  1. Alcide Delacroix was destined to the tribe of the Children of Gaia. His father, Christian Delacroix, and his mother, Arlene Temper, mated, in spite of both being Garou of the same tribe, something that brought about Alcide the metis, born under a half-moon. The Children of Gaia accepted Alcide all things considered, and, as he was conceived within a substantial sept mostly comprised of Children of Gaia, he had other metis of his age to live alongside. His parents' discipline was to raise their metis fledgling. Living his years prior to the First Change in Crinos form, Alcide frequently depended on a kindred metis of the Children, Whistler, for learning. Whistler, an Elder Philodox, showed Alcide what the Children of Gaia's tenets were, but also many aspects of Garou culture. Through Whistler and his father, Alcide became a strong advocate of peace and mercy. Both Whistler and his parents were members of The Patient Dead, a camp of the Children of Gaia with the scope of avoiding violence until it's the only option.

  3. Living in a sept governed by mostly Children of Gaia made Alcide aware of a very important passage of the Litany, unique to the Children: "Create And Pursue Peace Whenever Possible". Alcide sees the world as divided between Gaia, who represents love, freedom and similar virtues; and the Triatic Wyrm, who encourages a barrier between people, isolation and egoism. In the eyes of the Children, the wyrmish virtues are always intrusions, so by investing themselves into teaching humans about Gaia, they hope to keep them clean from its taint.

  5. By growing up amongst this tribe, who is tolerant of metis, Alcide managed to avoid scrutiny, which helped him concentrate on maintaining peace and serenity even at a young age. His Philodox auspice also meant that he would often look for solutions to small conflicts between his friends, or amongst members of his family. During some moments of his youth, he'd even mediate conflicts between his father and members of other tribes within the sept. With Whistler's assistance, Alcide was taken to visit other septs with the purpose of advancing his social skills, as they were going to be needed for a Philodox. In spite of being a metis, the boy managed to get along with most people he spoke to.

  7. His Gaian upbringing is clear, and he often approaches people with a friendly demeanour. Even if some see his metis background as revolting, Alcide learns not to take insults to heart and instead tries to show these people that there is more to him than that, and most people usually realize that this is true. However, some still regard him as the product of an unholy conception. A Philodox amongst the Children of Gaia is a diplomat at heart, and a man who solves conflicts arbitrarily and justly more often than not. A judge that keeps objectivity and facts in mind while avoiding an emotional and/or violent approach to the matter at hand is by far the best suited for such things, which is exactly what Alcide represents as a person due to his upbringing.
