead people. They're kind of in shock." He looks down, almost ashamed. "I'm not very good with words. But I try to help when I can."
[21:06] * Lazer_Blazer looks to Candlelight_Sonata "Oh seen some in this one caravan I was with. But they where just mostly junk."
[21:06] * Calamine stops, looking a little uneasy at the mention of a weapon. "I am unarmed. I mean you no harm. My name is Calamine. What's yours?"
[21:06] <Lazer_Blazer> "Oh and the name Lazer_Blazer and your is?"
[21:07] * Candlelight_Sonata motions for the group to talk more softly and back away from the bathroom.  "Candlelight Sonata.  Sona would do, I realise it's a mouthful."
[21:07] * Sedgewick continues to talk to thin air. "I don't know what you guys were doing. I really don't. I'd like to help if I can."
[21:07] <%Somber> "C...c... Condeza.  Are you with the B- B- Baron?"
[21:08] * Candlelight_Sonata swivels her ears toward the bathroom, listening to Calamine and Condeza.
[21:08] * Sedgewick sighs. "I know it must hurt to leave things unfinished, but that is the way of everyone who dies. All you can do is hope that others will continue your work. I'm offering my help, but you have to tell me what you were trying to do."
[21:09] * Calamine shakes her head. "I do not know any Baron, but it is a pleasure to meet you, Condeza. My tribe is led by elders. Is this Baron your leader? I know the word has a leadership meaning to it like a Prince or King."
[21:11] <%Somber> The door to the bathroom unlatches and opens enough for a bright blue eye to peek out.  "W...where did you come from.  You can't be with those geckos...."
[21:11] * Lazer_Blazer stairs at Sedgewick "If you where an Earth Pony I wouldn't find that so creepy. But I guess even giffions have there wired ones. Its them that have past that your talking to I hope."
[21:12] * Calamine shakes her head. "No. The people I am with and I were surrounded by these lights and were transported downstairs. This is very confusing."
[21:12] * Naphthalena swallows a little nervously at the ongoing conversation. She wasn't sure who to trust at the moment, after all.
[21:13] <%Somber> "You..." the door opens enough that a bright blue feathered head pops out.  It's the most colorful griffon ever imagined.  "You... you appeared here?  From some where else?"  The gray and blue feathered head belonged to a young adult griffon, perhaps a year or two younger the Sedge.

[21:14] * Sedgewick has a look of intense concentration on his face. Followed by confusion. Followed by intense sorrow. He ignores Lazer_Blazer and speaks again, apparently to nothing at all. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Maybe I can show you that I don't mean harm..." He looks round desperately and when his eyes settle on the bodies they harden. "I'll bury you. That's how I'll prove it."
[21:15] * Sedgewick nods and mumbles quietly to himself. "I'll give you a grave. You can keep your secrets there, if you want."
[21:15] * Lazer_Blazer just sighs and goes to keep an eye out for more geckos or what ever may come at them
[21:15] * Sedgewick winces at some unknown pain.
[21:15] * Candlelight_Sonata steps closer to the terminal and kneels down so she's at Naphthalena's height.  "Are you doing alright?"  She asks.
[21:16] * Naphthalena blinks a little in confusion at Candlelight's question. "I'll be okay. I think. Maybe? It's not the first time something really weird has happened to me. But... That doesn't make it easy."
[21:16] * Calamine nods. "Yes. I was just starting my shamanistic pilgrimage when the lights attacked me and transported me here. Are you from here?"
[21:17] * Sedgewick "Alright. I made a promise. Calamine? Can you help me? I want to make sure these three are buried properly, and I don't know any zebra burial rights."
[21:18] * Candlelight_Sonata nods, not really understanding, but letting the dragon know she's been heard.  "Would you like to tell me your name?  My name's Sona, if you didn't hear." She smiles at the young dragon.
[21:18] * Calamine looks back at Sedgewick. "I will be with you shortly," she calls back out the bathroom before returning her attention to Condeza.
