  44.
  45. Welcome to Bob10110's custom Mafia game!
  46.
  47. In this setup, each player knows their Profession and an active Trait. The game is closed, so player roles will not be revealed upon death.
  48.
  49. However...to spice things up, each player also has a mystery passive trait. Many of these will result in horrible death. >=D
  50.
  51. But I am a kind bastard mod, so ALL PLAYERS will have one-shot Deathproof, meaning that a player must be killed twice to be taken completely out of the game. This is to somewhat prevent that first night Mafia kill from completely screwing with a player's good time (or to allow Mafia to gambit by attacking themselves). Yeah, it'd still be possible for a person to die completely the first night but it is very unlikely.
  52.
  53. This game is played with both Night Phase and Day Phase. Play begins with a Night Phase #1, and all actions (including Mafia faction kill) may be used. The use of actions is always optional, but if you are not using your abilities then PM me saying so.
  54.
  55. During Day Phase, each player has the option to [Vote] to lynch another member of the group. Each player may also vote for "No Lynch", or NL for short.
  56.
  57. Please, enjoy yourselves while playing this game.
  58.
  59. -----
  60.
  61. The Professions (roles)
  62.
  63. == Civilian (Townie) ==
  64.
  65. • Bodyguard: Can [guard] one player every night from all nightkills, risking his own life to do so.
  66.
  67. Reversed by Witch: If the Bodyguard would be nightkilled, he shoves his target in front of him to take the kills he would have received.
  68.
  69. • Doctor: Can [save] one player every night from one nightkill, and ONLY one nightkill.
  70.
  71. Reversed by Witch: Doctor's save becomes a nightkill.
  72.
  73. • Vigilante: Once per game, you may choose one player to [kill] during the Night.
  74.
  75. Reversed by Witch: Vigilante's nightkill becomes a save. It is treated exactly the same as a Doctor save.
  76.
  77. • Reporter: Can [investigate] one player every night to learn their Traits. Returns the Trait(s) that player possesses, or "No Trait" if that player possesses none (or if you were blocked).
  78.
  79. Reversed by Witch: Returns "No Trait".
  80.
  81. • Tracker: Can [track] one player each night, learning who that player targeted with abilities, if anybody (but not what they did). This includes the Mafia factional kill.
  82.
  83. Reversed by Witch: Returns "No Target".
  84.
  85. == Mafia ==
  86.
  87. • Thief: Once per game, you may pick one player to [steal] Profession and Traits from.
  88.
  89. Reversed by Witch: The Thief gives his Traits to the targeted player, and will be told that player possesses no Profession or Traits.
  90.
  91. • Roleblocker: Can [block] one player each night, preventing the use of their Profession and any Active Traits that player possesses.
  92.
  93. Reversed by Witch: Targeted player's use of abilities is redirected to you this round.
  94.
  95. == Third Party ==
  96.
  97. • Jester: Your win condition is to be lynched (at least once). If you accomplish this, you win jointly with whichever faction ends up winning the game.
  98.
  99. Being witched does not affect your win condition.
  100.
  101. • Serial Killer: Your win condition is to eliminate all other players from play. Each and every night, you may [kill] any player of your choice.
  102.
  103. Reversed by Witch: Your nightkill becomes a save, but your win condition still remains the same.
  104.
  105. • Survivor: Your win condition is to survive until the endgame. If you accomplish this, you win jointly with whichever faction ends up winning the game.
  106.
  107. Being witched does not affect your win condition.
  108.
  109. -----
  110.
  111. The Active Traits (modifiers)
  112.
  113. • Alien: Once in this game during Night, you may choose to [abduct] any single player (including yourself) for the next Day and Night Phase.
  114.
  115. Reversed by Witch: Alien's effect will turn into Mad Scientist's, if used.
  116.
  117. • Assassin: The Vigilante in Trait form! Once per game, you may choose one player to [kill] during the Night.
  118.
  119. Reversed by Witch: Assassin's nightkill becomes a save. It is treated exactly the same as a Doctor save.
  120.
  121. • Broadcaster: Once during each day, you may send me a whisper containing [broadcast <message>]. I will then post that message in chat myself, if I deem it appropriate.
  122.
  123. Reversed by Witch: I will still post the message, but it might be a little screwy...
  124.
  125. • Bus Driver: Once in this game during Night, you may choose two players to [drive <playerA> <playerB>] the bus for. Any targeted actions on player A will be redirected to player B, and vice versa.
  126.
  127. Note: Cannot be reversed by Witch.
  128.
  129. • Mad Scientist: Once in this game during Night, you may choose to [clone] any single player (including yourself) for the next Day and Night Phase.
  130.
  131. Reversed by Witch: The Mad Scientist's effect will turn into Alien's if used.
  132.
  133. • Witch: Once in this game, you can choose one player to [curse] for this Night phase and the next Day phase, reversing Profession and Traits.
  134.
  135. Reversed by Witch: Why would you curse yourself? Regardless, this will have no effect on the Witch trait.
  136.
  137. -----
  138.
  139. The Passive Traits (modifiers, but hidden because I'm a bastard mod)
  140.
  141. • Lovers: You are partnered with one of the other players. If that player would die and be removed from the game, you will suffer a suicidal death during the current (or next, if killed during day) Night Phase.
