  1. Everyday each and every one of us socialize online, whether it’s through Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, AIM, etc. Even text messaging and email is considered social networking. Some of us even claim that we would not be able to LIVE without this technology unless we use it daily. I admit, social networking has had some of its ups and downs since it has first been introduced; but through scientific studies and research, the benefits people receive from social networking far outweighs the drawbacks.

  3. First of all, what is social networking? According to www.whatissocialnetworking.com, social networking is the means of socializing to communicate information, to run a business, or to start new relationships. These three subtopics have helped improve how we live in our world today, and our quality of life. Our world today is all about communication. We communicate mainly through the usage of phones, the Internet, and TV. On social networking websites, people tend to gather and share information and experiences on a variety of topics: golfing, cooking, movies, celebrity gossip, etc. The information we receive on last night’s Laker game, political and world issues, and the latest news on Obama’s health care reform is also revealed to us through social networking. Without this technology, international news could take weeks to even months. But now with the click of a button, anyone can access information from all around the globe.

  5. Recently, the United States has been going through a tough economic situation. Although our nation is still struggling to stabilize its economic state, jobs and business via social networking has helped boost our economy into stability. Facebook and Myspace have been used for businesses to plan meetings, find potential customers, and have allowed others to do become more successful. Everyone uses Ebay, to buy certain items; Expedia, to plan your next vacation; or Ticketmaster to purchase tickets for concerts. Twitter, a social networking website, has been used to share and discover anything that is happening in the world. People, like Roy Choi, have taken advantage of Twitter’s functions to succeed in their businesses. Roy Choi, the creator of Kogi BBQ, has used Twitter to share where he is planning to go next to sell his Korean-style Tacos. This new and innovative Korean fusion 4 wheeled restaurant was and still is a success. When his customers are aware that his Kogi truck is in the area via Twitter text messages, hordes of people line up to buy his products.