[21:19] <%Somber> The griffon slips out.  She's wearing a lab coat and gloves covering her claws.  She gasps and sobs as she looks at the bodies.  "Oh no.  No no no.  They can't be dead."  Her feline half has a spotted, jaguar like coat, though a gray and black rather than yellow.  She seems loathe to get near the bodies.  "This can't be happening..."
[21:20] * Naphthalena looks up to Sonata nervously, swallowing before she replies. "I'm Naphthalena. Though most of my friends used to call me Naph..."
[21:21] * Calamine looks sadly at the bodies. "I am sorry for your loss. We will take them and give them a proper burial once we are safely away from the geckos, but we must hurry. Are you hurt?" she says, putting a gentle hoof on the colorful griffin's shoulder.
[21:22] * Sedgewick "I'm sorry, Condenza. They are dead, and they are very sad that they couldn't finish what they were doing... and they are very mad. They think I'm against them, but I promise you I am not. I promised them a burial. Can you at least tell me their names?"
[21:23] * Candlelight_Sonata gives Naphthalena a reassuring smile.  "You remind me of little sister.  I'll try to keep you safe, ok, kiddo?"  She turns as Condeza enters the room and listens to the others.
[21:24] * Calamine blinks. "You can speak with spirits? I felt that they were a bit angry with you, but I was busy helping Condeza. It is the healer's way to help the living and the shaman's way to help the spirit world, but the living must come first. Once they are safe, we can attend to the dead and the spiritual."
[21:25] * Naphthalena fidgets a little nervously. "Your sister's a dragon..?" That question was delivered with the sort of mixed-hope and unbelieving of someone who wanted it to be true, but expected it to not be.
[21:25] * Sedgewick looks ashamed. "I'm not very good with words. They think I'm part of the group that killed them."
[21:28] <%Somber> "Not all.  I was just a lab assistant.  I helped clean and fix things.  Doctor Aspen was the unicorn in charge... and Elder Xaan was the zebra who found this place.  The others... Broadleaf... Xenia... Gwyldia... I didn't know so well."  She trembled, shaking her head.  "They were inventing a way to get people off the island by magic... or technology... or
[21:29] <%Somber> I'm not exactly sure.  Maybe the Doctor left notes?"
[21:29] * Candlelight_Sonata turns back to Naphthalena and smiles, her mismatched green and purple eyes crinkling at the corners.  "Oh, no, sweetie.  She's a little pony like me.  But she's probably about your age. Her name's Tailored Bow.  I usually just call her Tay-Tay."
[21:30] <Calamine> "Then we should take their bodies, find a safe place, give them a burial, and try to find your other friends."
[21:30] * Naphthalena looks down a little sadly. "Oh." She listens a little to what the griffin had to say, mostly just for a lack of things to add.
[21:31] * Sedgewick "They succeeded. How do you think we all got here?"
[21:31] * Lazer_Blazer looks over her shoulder at the rest then back down the hall "This place just get better and better." she said out loud to herself
[21:34] * Somber looked at Sedgewick and gives a little chirp, flushing and looking away.  "Welll... maybe we can check the upper levels and see if anyone else survived?  There were two dozen of us working down here for almost a year."
[21:34] * Calamine pales slightly. "Isn't that the direction the geckos ran?"
[21:35] * Candlelight_Sonata tries to hide a sad look as Naphthalena looks down.  She speaks up for the first time.  "Might be a good idea to get up there then.  Make sure everypony is safe."
[21:35] * Sedgewick casts a pained look at the recently alive. "I hope so. I don't think I could take much more screaming at."
[21:35] * Lazer_Blazer looks back at the giffioness comment "And what was it you'll where doing down here for a year?"
[21:39] <%Somber> She looked over at Lazer.  "Um... mostly making coffee...  I cook pretty well too.  Fixing things up if they broke... and they broke alot.  Cleaning the bathroom."  She flushed, her plumage laying back as she ran a dark gray hand through her feathers.  "I... um... I probably wasn't the most important person here.  Mostly I just did what the smart people told

[21:40] * Sedgewick "So even if the way to send us all back was working, you couldn't work it anways?"
[21:41] <%Somber> "Maybe?  With the Doctor's notes... I might.  I was in here when they ran they test... till the attack started."  She frowned and looked up.  "I don't know how they got in.  It was supposed to be shut tight."