  142.
  143. Reversed by Witch: If your Lover is not dead by the end of the next Day, you take your own life (suicidal death) out of spite.
  144.
  145. • Fast Plague: If the Doctor does not save you during either of the first two Nights, you will die on the morning of Day #2.
  146.
  147. • Slow Plague: If the Doctor does not save you during any of the first three Nights, you will die on the morning of Day #3.
  148.
  149. Reversed by Witch (either Plague): The plague trait will simply be cured and cease to exist.
  150.
  151. • Insecure: If you are targeted by anybody during the Night Phase, you are roleblocked for that night.
  152.
  153. Reversed by Witch: You are roleblocked unless someone targets you.
  154.
  155. • Magician (1-Shot Deathproof): The first time you would die for any reason, you are brought back to life immediately.
  156.
  157. Reversed by Witch: Instead of this trait giving you an extra life, it becomes a Plague that kills you in the morning.
  158.
  159. • Zombie (Vengeful): Upon death, you must choose to [kill] another living player immediately.
  160.
  161. Reversed by Witch (previous night): The Zombie's target lives and is immune to today's lynch.
  162.
  163. -------------------------
  164.
  165. The inevitable FAQ section!
  166.
  167. -------------------------
  168.
  169. Q: That's a lot of abilities. Priorities list, please.
  170.
  171. A: In my setup, this is the order in which abilities will be resolved:
  172.
  173. Bus Driver > Witch > Roleblocker > Mad Scientist > Alien > (others)
  174.
  175. -----
  176.
  177. Q: If the Roleblocker blocked me from performing a one-shot ability (such as Alien), do I still have the option of using it later?
  178.
  179. A: No. Once you decide to use it, it disappears at the end of that Night Phase regardless of whether you actually did anything.
  180.
  181. -----
  182.
  183. Q: What exactly happens when a player is cloned?
  184.
  185. A: Simply put, there are two of them for the next Day and the next Night Phase. While that player has both clones alive, their votes will count double during the Day and they will be able to use any of their abilities twice during the Night (including once-per-game abilities, though if used even once will still completely disappear at the end of Night Phase).
  186.
  187. The clone will automatically disappear after a full Day/Night cycle has passed (think of it like an incurable Plague). The first death the player receives while cloned (including the Night during which the Mad Scientist used his ability) resolves on the clone effectively giving the player a temporary extra life as well.
  188.
  189. -----
  190.
  191. Q: Does the Reporter see the hidden passive Trait?
  192.
  193. A: Yes. Reporter sees all Traits a player currently possesses (each player starts the game with one Active Trait and one hidden Passive Trait). The Reporter does NOT see Professions.
  194.
  195. -----
  196.
  197. Q: If the Reporter investigates someone who is using a one-shot trait the same night, what will show up in the results?
  198.
  199. A: Whatever the player had at the beginning of the Night Phase will be revealed. Used once-per-games disappear once they resolve, and all things resolve at the beginning of the (next) day.
  200.
  201. -----
  202.
  203. Q: Is Magician and/or Deathproof announced any differently than a death and a save?
  204.
  205. A: The publicly-known Deathproof will be distinct, and resolved first (it is known everybody has two lives). Magician will be treated the same as if the Doctor had saved you from death (except in the obvious case where you are lynched).
  206.
  207. -----
  208.
  209. Q: Is Bodyguard announced any differently than a Doctor save?
  210.
  211. A: I will not announce anything regarding the player saved, but instead redirect all nightkills to the Bodyguard. Bodyguard does not cure Plagues nor can he take the death for that.
  212.
  213. -----
  214.
  215. Q: After which death will the Lovers/Magician/Zombie traits activate?
  216.
  217. A: These traits will resolve upon complete removal from the game of that player (that is, the player would lose his second life). Each trait can only resolve once.
  218.
  219. -----
  220.
  221. Q: Is the Thief aware of the passive trait stolen?
  222.
  223. A: Yes. But remember that any serious claims of a hidden passive trait (unless you are also Reporter) are likely to arouse other players' suspicion, so don't expect claiming Plague to be your best course of action.
  224.
  225. -----
  226.
  227. Q: If the Thief steals a Lover trait, will he be told who his Lover is?
  228.
  229. A: No. Remember, I'm a bastard mod. >=D
  230. (But this is generally how things are done anyways.)
  231.
  232. -----
  233.
  234. Q: If the Broadcaster sends a message that I do not approve of, is it used up for the day?
  235.
  236. A: I will respond via whisper asking to say something else. I am likely to accept just about anything that isn't a (fake) vote or modkill (or other abuse of my moderator status). But feel free to trololol as much as you want within the daily message.
  237.
  238. -----
  239.
  240. Q: When exactly does a Plague kill?
  241.
  242. A: It kills at the beginning of the morning, and the result is treated the same as a normal death (though Plague is not a nightkill in itself). If the Doctor (or a reversed Vigilante/Assassin) saves you on any night before this happens, the trait is cured and nullified.
  243.
  244. -----
  245.
  246. Q: What is majority determined by: Total number of players, or total number of votes? Judge has two votes...
  247.
  248. Number of players, always. As an example, if 3 players are alive, it takes 2 votes to lynch. A Judge could, in this case, cast the only vote and cause a lynch.
