  1. Francisco: 3 Destiny
  2.
  3. A planet of scrappy survivors on the borders of civilized space, the Franciscans have long been involved in various planetary conquests throughout history. The arid, unforgiving majority of the planet and the resolve of its people has kept it from ever being truly conquered, though. Now, with the TSAB's rise, they have joined the ranks of the Admin worlds.
  4.
  5. 0 Bonus: Franciscans rarely interact well with outsiders. Their plain and honest demeanor might be charming to some, but their disregard for subtlety or other social mores is less so. Still, this goes a long way towards recognizing their own simply by speech. Gain a +5 to social interaction with others from Francisco.
  6.
  7. 3 Technique: When invaders come, the first thing they do is disarm the populace. Unfortunately for them, our bodies are our weapons. You may take any non-Ranged weapon type with Unarmed.
  8.
  9. 5 Technique: A Franciscan never goes quietly. When in the Blossom Harvest stance and under the effects of Heart Fire Temper Skill, you gain +5 to Toughness in addition to the +5 to damage.
  10.
  11.
  12. Giants:
  13.
  14. A race that has been lost to history, the Giants were once a race of incredible technological prowess. While they were somewhat confined to their own system, they had completed spaceflights and invented satellites, but as a race they focused more inward than outward. They had made great strides in Device and other magitechnology. For a time, things were at peace. But everything changed when the Belkans attacked. Due to their great size, macro-scale weapons had never been developed by the Giants, and the Belkans outclassed their conventional arms with Lost Logia technology. The last remnants of the Giant race fled their world, traveling until they found a primitive world to hide on. That world was Francisco.
  15.
  16. The primitive humans living on the planet weren't a real threat to the giants, but that didn't stop them from trying. Occasional raids and skirmishes between the giants and human tribes on the surface were a simple fact of life for a few centuries. Over time, the giants began to believe that maybe the Belkans had forgotten about them. This peace was shattered by another Belkan armada in the sky over Francisco.
  17.
  18. This time, however, the giants were ready. They had developed something in secret to counteract the Belkan orbital weapons, a sattelite array called the Tears of the Sun. This array was capable of dispersing ship-based magical weapons, and forcing the Belkans onto a surface fight. It was only then that the giants realized that the innocent humans would bear the brunt of the Belkan ground forces.
  19.
  20. Striding from their mountains in numbers, the Giants signaled their intentions to defeat the enemy coming from the sky alongside the humans in their own language. When the Belkans landed, they faced a vanguard of united human tribes and almost every surviving giant. It was a crushing defeat, and without a beachhead, the Belkans were forced to fall back and regroup from the planet. Many giants and humans died for this victory, unfortunately, and when a different Armada arrived to succeed where the last failed, the giants were forced to begin raising the humans up technologically to compensate.
  21.
  22. As fleet after fleet came, invaded, and was thrown off Francisco, the people began to revere the dwindling numbers of giants as their saviors, and developed a national identity based around loyalty, strength, and courage in the face of overwhelming odds. The giants, not wanting to be worshiped by the humans and their numbers dwindling faster than new giants could be born, retreated into their mountains and disappeared. The last giant strode out to fight alongside the humans, and was slain, 250 years ago. Now, the humans of Francisco revere their mountains as a holy place, and none step inside their labyrinthine cave systems.
  23.
  24. A number of incredible technologies were introduced to the humans during the centuries of siege, including device technology, flight, weaponry, and even quality of life technologies like cars and ships. Of course, there is none more discussed than the Blood of Giants. While there is no proof that it was ever created, it is believed that before the Giants died, they created one more device to allow their blood to live on in select humans. People that distinguish themselves as being exceptionally strong, brave, or loyal are said to have this blood within them, and observers look for these traits in early childhood to prepare them for military careers.
  25.
  26. 3 Fortune: You are a native Franciscan with the Blood of the Giants (Sangre del Gigante). This trait does nothing by itself, but allows you to purchase the techniques in this section.
  27.
  28. 5 Technique: Countenace of the Giant (Rostro del Gigante). Even the strongest and toughest humans are insects before a giant. You must spend a Joss to activate this technique. While in the Blossom Harvest Stance and wielding a Massive weapon, floating a dice from the river to ignore armor also allows you to ignore Toughness on Chi Aura rolls.