[21:42] * Candlelight_Sonata skews a tufted ear over.  "This place is sealed?  Or supposed to be?"
[21:42] * Lazer_Blazer slumps "Well lets look for them doctor notes. If thats our only way back home."
[21:43] <%Somber> She nodded.  "Yes.  Huge blast door.  Only the people in charge knew the code to open it."
[21:46] * Sedgewick "Condenza... Where are we?"
[21:47] <%Somber> She blinked.  "This is a missile silo on Isla Del Sol."
[21:47] * Sedgewick "Where's that?"
[21:48] <%Somber> "Um... in the ocean?"
[21:49] * Sedgewick "I mean, how far are we from Equestria?"
[21:49] <Calamine> "I wonder if it is near my home? I am from the Summerset Islands."

[21:52] * Candlelight_Sonata sits down hard on her flanks.  "We're where?  I... buck me!"
[21:54] <%Somber> "Um... Equestria?  That's the ponylands, right?"  She chewed on a claw.  "Um... I think... well... you'd have to go to Saddle Arabia... then cross the zebra jungle... then another ocean... I think.  Maybe two.  Then you might reach it."
[21:55] * Calamine hums. "Doesn't sound familiar."
[21:55] * Sedgewick "Y'know, I think just saying 'really far away' would have worked too."
[21:56] <%Somber> "Sorry...."
[21:56] * Candlelight_Sonata runs a hoof through her mane.  "Ok...  Things'll be ok at home.  They'll get dinner from somewhere.  Maybe some caravan'll come by.  Oh fuck..."
[21:57] * Naphthalena looks up to Sonata sadly. "Um. Well... If it's any consolation, at least you're not here alone, right? If-if we could get back the part, maybe we could all go back?"
[21:58] * Candlelight_Sonata lets out a breath and smiles at Naphthalena.  "You're right Naph.  We'll all go home together.  Besides.  I'm sure my dumbass little brother can find something.  If it don't eat him..."  She shakes her head.  "Will your parents be worried?"
[21:59] * Sedgewick "Yeah, the little dragon is right! We could finish their work."

[22:00] * Naphthalena fidgets a little. "W-well maybe? I mean... If they knew me..." her voice got a little quiet, "... but I'm sure it'll be fine."
[22:00] <%Somber> She walked around the bodies carefully and examined the ruined targeting computer.  "Mmmm... yes.  Considering they were geckos, they kept it mostly intact.  The terminals were just for monitoring.  I think I could probably fix it."
[22:01] * Lazer_Blazer nods "Ok a land far far away. And no way home any time soon. Is that the gist of it?"
[22:02] * Candlelight_Sonata swallows and tentatively wraps a wing around Naphthalena
[22:03] * Calamine looks over the bodies sadly. "I just don't understand any of this."
[22:03] * Naphthalena looked down a little sadly, but doesn't pull away from the wing. "Isle Del Sol? That'd put us... Almost half way around the world, I think." She scratches her head briefly. "And... And you said that you were building something to bring things here from far away, right? S-so maybe someone didn't want you to succeed..?"
[22:04] * Sedgewick "They managed to bring us. I'd say the geckos failed."
[22:07] <%Somber> "I don't know.  There were twenty four of us.  I'd... I'd have to count the dead.  Maybe it was a coincidence.  I know everyone was focused on the experiment but if someone is missing..."
[22:07] * Candlelight_Sonata frowns.  "Though didn't you say something about a targetting whozawhatsit being stolen?  Might be something we'd need to get back..."
[22:09] * Lazer_Blazer sighs "Yes they ran off it."
[22:10] * Naphthalena looked down a little sadly. "I'm not sure how we'll find the geckos though. If they're working for someone, then maybe we'll just have to find out who and find that person?"
[22:11] <%Somber> She nods.  "It looks like they took three parts.  I don't know why... they wouldn't be all that valuable apart."  She sighs hugging herself.  "If you... if you help with the bodies... I'll try and find the password to the door.  You can use this silo as a safehouse.  The Island is dangerous.  We were making the teleporter to get us off the island and away
