"This would be so much easier if I still had a girlfriend." John said.
"Why's that?" Aleta asked looking JenBot over.
"When I had a girlfriend she lived here with me." John said. "Erik wasn't sure that was wise, thought she was just using me."
"Was she?"
"Sort of." john answered leaning against a work bench. "She lived for perversion, but that's no longer true. See she was into some wicked weird stuff. Like Bondage and stuff like that. We even had a safe word."
"Um, really?" Aleta asked turning back to John.
"Apples." John said. "I had her down here and tied up and gagged and everything and then I showed her JenBot, and she screamed the safe word. Well I mean I thought she did, but she was actually calling me something pretty ugly. I untied her and the next day she joined a convent."
"Wow." Aleta said trying her best not to smile. "Erik know about this?"
"Nope, I just told him we'd both realized that we were looking for something different in a relationship and decided it was time to part ways."
"John," Aleta said.
"It wasn't a lie," John said. "We do want different things. See, I'm not a bondage type of guy, but she was into it, and I just...didn't want to be alone. I mean Erik's always there for me, but I just want to prove I can do stuff on my own, that I'm not that seven year old kid he had to take care of anymore. When she was here, I could have borrowed her car, or had her take me in or something."
"You're not into bondage?" Aleta asked.
"No," John said. "I'm a bot dude. I like geeky stuff, but women don't like bot stuff."
"Have you ever told a girl you have a robot in your basement?" Aleta asked him.
"Once, she thought it was a sex bot, called me a freak and ran out of here like I'd just showed her a nuclear bomb." John answered.
"This was before or after Miss Apples?" Aleat asked.
"After," john said.
"And when you showed her the bot, was there bondage stuffe laying around?" Aleta asked. John looked around the basement trying to picture the scene.
"Yeah, Yeah I did. Hey you think that's what scared her off, the bondage stuff sitting here with JenBot?"
"It's possible." Aleta asked. "You don't still have it do you?"
"Nope," John said. "I sold it to get money for JenBot's eyes, and T.R.O.U.T."
"Good boy," Aleta said giving him a smile.
"I suppose I'll walk to work tomorrow." John said. "Thanks for coming over Aleta, I gotta get upstairs though, my guild and I are getting our Dragons tonight." Aleta followed him upstairs and waved goodbye to him as she left the house and left him to his gaming.
