  1. Aloha, my name is Kyonyu and today I will be reviewing your plot!
  2.
  3. I think there are some things you need to focus on before I can rank you up. Keep in mind that there are three elements we, as helpers, are looking for. These three elements are: Terrain, organics and structure
  4.
  5. -Terrain: What is terrain? Terrain is basically the land of your plot. First of all NEVER leave the land flat you should always have different layers on your plot, whether it is a mountain, cliff, hill or just simple elevation. Try to always vary the palette too (AKA varying the blocks ex: dirt, grass, stone, etc..)
  6.
  7. Here is an example of some advanced terrain that you should look at for inspiration http://gyazo.com/81d258e93c8d0bb1eea276c2738d3d4b
  8.
  9. -Structure: Structures are the buildings like that castle / house you tried to do. All I am looking at right now is a flat and very simple wall and a small entrance. Try to add more depth and detail to your build as in add more layers to the wall and give it a more defined shape, then maybe you could add the very small details in your build.
  10.
  11. Here is an example of how to build a basic structure, for this example i will be using a small house
  12.
  13. -Step 1: Do the outline of the building (house, tower, etc..)
  14. Example: http://gyazo.com/722eef1311518bf95f3f3f6de824b91e
  15.
  16. -Step 2: Search for a good block pallete and start filling in the house
  17. Example: http://gyazo.com/abb16edf6d6b5de57293ae801b07bf64
  18.
  19. -Step 3: Start adding in the final details and adjusting the shape of the building (if needed).
  20. Example: http://gyazo.com/4a9dffeb49e9bc4e66e68ab8374482a4
  21.
  22. -Orgaincs: Organics are living things (Trees, animals, humanoids, flowers, etc..). Organics really helps into creating more atmosphere into your build. Please do not just bone-meal tree saplings and tall grass. Usually the way to do these is to actually try to imagine the thing you are trying to build.
  23.
  24. For a basic tree, you can start by making a trunk and then curving it whichever direction you want. Make sure the trunk is wider at the base (like a real tree) http://i.imgur.com/tP5SeC2.png Be sure the tree curves and moves in a 3d way, it is not a drawing so feel free to have the trunk move.
  25.
  26. Next come the branches. These are much thinner and spread the tree out more. (I did them in oak to show more easily how they look) http://i.imgur.com/eOk9woh.png
  27.
  28. Don't forget about the roots of your tree. Don't make them too large or too small, try and make them match the tree you're doing. (I did them in birc``h so they'd be easy to see) http://i.imgur.com/1zq5U7d.png
  29.
  30. Depending on the type of tree you're going for, your leaf style might change. Willows for example, have draping leaves. Oaks have leaves that completely cover the branches. I built an oak styled tree here http://i.imgur.com/skCTh51.png Please note that the leaves are not a giant square around the branches. The leaves mold around the branches, but they also connect to the other leaves to make the tree seem more filled out and less like it has green fingers.
  31.
  32. Good luck and if you have any questions or need more help feel free to contact either me in game or one of the other build team members or moderators, happy building!`
