  1. Files needed:
  2. VirtualBox 5.1.14 (Virtual machine software)
  3. VBoxGuestAdditions(GFX drivers for VirtualBox, you'll need this or else OSRS will run pretty slow, it comes with VirtualBox)
  4. Tunnelbear or any other free VPN software. (Tunnelbear is one of the easiest VPNs to setup and they've got a great deal right now: 0.5-1.5*gb of free data)
  5. Windows 7/8/10 Disc Images (ISO Files, which you can get legally from the official microsoft page given that you have a legal windows product key)
  6. *You get an extra 1gb if you use TunnelBear tweet advertise action.
  7. Setting up a virtual machine
  8. Run VirtualBox 5.1.14 and install
  9. After installation run VirtualBox a screen like this should show up: http://i.imgur.com/X6RMTc6.png
  10. Press Ctrl+N to make a new virtual machine, give it any name you like.
  11. Type: Microsoft Windows, Version: Corresponding to the OS iso you have (I have windows 7) http://i.imgur.com/pVzq1FF.png
  12. Allocate between 512-1024MB, less means the system will lag and more is unneeded. If you don't have enough RAM your system is too dated to create a stable VM. Click next.
  13. Select 'Create a virtual hard disk now'
  14. Hard disk file type leave it on VDI (VirtualBox Disk Image) and click create.
  15. Dynamically allocate a size. I picked 25 GB but it can be as low as 12 GB. The virtual disk will never exceed the limit you input. Finally hit create.
  16. You will now have a VM, powered off on the left side of your screen: http://i.imgur.com/r29W2qD.png
  17. Right click it, go to settings and select storage on the left side.
  18. A screen opens up that looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/Cbf7knq.png Click the empty disc icon as shown on the image.
  19. On the right side under Attributes, optical drive: Sata port 1 is another disk image http://i.imgur.com/wMRJ3cU.png Click that and select 'Choose virtual optical disk file'
  20. Browse to your windows 7/8/10 ISO and assign it to the drive.
  21. Go to the display settings: http://i.imgur.com/bQXwKaZ.png Enable 3D and 2D video acceleration, assign video memory that your GPU can support. My GPU can support a max of 256 mb.
  22. Press 'OK' and power up the VM (doubleclick it). Install Windows
  23. Congratulations your VM is now setup.
  24. Setting up GFX Drivers
  25. VM naturally supports your CPU/Network connection. However GPU is not supported. To do this while your VM is running click devices in the top menu and select 'Insert Guest Additions CD Image' http://i.imgur.com/kz5KRDZ.png and just follow the steps to install the driver.
  26. TunnelBear (VPN)
  27. Now that your VirtualMachine is setup, you can download and install TunnelBear (you will have to register a free account) and osrs on it. TunnelBear installation is very straightforward. Just follow the onscreen instruction. After it is installed just tunnel to United States or Canada: http://i.imgur.com/T8Y8S7x.png
  28. Tweet about TunnelBear for more data: http://i.imgur.com/6lmylX8.png
  29. Have fun playing runey while still being able to use your computer to browse normally without using up any data on your VPN. If your computer supports it should be virtually fps lag free. http://i.imgur.com/LL2qMGs.png
