Zero: Lord Kamui, huh…? What do you think I’m doing?
Kamui: Umm… I can’t really tell from here.

Zero: (biting noise)

Zero: What? Are you scared? Well, that makes sense. You don’t trust me, Lord Kamui.

Kamui: What? Why’s that?
Zero: We don’t have that kind of deep bond yet. Trust is born from violent clashes… well, maybe it’s a difference in how we were raised. Still, it’s nice of you to say that.

Zero: Ah, sorry. I said too much, didn’t I? But I haven’t lead a life that made it easy for me to trust people.

Zero: I see. To learn more about someone, you should start by learning about their past, huh? If you want to understand a person’s nature better, then that’s probably a good way to go about it.
Kamui: Are you willing to discuss it?
Zero: I’m fine with it. It’s not really a big deal, anyway. Ever since I’ve been a child, I’ve done anything I had to to get by. Stealing, begging, assaulting people, killing them… it would be pretty difficult to think of an evil deed I haven’t done.
Kamui: …
Zero: What? Surprised, are you? I haven’t even gotten to the best part! Anything I had that was of any value, I’d sell. Everything you could think of. The most intense one was probably that one time… who would’ve thought such a great man would–
Kamui: Whoa! I… I think that’s enough for me. It’s not an easy story to listen to. I wasn’t being considerate enough.
Zero: Well, I don’t really see the problem with it myself… but you look like you might faint if we keep this conversation going.
Kamui: … I’m sorry. I made you remember something awful…
Zero: Nah, I should be the one to apologize. You looked so attentive that I couldn’t help but exaggerate things a bit.
Kamui: What…?
Zero: I just wanted to see you get flustered. It’s a bad habit of mine. Sorry about that.
Kamui: O-oh. I put my trust in others easily, but if things are like this, I wonder if you’ll ever be able to put your trust in me.
Zero: Hm. … you’re right.

Zero: Now that I think about it, I didn’t really have any good reason to talk to you.
